Chereads / Captain Capitalism: The Money-Maker System / Chapter 95 - The wolf and the system

Chapter 95 - The wolf and the system

While every viewer and every manager present were more than happy with the stream, 2 beings in particular were just highly confused and at a loss for thoughts at the scenes unfolding in front of their eyes.

The system in the form of a flying dollar bill and the old god bearing the guise of a wolf just stared at each other in sheer silence.

None of them knew what exactly their host was doing. Why exactly did the members of his race pay him money in exchange for being insulted to the core.

Had an old god spoken these words a war would have broken out and countless lives would have been brought into ruin to avenge the shame. Blood would be spilt until all the anger and hatred had been washed away.

Here it appeared more that the average male specimen took pride in having their character made fun of. The old god pondered whether or not his family would have taken as kindly to the kind of insults thrown around by Moros.

The answer to that was a resounding no!. They would also not give the one that dared to humiliate them part of their possessions so he could do so again.

"System, do you know what in tarnation is wrong with this species?"

Its voice a low growl, clearly not keen on their hosts hearing their opinion about his species.

"In all my years of existence, with all my knowledge about civilisation and lifeforms…this is indeed the only species to have shown enjoyment in such a barbaric act"

The system spoke in a disappointed tone, the eyes of the dollar bill note rolled to the back of its head as it uttered its thoughts.

The wolf watched on in sheer disbelief, trying to find a sense of purpose and merit to these acts. Yet, it saw and pondered more…it did not find anything in these acts.

Here was just a human being wearing fake hair and clothing that one saw more on the female members of its species insulting people into a strange technology. The person on the receiving end of this scenario wanted more and encouraged this kind of behaviour with more of this "money" that Moros always spoke and thought off.

The more any sane being looked at this arrangement, the more they came to doubt the status of the human race. This could never be a thing of high intelligence.

The human race appeared greedy, brainless and fixated on worldly pleasures, always finding joy and pleasure in things that serve no other purpose than material goods.

Was this the concept of 'capitalism' their host had never grown tired of talking about?

To both of them this entire thing just was more than strange and just in general very, very weird. The tried to see the positive in it, their host got a lot of money out of doing this, but the positives could not outweigh the absolute loss of brain cells they bore witness to.

But what other choice did they have in this scenario? Their hosts was busy and they could simply watch from the sidelines and judge the hell out of everyone involved in this scenario.

That is what they did and that is what they did with their full passion.

If they could not change their hosts or his interests, they sure could assess the situation and learn for the future what not to do. Moros was the perfect host to learn a lot of things regardless of where one came from.

Though nobody could claim that a lot of this knowledge could be useful in any other context. Yet, they were happy about there being some sort of usefulness to this situation other than making them more confused than they already were.

Time passed on by and the stream stretched on and on. The wolf and the system looked at each other, seeking reassurance that they were not the ones lacking sanity.

Any self-respecting creature with a functioning brain could have expected that the concept would change in some shape or form, one would assume even human beings would have grown tired of the same punchline, the same joke being played.

But nooo, over and over again. Did their host crack the same kind of joke, much to the liking of the audience.

More and more viewers seemed to demand the same kind of joke being used and played. Their host gladly provided the insults he took so much pride in.

This did not stop, this repeated all the time. The system could not believe any species could withstand such utter boredom and yet here it was proven wrong by the sheer lack of standards the male members of his species displayed.

Both of them could claim that they were shocked by the things they have seen, but they had given up on the rest of humanity a long while back. This was merely a damage report, a test to see just how lost humans were.

The results were rather obvious, humanity could never be more lost than they already were.

Both of these old existences knew exactly just how wrong this weird species had turned out to be.

At first it was interesting, yet the more they saw the more said it became. They had wanted to poke fun at their decision-making amongst other things, but they did not even want to do such a thing anymore.

They just watched on in silence and in pity for what these species represented.

Once they had believed Moros to be special, to be an outlier of his kind. But they were wrong, very wrong.

He was just a different kind of special, whereas the rest was especially worthless. They had still received one of the best seedlings from a proverbial garbage race filled with garbage beings.

Everywhere they looked and everything they have seen so far, proved this point. There was no hope for this species and the Old god wondered why the new Gods did even bother forming a contract with any other human.

The two of them had to realise that they were just lucky to find one of the few functioning human beings that could be of use to others.

Even if their host's ambition and goals were a bit too tainted by the concept of money that he kept on babbling about, he still was someone that could be shaped into something useful if they tried hard enough.

The same could not be said about the audience members that kept on throwing monster cores at Moros in hopes of being insulted another time. These people could never truly be saved.

Because how could one save them from themselves?

In the end, they simply watched and drew relevant conclusions to take advantage of the humans. It was the only way they could make their host increase in strength rapidly.

Though looking at their hosts, he was already doing a great job at that even without their knowledge or interference, just that his methods were a bit more questionable than the wolf and the system would have liked to admit.

They only hoped that they soon would return to more honourable activities that actually served a purpose, like fighting monsters, saving people.

Instead of doing whatever this streaming activity was, which Moros seemed to enjoy a little too much. As long as he earned enough through his efforts, they could not really complain about his ideas and strategies.

They wanted to talk some sense into their host, but they kept quiet, since his destiny would see him changed whether he liked to or not.

The time passed by ever so slowly and then, it was finally time…the stream had ended and their normal, everyday life full of school and slaughter would begin again.

The two of them were more than happy, they would finally see the human race from their better side again. Maybe they could learn more about the things humanity was good at.

Instead of searching for reasons to wish for the annihilation of mankind.

No words were exchanged as the dollar bill and the wolf just nodded to one another after the stream had ended. They waited for the right moment to remind Moros about his responsibilities and that he should not waste away his youth touring random dungeons.

However, the youth did not care one bit about whatever they had to say. His mind was just enjoying the prospect of earning a lot of money for doing so little.

He ignored everything, which the system and the wolf tried to tell him. He was simply focussed on running to school again because he has forgotten about having to meet Malissa at her own house.

And so their host ran as fast as the wind could carry him, since his testicles were on the line here. If she had been faster he would have lost his deposit balls.

The two followed him without any movements as they could only exist within a sphere of the magic it provided. As their hosts, they automatically returned into his inner perimeter, unless he was dead.

As he ran towards his childhood friend, sweat pouring from his skin…it was the wolf that laughed heartily at the scene that played out in front of him.

"All that was family…" he spoke in earnest, he spoke as if he knew more about what was to happen next!
