James wok up early from his vision of the past dream. Mara was asleep close beside him and Dago sleeping in a over stuffed chair close beside them in the library.
He carefully eased himself away from her and sat up taking his notebook and pen in hand he went into an apparition and a second later was on the roof the Wesley library looking out at the sky realm early morning expanse.
It was still to dark to see clearly to write so he decided to wait for the sunrise as felt the heat of it coming. He sat motionless his notebook open and his ink pen laying the middle of the book.
James waited facing the direction the sun was about to rise. It was quiet. No storms raged above his head and there was a cool breeze in the air. He felt partly rested and relaxed. His mind wasn't busy at present and he felt free not think without the worry of someone watching him presently on invading his time space with the all seeing eyes of the back sight or oracles of the modern day.
He sighed and allowed himself to just relax and enjoy the moment as he waited for the sun to come slowly up over the Potter ranch and finally he felt it. The warm glow of a new dawn.
The hours flowed by and he hardly noticed the time or when Mara had come to check up on him until she stood close to him but she made sure sure not to block his vision. The dawn of the last few remaining hours came in a hue of colors and left him feeling regretful and at peace.
"Your working again? Did you get any rest at least?" Mara said in a worried voice.
James sighed but nodded his head. "I did. Though it wasn't a restful sleep. I found rest in staring at dawn now though. How was your sleep?"
"It was quite good until I realized you had gone to work again. You had another vision about your father." She said voicing it as a statement.
James nodded his head. "Yes. Dad can fly now with ease. I'm not sure how he finally figured it out but he did it. Ron Wesley is dead."
"Did your father…" Mara started to say but then stopped.
James shook his head. "No. No. I think Ron got to full of himself and got blasted with the killing curse by one of his partners that were hired by his master. It won't be long until they arrive here. I plan to make an addition to Hawks Landing before then and I know that is only going to anger or confuse people." He said.
"Do you intentionally want to make people anger or confused? Is there any joy you get from your work or need you have to create wonders here?" Mara said.
James frowned at the question not knowing how to answer it. "I like this place. I want to make this place beautiful. I want to keep this place what it is for the people that can appreciate what it is but it also has another purpose. But, yes. I like having a hand in making wonderful things here." He admitted to her quietly.
"When the lockdown finally goes down you go back to being a mystery with your words again?"
James snorted. "I'm not trying to be a mystery it's just a means of protecting myself. I try to be fairly honest but I am aware when someone is watching me now. I can feel many minds trying to invade my mind. Wesley attempted to do so many times when he was here."
Mara flinched back staring at his quiet profile. She closed her eyes in pain. She was quiet and then finally sat down next to him. "How long have they attempted to invade your mind?"
"When my dad set the foundation of this place it has been a consent battle. There is no rest for me but for now. Love, this place is nearly perfect but for one element."
Mara reached for his face brushing a loose hair a side from his face to smile at him. "What would you like to see in this place? I'm here to help you."
James shook his head though and tapped a finger to his chin. "I have an idea. This would be my first attempt at using pure magi magic but damn this is going to be weird to write down later if not down right embarrassing."
"Weird?" Dago said appearing suddenly on James other side. "That sounds fun. Let's hear the idea out." He said.
James sighed and turned his back to the dawn and faced his two best friends. They formed a triangle facing toward James automatically.
"Mara. Your record. Dago. Please abstain from laughing at me at least until I have concluded my song and given grace to the day." He sang his voice echoing
Dago stared at him with a single raised eye brow. "Oh God. Are you going to start singing to me!? I can't take that shit mate. Let me record what your going to say. You can sing to your wife. I'm only going to end up laughing in your face mate."
James sighed and nodded. He turned to Mara. She took his hands and smiled at him.
"I'm ready. Go ahead honey." Mara said polite.
"Ah-"
"Shut the damn mouth Dago or I'll shut it for you." Mara said sweetly.
Dago shut his mouth and nodded. He glared at James motioning for him to look at Mara.
James sighed and focused on Mara. "Mara. Don't interrupt me. Try to control yourself because I'm only going to do this once and Dago is never going to let it go. Promise."
Mara nodded looking at him with a serious expression on her face. "Let's go!"
"We were called to the mists. Crafted in the elements. Reborn a new in the isle of the sky islands. Fate and destiny have met again. Kissing on the dawn of a new era. Low the mist blows. Low the hallowed night I met you my fate on an evening boat ride my lover for all time you called to my soul our bound was forged with one chance glance your face spellbound me for all time to my dying days.
Reborn a new, my fire burns for you. Low the mist blows. Low the hallowed night. I met you my friend for all time. My blood brother. You cut the wind and set the ground a blaze in green flames to guard my back as I guarded your back in the battle in the sleeping forest.
We were called to the mists. Crafted in the elements Reborn a new in the isle of the sky islands. What beauty will we bring to our home my love. The glow of your magic radiant beauty sets my soul a blaze. What fire do spark in my heart by the scent of your female grace and charm.
Low the mist blows. Low the hallowed night true friendship was born. A word. A promise was made. Never shall we turn away from the other. Never shall I leave my brother without the defense of my sword. Never shall I turn against the brother that knows my very soul. My soul brother. My brother of fate. My house slytherin brother.
We are called to the mists. Crafted in the elements. Reborn a new in the isle of the sky islands. We are the heirs of the legacy of the man of the mists and-"
Mara broke down crying grabbing James. She crawled into his lap hugging his neck and kissing his cheek.
James looked at Dago who was glaring at him. James frowned. "What?"
"I hate you!?" Dago said a definitive voice and nod his head.
James rubbed Mara's back as she cried into his shoulder. "Did you get it all-"
"Yes I got it all down you poetic asshole." Dago said in anger.
James grimaced. "Hey man. Look we don't have to bring this-"
"Shut up! Something's happening-" Dago looking around as the whole Hawks Landing started shaking. "What the hell is that sound?"
James came to his feet with Mara still holding on his neck. He looked around at the realm. He frowned as a section of Hawks Landing rose up slightly and a waterfall of magical waters appeared pouring down into a circular lake surrounded by a forest island.
"James! Look! Look at that!" Dago pointed toward an animal that was leaping around on the island diving in and out of the water.
"Hmm. Looks like the spirit of a buck to me. That's interesting." James said in a voice devoid of any interest.
"You sound disappointed?! Why!" Dago said sounding alarmed.
James started to speak but stopped and pointed at a large bird silver bird with golden wings that appeared flying in the air. The bird cried out with a loud thunder clap and lightning cracked the sky. "Looks like he's finally shown up. Hawks has arrived." He said with a smile.
Dago and Mara stared at the beautiful animal as it flew free in the sky.
"James. That's a Thunderbird." Mara whispered.
"The hell you say." Dago said. "That bird doesn't look like any Thunderbird I've ever seen in any book. Bloody hell mate. He's a new species. Holy shit! Holy shit mate. The ride doesn't end!"
James laughed. "Damn straight my friend. Stage one is complete."
Dago pumped his fists into the air. "Stage two has begun. LET'S GO!"
