Time passed by ever so swiftly as Moros tried his best to keep on killing the Ballas that dared to live in front of his presence.
People came and went, talking about all sorts of things that Moros did not care about in the slightest. He just waited till the clock would turn to nighttime and these people had to go to sleep…since they had real jobs─like losers.
Imagine being flipping normal and living a normal life…how boring does that sound. Moros could not imagine how it would be like to not be in debt to a system or be followed by a wolf obsessed with ripping the souls of his family members from their mortal bodies.
And so Moros covered in blood and guts waved the last people goodbye for today.
After the group walked out they all shot him a glare…it was by sheer coincidence that all the people that stood in his way and hurled insults at him were the very last to enter the dungeon, Moros swore that to be the truth.
His fingers were crossed of course.
A little payback felt appropriate to him, and it was not like waiting for a bit longer had ever killed anyone. If that did ever happen; it surely was not his problem either way.
As the people left the door, Moros was happy to finally be alone, minus the group of criminals that all walked past him towards the secret hideout of Poppycock and disappeared in its depths after knocking a few times.
After a long day of work, he finally had the chance to go deep into the door that had opened while he was gone.
But as fate would have it, there were other plans in store for him. A certain knocking sound took Moros out of his thoughts. With a slight annoyance on his face he made his way to the entry to tell the one in front of it to kindly fuck off.
Moros opened the door with some force to go about his business in a timely manner.
Alas, before he could be rude in a kind way, he was already pushed aside by his childhood friend Malissa.
Moros tried to recollect his thoughts, searching for an explanation why she had appeared here at this time of the day. His memory was good, but it could not quite recall Malissa mentioning coming here this late.
He did not mind her storming into that dungeon of his. The chances were very low that she was doing something that would interfere with his affairs.
She likely just wanted to be away from her Mom, or read some stuff in silence here. Unlike Moros she was not the murder type nor the money type, she simply wanted to live her life in peace.
At least, that had been Moros' view of her until now…yet the moment he saw her, he realised things would be different today.
Instead of her black bikini top and rather short shorts, she was wearing a red blazer, and a dark violet pencil skirt. She had glasses that Moros had never seen on her face. Her skin and complexion too seemed different from usual─as if she had used cosmetic articles on them.
This human in front of him could never be his childhood friend.
Dressed appropriately and wearing make-up; who was this imposter and what had they done to the Malissa he knew?
With an outfit like hers, why had she come to a place as filthy as this? One wrong step would turn this outfit from good to "I am covered in the blood of my enemies" real quick.
Nothing lead faster than literal disaster. The patented Balla usefulness in making everything they were involved with worse for everyone would soon make itself known as it always does.
Yet, Moros' hopes and dreams were shattered yet again, as she began to hand him a mysterious object, which Moros had never seen in his life.
He looked at the object with a hint of confusion, it was round and had like a reflective surface…it looked expensive and appeared as if it could break easily.
"Aight, as promised Moros…I will forgive you, if you are my camera-man for today."
Once again, he was bombarded with words that just sounded funny to him…what in tarnation was a 'camera-man?' Sounded like it was some kind of super- duper, overpowered wizard.
Seeing his usual empty gaze, telling her he did not have a single clue what the hell he was meant to do she sighed and explained it extra slowly again.
"What you hold is a camera, it captures whatever is before it. You hold it steady and aim it at me…so whatever I do is captured by the tool."
Moros held the thing called camera up and aimed at it Malissa.
"The other way…Moros!"
Moros turned it around and aimed it at her again.
The wonders of old technology captured his interest yet again. How could such a puny thing... produce wonders like these? Capturing entire scenes with utter ease? That was unheard of, such a large scale illusion magic packed into a small thing was inconceivable to him.
Not that this type of fascination would stop him from desiring money. The notification informing him about the cost of every breath were more than enough to keep his focus on earning money.
He simply hoped that by following all her antics she would be gone sooner, leaving him with more than enough time to actually earn some dollars.
"Allow me to explain again what will happen today…since you seem to have forgotten about it, to no one's surprise"
Moros wanted to refute these words, though he had to admit Malissa was more than right. He has totally forgotten about her talking about her plans, and he was about to forget it too.
It was a bad habit of his to just turn off his brain, when he deemed the situation too boring or too lacking in importance. His head just simply refused to listen and he stared ahead with empty eyes.
"Okay, you will film me as I am doing my usual stuff here. Don't talk, don't get any stupid ideas, just hold the camera and let me do my stuff…did you get that?"
Moros nodded, he simply needed to hold the object in his hands steady and let Malissa do what she desired. Even in his weird brain state such an easy task was easily done.
Malissa shook her head yet again, her friend may be nodding, but it if it continued like this he would only be nodding off. The guy needed stimulation.
There was no better motivation than the subject of money to Moros, she knew that too.
"Moros, do you know how much money I earn here?"
Moros' ears suddenly paid great attention as his favourite subject was dropped by his childhood friend…why had she not told him prior that one could make money with this?
Malissa saw his newfound attention and understood that the bait had been enough to capture his full brain activity.
"You see, on Elysium there is something like a network of women filming themselves. This platform is used for male magicians to court their favourite female streamer… He does win her favour by throwing money at her…like a true gentleman…"
Moros laughed and Malissa laughed even harder, who in the right mind would throw money at a woman…Moros thought she had cracked a joke…Malissa laughed because she was a woman and about to make bank.
Malissa continued her explanation to ensure that her best friend was giving it his all. The call of money was irresistible to him
"Okay, but seriously…just hold still and let me do my thing. A lot of money is on the line here, so do give me your100% effort and dont be yourself all too much. Just don't cover me in Balla guts or be yourself and everything will be just fine"
Moros nodded yet again, attentively. This was his change to earn some solid money by simply just staying quiet.
His best friend took a few deep breaths, pulled her clothing articles into place and put on the biggest smile that she could muster. She was ready to receive the crowd of paying customers.
She was still a bit nervous; she had just started her streaming career a few days ago, trying to find clues about the whereabouts of Moros.
The small following willing to throw hard earned monster cores at her just came to be by sheer accident.
All of a sudden she has 50 viewers trying to win her over by giving her compliments and throwing some monster cores at her. She had to admit, this kind of attention was truly addicting…and she really needed the money for her future plans.
Without any further interruptions, she gave Moros a wink, indicating that the stream was about to start soon.
Moros, as if he had never done anything different, became as quiet as he could be. He did so as a favour, one that would hopefully be repaid in full, he accepted cash too.
The stream started, Malissa beamed with happiness, she looked at the camera and seemed happy…did she love money as much as himself?
The upcoming stream would change Moros life forevermore…
