Chapter 112 - 108, Minotaur Raid Battle (2)

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The deafening roar of explosions shattered the stillness of the night sky.

In an instant, a dozen unlucky humans were blown to smithereens by piercing explosives. Bone shards and flesh splattered in every direction, wounding nearby comrades and drawing agonized screams from their lips.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

With the overwhelming power of his cybernetic muscle enhancers, the towering figure of Zaire charged into the enemy ranks like a raging storm.

Splat!

A single, casual swing of his massive gauntlet obliterated an enemy's upper body in one strike. Without hesitation, Zaire turned the barrels embedded in his gauntlets toward the remaining foes.

Boom!

Another explosive round erupted, shattering multiple overlapping human torsos with a single shot. Within seconds, the gunfire around the hulking figure of Zaire's armor began to dwindle until it ceased entirely.

The only remaining sound was the distant howl of laser fire from the ship's upper decks.

At the landing site, a scene of carnage unfolded. Dozens of enemies who dared to oppose Zaire were now nothing more than scattered pieces of flesh and blood.

"We surrender! Please, we surrender!"

Three trembling human bodyguards, their pants soaked, dropped their weapons and collapsed to their knees on the blood-drenched deck. Terror etched on their faces, they begged the mechanical giant for mercy.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Zaire's heavy footsteps reverberated as he approached them in silence.

Click!

He reloaded his gauntlet's explosive rounds while his deep, gravelly voice broke the tense air.

"How many superpowered individuals are in your ranks?"

One of the bodyguards, a pale, shivering man, glanced at the mutilated corpses strewn across the deck and swallowed hard. "W-We… actually, we all are. B-But only minor enhancements—strength and healing, that's all."

Zaire tilted his head slightly and scanned the bodies scattered on the deck, falling silent for a moment. Then, he pointed to the occasional flashes of lasers streaking through the dark sky.

"What about the one flying with laser eyes?"

Before the pale man could answer, another bodyguard frantically shuffled forward on his knees, forcing a strained, nervous smile.

"That's one of the boss's top men! We're just the hired help, I swear! Oh, and… watch out for our squad leader—she's also one of the boss's top lieutenants. She has incredibly powerful abilities, controlling magnetic fields and metal…"

Zaire gave a curt nod, showing no emotion. He reached for the gravity chute strapped to his back and tossed it onto the deck. At the same time, he retrieved a Gauss disintegration rifle, its transparent barrel glowing with an eerie green light.

Against such varied superhuman abilities, only the cold, mechanical precision of a weapon like this would suffice.

"You…"

Just as Zaire began to speak, a searing barrage of lasers ripped through the protective force field in front of him. The storm of laser fire instantly reduced the surrendering bodyguards to nothing more than a red mist.

"Boss, deck's clear!"

A nervous yet excited voice crackled in Zaire's ear. He glanced at the approaching figure of Jessica, her rookie armor still radiating heat from the Hellgun she carried. He didn't seem to mind her minor blunder.

Sigh.

Zaire exhaled and issued a new command.

"Jessica, head to the lower decks. Eliminate hostiles and evacuate innocent crew members."

"Understood!"

Jessica saluted, gripping her Hellgun tightly as she sprinted toward a nearby hatch.

Once her armored form disappeared from view, Zaire surveyed the now-empty deck. He lowered his head in thought, recalling the layout of the ship from memory, and sprinted toward the upper decks.

Boom!

A minute later, a heavy internal hatch was torn apart by Zaire's massive gauntlets. The metal door screeched in protest before being flung to the ground.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Fragments of metal suddenly shot up from the ground, as if alive, and pelted Zaire's force field relentlessly. At the end of the brightly lit corridor, a pale, white-haired girl emerged from the shadows.

Her expression blank, she raised a trembling hand, sending spinning shards of metal crashing against Zaire's protective barrier, desperately trying to breach it.

But the high-grade force field of the Huntsman-class armor was no match for her magnetic manipulations.

Before Zaire could lift his weapon, the girl, realizing her attacks were ineffective, shifted tactics.

"Argh!"

She raised her other hand, her nose bleeding profusely as she channeled magnetic energy directly into Zaire's armor. Invisible forces seeped past the barrier, causing the metal components of his suit to groan and twist.

Creak…

Yet with immense physical strength and the assistance of his cybernetic muscles, Zaire managed to raise his Gauss rifle and pull the trigger.

Zap!

A devastating green beam tore through the corridor, striking the girl square in the chest. She didn't even have time to scream before her body disintegrated into glowing green particles, leaving behind only a faint mist of atoms.

Clink. Clink. Clink.

As the metal shards clattered to the floor, Zaire glanced down at his rifle and muttered to himself.

"Maybe I'm starting to like these Necron toys better than the explosive gauntlets…"

Returning to silence, Zaire marched deeper into the corridor. His massive frame soon stopped before a lavishly decorated metal door.

Zap! Zap! Zap!

Without hesitation, he fired multiple green beams at the door, the corrosive energy quickly reducing the metal to molten slag.

Boom!

As the last pieces of the door fell, Zaire stepped into the private chamber of Dario Agger, the owner of Roxxon Industries.

What greeted him, however, wasn't what he expected.

The opulent room was a scene of grotesque slaughter. Bodies of men, women, and children—board members of Roxxon, judging by their fine clothing—were strewn across the room, their blood soaking into the richly patterned wooden floor.

At the center of this macabre scene sat a minotaur in a tailored suit, comfortably lounging in an executive chair. Its eyes gleamed with hunger as it gnawed on a severed human arm. In its other hand, it held a crystalline orb radiating swirling, colorful energy.

"Welcome to my lair, mortal scum…" the minotaur growled, its voice dripping with malice. "You dare—"

Zap! Zap! Zap!

Before it could finish, green beams from Zaire's Gauss rifle lit up the room, hurtling straight at the monstrous figure.
