The hot spring trip had come to an end.

After a night's rest,Shinichi led Hirito, Minato, and Nonō to a remote, uninhabited area. The three of them watched Hirito expectantly.

Hirito spread his left hand upward, focusing his chakra. In his mind, he shouted the command.

Rasengan!

A bright, spinning blue ball of chakra suddenly formed in his palm.

The sheer force of the rotation caused a small whirlwind to stir around him, making the air dance and their clothes flutter.

Shinichi, Minato, and Nonō all widened their eyes in awe.

They could sense the danger in the high-speed rotating chakra ball. It wasn't just an impressive jutsu—if anyone were hit by it, they'd be either severely injured or worse.

Hirito aimed the Rasengan at a large stone, over two meters tall, and pressed it against the surface.

Chi-chi-chi!

Boom!

A loud explosion echoed as the Rasengan burst against the rock, releasing a blinding white light. The shockwave kicked up dust and sand, temporarily blocking their vision.

As the dust cleared, they could see the result of the attack, and their pupils shrank in shock.

Minato swallowed hard. "That's… incredible."

The large rock was completely obliterated, reduced to fine rubble. Most of its mass had disappeared, pulverized by the Rasengan's intense force.

"The power of this ninjutsu…" Shinichi muttered, his expression serious. "Even a Jōnin would lose their combat effectiveness if they were hit by this. And it's a Muji Ninjutsu—no hand seals required."

Shinichi's mind raced as he tried to process this. Isn't the Hyuga clan known for their Gentle Fist techniques? I've never heard of them using something like this. Could it be a secret technique of the Hyuga family?

"Are you sure it's okay for you to teach me this jutsu, Hirito?" Minato asked again, his voice filled with doubt. "I don't want to cause any trouble for you."

Before Hirito could respond, Shinichi stepped in, his tone serious. "Hirito, you can't just teach a powerful jutsu like this to someone outside your clan, even if they're a teammate. Sharing family secrets can bring trouble to both you and Minato."

Shinichi's gaze flickered to the "Caged Bird" curse mark on Hirito's forehead. He didn't mention it out loud but hoped Hirito would understand his concern.

Hirito noticed the look and understood what Shinichi was implying. After a brief pause, he decided to explain part of the truth.

"Shinichi-sensei, I actually developed this jutsu myself," Hirito confessed. "My uncle said it's reached the level of an A-rank ninjutsu."

He glanced at his teammates before continuing. "I've already handed it over to the family, but it doesn't prevent me from teaching it to Minato."

The three of them exchanged stunned glances.

They hadn't expected such a powerful technique to have been created by Hirito himself.

Shinichi was especially shocked. Master Kenjiro considers it an A-rank ninjutsu... And Hirito's only nine years old! Developing A-rank ninjutsu at that age… Shinichi was in awe. He, a Special Jōnin, had only mastered a few A-rank techniques himself.

After taking a moment to process it all, Shinichi spoke up again, his voice more solemn. "Even so, Hirito, you still can't teach this jutsu to Minato. You said yourself that Rasengan has now become a secret technique of the Hyuga family. Without permission from the family elders, passing it on could bring a lot of trouble."

"Even if I developed it myself?" Hirito frowned.

"These are the rules of ninjas," Shinichi explained with a grave expression. "In the world of ninjas, the highest priority is to follow the rules and regulations of your clan or village."

Hirito's frown deepened.

To him, Rasengan was his creation, and he believed he had the right to teach it to whomever he pleased. But Shinichi was telling him that he needed his family's permission to do so. This discrepancy in values was clear to Hirito, and it irritated him.

At the same time, Hirito recognized what this represented: the monopoly over ninjutsu knowledge. Compared to clan-based shinobi, civilian ninjas had far fewer opportunities to access techniques.

Still, Hirito could understand the logic from the clan's perspective. Why would they want to spread techniques they had painstakingly developed to outsiders? Especially without something valuable in return.

He understood the rationale but didn't agree with it. To him, the more people who learned a jutsu, the more they could improve it, fill in the gaps, and innovate. It was only through collective learning that techniques could evolve and reach their full potential.

But Hirito also knew that he wasn't in a position to challenge the system yet. Both he and Minato lacked the strength and influence to break the long-established rules of the ninja world.

With a sigh, Hirito finally said, "I agree that following the rules is important. But it's just as important to know when to break them."

"If we always stuck to the old rules, the First Hokage would never have allied with the Uchiha to end the Warring States Period and create Konoha."

Shinichi couldn't argue with that. Hirito's words were politically correct, and he couldn't refute the example of the First Hokage.

But Shinichi also understood what Hirito was really saying.

"At the right time, you have to be willing to break the rules…" Shinichi mused quietly.

Minato, however, was quick to respond. "It's okay, Hirito. If teaching me Rasengan would cause you trouble, then I don't want to learn it."

Minato was a true friend—he wouldn't do anything to bring harm or hardship to Hirito.

Nonō, who had been silent until now, suddenly looked worried. "Wait, does that mean I'll get in trouble for learning Shunpo from Hirito?"

"Shunpo?" Shinichi asked curiously.

"It's a movement technique I developed by modifying the Body Flicker Technique," Hirito explained.

Intrigued, Shinichi had Nonō demonstrate it. After watching her use the technique, he noticed its advantages and drawbacks. Shunpo was smoother than the standard Body Flicker, but it also required much more precise chakra control, making it difficult for most ninjas to learn.

Despite this, Shinichi recognized its value. "It's an improved version of the Body Flicker Technique—it enhances your mobility without making you as rigid as the original. That will help Nonō's survivability."

He smiled slightly. "This won't be a problem. But Hirito, when it comes to powerful, signature ninjutsu like Rasengan, you need to be cautious about teaching it to others. There are rules for a reason."

Hirito nodded in agreement, though inwardly, he had his own thoughts.

Just then, Nonō's eyes lit up as she recalled something Hirito had said earlier. "Wait a minute, Hirito—you said it was the First Hokage and Uchiha who joined forces to end the Warring States Period and create Konoha? Is that true? I've never heard that in school."

(End of the Chapter).
