Chapter 69 - Chapter 70 Kidnapping

With Kevera's reminder, Lyon came up with an idea to deal with Woodbury and the Governor.

The next morning, he left Team Glenn and Team Daryl to continue to strengthen the prison's defenses, and he, Cavella, and Peggy drove together, following the instructions on the map, and after a few hours, they arrived near the town of Woodbury.

This is a typical American tourist town that integrates the architectural styles of many European and American countries. It is mainly low-rise villas. The houses are loose, the land is vast and sparsely populated, and there are not many high-rise apartments. The entire town has churches, hospitals, squares, and parks. It has a beautiful environment and lush vegetation. It is indeed a good place for ordinary people to live.

Lyon and others parked the car on the edge of the town and quickly cleared out a private villa with a yard using cold weapons.

With the help of Peggy and Sherman's military reconnaissance drone, they searched for more than ten minutes and found the so-called Woodbury Camp in the southwest corner of the town.

This is a closed community formed by blocking both ends of the street with large trucks, tires, wooden boards and other debris.

Through the camera of the reconnaissance drone, Leon saw that most of the survivors on the street were still the same as before the disaster. Some were basking in the sun, some were tidying up the grass, and some were gathered together chatting happily. He could even see one or two elderly people in wheelchairs and children running happily on the streets.

Such a scene made Lyon and others speechless. Now it seems that this so-called Woodbury Camp is actually a waste.

Their survivors were protected in this closed community, and food, weapons, and security were all found by an armed team led by Governor Philip.

The other remaining members actually had no substantial significance. They were even still living the idle life before the disaster. They neither thought about expanding their territory and building safer shelters, nor did they think about storing more supplies and producing food to cope with future life.

"I heard that you want to learn how to fly a helicopter, right?"

The boy nodded rapidly.

Sherman's eyes lit up. He had long wanted to learn how to drive these big guys. The strong boy said a little embarrassedly:

"Mr. Custer, I also want to learn how to drive a tank from Colonel William. Is that okay?"

Moreover, the man named Governor, who had attracted Lyon's special attention, was not in the convoy.

"No problem, Mr. Custer. I'll follow your instructions."

They lurked quietly until the next morning, when Peggy found Leon with dark circles under her eyes and told him excitedly that the Woodbury camp had finally sent out an exploration team consisting of 12 people and four cars, which were heading south along the edge of the town.

"They may have a few good days in the short term."

"Don't let them find anything unusual. If they send out a small team, notify me."

In fact, they don't know that if they encounter some slightly stronger plunderers, everything here will be destroyed, and they will become slaves or playthings, or more often corpses.

Leon nodded with satisfaction. He actually admired this smart and strong little girl. Not only was she an excellent student at the Polytechnic University, but she was also extremely obedient, brave, kind, able to endure hardships, had strong work ability, and was proficient in the control and cracking of electronic products. Like her brother, she was a good employee that the boss could trust.

Sherman, who was strong and honest, scratched his head and whispered to his sister:

"You will be our second pilot for Umbrella Corporation."

Time passed quickly. Perhaps it was because they came at the wrong time. All day long, Woodbury did not send out any team to explore externally.

Peggy clenched her fists, nodded and promised:

"Don't worry, boss. I will complete the task you assigned me and keep a close eye on them."

Hearing this, Kevila looked up and rolled his eyes at Leon, but did not object and continued reading his novel.

Like a group of canaries in a cage, they were deceived by the sweet words of Governor Philips, living in lies, thinking that they are now very safe and very free.

Peggy glanced at Leon secretly, and a blush crept up on her face. She glared at her brother, snorted and said:

"Stupid, the people here have been raised to be useless."

Daryl's team arrived near the town in the afternoon and, under Leon's command, stationed in a hidden forest.

After observing for more than ten minutes and figuring out the actual situation in Woodbury, Lyon quickly lost interest.

"No problem, that's a good thing."

Sherman rubbed his head in a naive manner and glanced at his sister. The girl secretly glared at him, and he replied in a naive voice:

"Not everyone can have the long-term vision and lofty ideals like Mr. Custer."

"We need to follow them and capture their fighters."

"But what awaits them in the end is definitely a tragic ending."

Leon nodded, thought for a moment and said:

"I think this will reduce unnecessary killings."

"Sherman, you have such talent. I will support you. Your talent will bring greater value to Umbrella Corporation."

"Sherman, you have a talent for operating machines. After a while, I will select some young people to form a special drone combat team."

"Peggy, I'll transfer Daryl's team over here. I'd like you to help me keep an eye on the situation in Woodbury."

"Given the condition of this camp, if they lose those armed personnel, they will become a group of lambs to be slaughtered."

"I hope that as the captain, you can help me train them. They will become a powerful force in our Umbrella Corporation."

He pointed at Kevila, who had been leaning on a sofa, lazily reading a novel, and said:

"When you are free, you can go to Ms. Kevila for advice. She will teach you how to fly a helicopter."

Leon showed a gentle smile on his face. He pulled Peggy, who wanted to teach her brother a lesson, and said:

"Haha, no problem. I am a person who pays great attention to talents."

Hearing the two people whispering, Leon came over with a smile on his face, touched Peggy's smooth and soft golden hair, and said to the strong Sherman:

"After a few years, the existing supplies will be consumed or rot. This group of humans, who have no fighting power and no access to food, will either die out or become predators."

"Sister, are those people in there living too leisurely? They seem to have forgotten that this is the apocalypse. I also saw some women mowing the grass. Is there any point in doing this now?"

He turned to Peggy and whispered:

Leon was very happy to hear the news. He touched Peggy's little head as a reward and took out a bag of high-end chocolate from his pocket and gave it to the girl as a reward.

Then he took everyone out of the villa and notified Daryl's team to join them. They used reconnaissance drones in the sky to quietly track the exploration team all the way.

Finally, an hour later, they approached the team on a plain about ten kilometers away from Woodbury.
