Ava opened her eyes after coming out of her vision of what James had done. She quickly got out of bed went to her bathroom washing up and got dressed. She picked up her wand and she went into an apparition.
She appeared in Angus' library to see him writing down in journal. He looked up at her smiling. "Hello, you are a welcome birthday gift."
Ava flushed and smiled. "I'm sorry Angus. Happy birthday. I'm sorry I didn't bring your gift."
"Ava. Your wearing my birthday day gift. What's up? You got some news to share?" He asked.
Ava flushed even hotter. "Ah. Yeah. I ah. Um. I need to speak with James. I saw a vision of him getting a new visitor here. I need to speak with him."
Angus nodded. "Oh sure. I heard about that. Minor little thing. He's at the workshop working on a project for a client. Go on and talk to him about it. You staying over tonight?" He said.
"Yes. It's your birthday. I can stay over for a couple of days." She said.
Angus smiled. "You really are looking good today girl. Go on and talk to our son before that option becomes unavailable for you."
Ava flushed nodding her and apparition into and stood in the workshop. James was wearing a leather apron in front of a circular glowing magical forge.
"Mother. You're here for Dad's birthday." Mara said behind her.
Ava turned and a smile spread over her face at the sight of Mara sitting in rocking chair with two babies sleeping in rocking beds beside her chair. She went over to the children grinning at the sleeping children.
"Look at you. You couldn't wait to see the twins again." James said with laughter in his voice.
Ava made herself looking away from her young grand children. She turned toward James who smiled at her as weapon hovered just inches above the forge.
"James can we talk outside a bit." She asked.
James shook his head. "No. Speak your peace around Ava. We have no secrets." He said.
Ava sighed. "I think you should remove that girl from the ranch immediately before she becomes attached to Dago." She said.
"I agree with mother though I would personally remove her from this life personally myself." Mara said.
James chuckled shaking his head. "Not going to happen. They've seen each other and it's already to late so I have to handle the situation properly before things start to get turned up."
Both women stared at him. Ava smiled getting to her feet. "Have you shown Dago what she did to us?" Ava asked calmly.
James shook his head. "I haven't even shown you any of that. Realistically speaking none of that stuff happened. Hawks Landing never happened and things are very very different from that timeline of events. It's a whole new-" He said.
"-I have seen it from your past memories and I've read the history of Hawks Landing." Ava said in interjection.
James shook his in confusion. "There is no written history of Hawks Landing." He said.
Ava stared at him. "When was the last time you've been in the library or ready any of the books inside?" He said.
"Never." James said in a dismissive tone. "I have no interest in thinking back to that childish period in my life. The library is for Dago and Mara to do their work and give reports to Cole to keep him off our backs. It's better off being forgotten. My life is far better now." He said.
"I read your journals, James. I know how much Hawks Landing meant to you." Ava said.
James chuckled. "I forgot about those. Well that answer my question. Though I don't recall being that much impassioned in those journal entries about dad and our silly creations." He said.
Ava flinched back but she required to look at him. "Did you know your father wrote journal entries about you and the historical advancements in magical creations you made?" She said.
James snorted shaking his head. "Oh. Knowing dad I don't think he gave that much of damn about the creations we made as much as whether I was happy. He was always encouraging though about us pursuing our dream. Dago and me did have fun. Hawks Landing was a pretty place mother though it ended in failure it was a hell of ride." He said.
"We could bring it back." Dago said from the open door way of the library entrance. They stared at each other. James smiled sadly.
"So you read the journals huh?" James said.
Dago nodded. "I wrote a bit of stuff to. I really am a genius mate. We did a lot good and we had a lot of fun. I know you miss the ride. I can see it in your eyes when your making new weapons. The thrill of creation. You still can't let go it. I don't think you ever will, mate."
James stared to disagree but then he nodded. "No. I never will get over it. It's alive though in the library. I've seen a bit of the reports you've done on your creations they're pretty good."
Dago snorted shaking his head. "All we've been doing is improvements to earlier creations and modifications. The best we've done is advanced improvements to the security upgrades on the wards in combination with a couple of new tricks. Don't do us much of a hell of a lot of good with out the lightning sword. Them far eastern wizards have been dragging their feet sending that damn sword here. They're a year late."
James shook his head. "We don't need the sword or to rebuild Hawks Landing to become what once was. We're doing fine now."
"You know I have wondered about that." Mara said. "Everything else has come almost full circle. But, the sword hasn't arrived. James. I didn't ask you but are you sure you did receive the sword from Master Chen?"
James shook his head. "The sword was never mean to claim. So I didn't receive it no."
Mara stared to talk but Ava stepped closer to him. "James. Are you saying the sword came here! Does your father know about it?" Ava asked.
James sighed. "The sword did arrive here for Dad's birthday. He got it as master Chen wished." He said shortly.
Everyone stared at him. "James. Are you saying Hawks Landing is here again?" Mara asked.
"No." James said.
"James. Is the sword the key to Hawks Landing being created?" Mara asked.
James sighed. "Yes. In combination with Dad's power and his authority over this space we're in yes. But, it has not been Hawks Landing for all intents and purposes doesn't exist and it doesn't need to exist."
"Where did you take that girl? It wasn't far and it has to be here somewhere?" Ava said staring at him.
James was silent. "I-I built a space to give her some-" He said.
"By built you mean you made a construct here." Mara said. "Was it a jail cell or holding area for her to stay in permanently?" She asked.
"No. It's a training construct to train her." He said.
Mara stared at him. "On the ground level or above?" She asked.
"Ground level. I haven't made anything above us nor was that my attention but I had to make a few adjustments as the attacks here increased over the years." James said.
Dago took out a notepad and pen. "Alright mate. I'm going to need to make a report for the big boss to detail the progress of inventions or creates." He said.
James sighed. "That would take more then a few minutes of detail even with what little I've constructed in the last couple of days." He said.
"Only a couple of days. That's good. Give it to me James. That helps us not get the old boy upset in the congress. Go ahead. I'll get it all down." Dago said.
James sighed. "Alright be sure to get it all down because I don't want to repeat myself. Construct one, holding room meant for training unstable powerful people. Construct two, restraining were-creature bracelets and collar meant to channel aggressive into mental focus energy elemental tailor made for individual magical energy output of internal magical energy. Research and development is in the process to the effective use of tools and stable dimension realm expansion for the benefit of training is still unknown. So after the current resident undergoes treatment all research will be terminated after completion and given over to the President of the congress of wizards." He said.
Dago looked up at him. "So your trying to close down the project quickly before President or anybody else gets the idea to jump in and start asking questions." He asked.
James shook his head. "No. I have one answer to Cole's questions but he starts making demands on us to make shit then we'll in the shit." He said.
Dago nodded. "Level with me. I need to know with the way things are changing and our new resident coming on board are you totally against us adding on more of Hawks Landing advancements for our own protection and research?" He asked.
James sighed folding his arms across his chest. "I'm not against doing whatever it takes to protect ourselves. But-" He said.
"What about the forest at least?" Dago said. "We could do for having it here if you intend on training or redeeming creatures like Bellatrix here." He said.
"James." Ava said. "I think it is a mistake to have her here. The girl is unknown. You don't know what the real objective might be for her being here." She said.
James shrugged. "For all intents and purposes she came to find Dago and have kids with her." He said.
"James. She is a dangerous creature you can not trust her. She's a monster to everyone here including Dago. It's just a manner of time before she-" Mara said.
"I'm perfectly aware of what she is and isn't love. I've had three damn years to be ready for her arrival here and even then at her worst possible state I finished her easily." James said.
"Why no finish her now?" Mara countered. "Why try to save her at all? Why go through any of this shit? She doesn't deserved to saved. She's a monster through and through. There is no saving her." She said.
"Damn. Your getting heated aren't you." Dago said. "Can't we discuss this out-" He said.
"I don't want to discuss any of it. I want her out of here or put to sleep like the dog she is." Mara said bluntly. She stared at James. "James. We have children now. We can't just allow her-" She said.
"Oh. You want to go kill her." James said. "If that's what you want to do then I can take you over there and we can get it done. I just only want one thing." He said.
"Name it. It's done." Mara said. "I know you don't like how I'm approaching this but I believe this is the way to go for all our protection." She said.
"You will agree that library all the text and everything we've done so far will be destroyed. There will no mention of Hawks Landing. No more creations from this point forward. Everything we did will be forgotten. I will even return the sword to the wusxia and that will be the end of all this nonsense. Grab your wand and let's go." James said bluntly.
Mara stared at him. "You would destroy the last piece of your dream to simply save that monster for Dago's sake?" She asked.
James snorted. "I'm not a murder. I judge people on what they've done in this timeline and on their character. I'm not trying save Bellatrix. That's not up to me and I wouldn't be destroying it. You would have to do it yourself." He said.
Mara flinched back. "What?!" She said.
James nodded. "You would have to destroy the last memory I have and magic of Hawks Landing yourself. Personally. Once that is done so is that part of me." He said.
Mara screamed. "Fine! I want her out of here then. Remove her from our home James. Do it for our children? Your can't change that girl's fate. Honey. Your have a sweat heart. But, it's not going to happen. Please get her out of here." Mara said.
James laughed and then he smiled with cold look in his eyes at her. "Love. I ain't no hero. I'm the son of the dragon of the West. I've put to sleep far dangerous shit head monsters then that chick. I told you how it's going to be. Either kill her now and then you set fire to everything we created and destroy the last piece of Hawks Landing or stay the hell out of my business. I ain't saving that chick. I'm going to put my foot up her ass and if she don't change like I want it's a wrap her." He said.
"James. You-" Ava began but Mara held up her hand forestalling her.
Mara stared at James. "You would allow me to kill her? That's not a lie right?" She said.
"Yes I would allow it and you would pay a price for interfering in my business. What's it going Love? My way or your way you can't have both." James said.
Mara stepped forward. "Handle her your way then." She said.
