Chapter 63 - Chapter 63 Criminals

Under Glenn's control, the armed mechanical dog flashed lights, sang strange music, and grunted into the cell door.

In the dim darkness, the remote control device's display screen showed the armed mechanical dog's route, and the camera installed in front of it recorded the situation in the cell very well.

  Click, click.

It sounded like leather shoes rubbing against the ground. The armed mechanical dog played music and moved forward more than ten meters in the darkness. Glenn soon saw from the camera that a group of four or five zombies slowly turned a corner and walked towards it, roaring.

Seeing the steel turtle on the ground that was just over half a meter tall, all the zombies became slightly dazed.

Before they could react, the armed mechanical dog had adjusted the position of the gun, aimed at the heads of the zombies, and began shooting fiercely.

  Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

The muzzle of the gun, which was modified from a sawed-off shotgun, burst out with tiny steel balls one after another, directly blasting the head and upper body of the zombie closest to it into a pile of minced meat.

This muzzle was Leon's suggestion. The armed mechanical dog they designed was not equipped with advanced auxiliary shooting programs and could not accurately hit the enemy. In this case, it would be better to use a short-handled shotgun with a larger attack range to shoot.

As long as the attack range is large enough and the firepower is strong enough, it should be possible to cause a devastating attack on these zombies.

  Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Glenn controlled the armed mechanical dog and fired more than a dozen shots in a row. A large number of steel balls shot out, and finally the small group of zombies in front of him were all beaten into minced meat.

But the explosion of gunpowder and the clanging sound of countless steel balls hitting the wall were like a thunderclap, which immediately woke up all the zombies hiding in the darkness.

As the lights of the armed mechanical dogs flickered, dozens of zombies poked their heads out from different corners. They seemed to be evil spirits crawling out of hell, dragging their rotten and broken bodies, crowding together, and rushing towards the place where the loudest sound was.

Outside the cell, Glenn, who was controlling the armed mechanical dog, swallowed his saliva. Facing such a large group of zombies, he directly turned the power of the mechanical dog to maximum, and while desperately shooting at the group of zombies, he controlled the machine to move towards the cell door.

It's not that he was afraid that the armed mechanical dog would be damaged by the zombies, but he felt that once the mechanical dog was crushed by these zombies, given the structure of its wheels, it would be difficult for it to get back from the zombie group.

Glenn controlled the robot dog and shouted to the team members:

"Form a firing formation and prepare for battle. The zombies are about to come out."

Judy stood beside Glenn holding an assault rifle, staring at the dark cell door, and asked:

"Captain, how many zombies are there in there?"

Glenn was operating the armed mechanical dog in a somewhat flustered manner, but his voice was not panicked at all, and he answered:

"Don't worry, there should be no more than 50 zombies in there. We only need one round of shooting to kill them all."

He had just finished speaking when, amid the sound of strange music, a large group of zombies rounded the corner in the darkness, chasing an oval-shaped metal figure covered in flesh and blood, and appeared in the sight of Glenn's team.

Glenn quickly put down the controller in his hand, grabbed his assault rifle, stood in the shooting team, and shouted.

  "Shoot! Shoot! Kill them all."

The members of Glenn's team followed the order and started shooting.

  Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap!

The sound of bullets being fired from assault rifles became continuous. All the team members held their breath and quickly empty their magazines.

Dozens of rifles, hundreds of bullets, and just one minute later, all the zombies that rushed out of the cells turned into corpses underground.

Glenn breathed a sigh of relief. He patted Judy's head, who was still immersed in the tension of the battle. The members of the opening team said:

"Don't let your guard down just yet. I'll send the mechanical dog in to test the area. Only when the zombies inside are completely cleared out can we consider our mission complete."

As veteran members of the security department, they were all old hands who had carried out many missions with Lyon. Leaving aside other skills, they had learned all about Lyon's cautiousness and prudence in doing things.

With the help of armed mechanical dogs, Glenn's team spent nearly three hours clearing out all the zombies in the prison.

To the surprise of Glenn and others, they found five living survivors, or perhaps criminals, in the prison's public cafeteria.

Adhering to the Umbrella Corporation's usual principle of caution, they used weapons to control the five people, tied them all up, and took them to the prison yard.

Judy held the assault rifle and looked at the five men openly.

There were two strong black men, one tall and one short, a middle-aged white man with an unshaven beard, a thin black man with shifty eyes, and a white young man who looked very cunning.

The girl frowned, walked to Glenn, and whispered:

"Captain, these people were all criminals before, and some of them don't look like good people. Should we take them in too?"

Glenn also frowned. As a law-abiding citizen, he also didn't like these former criminals, but his conscience made him feel uneasy if he was left to fend for himself.

Fortunately, he is just a small team leader, not the head of Umbrella Corporation. When he encounters difficulties like this, he has someone to ask.

Glenn winked at the girl, indicating that Judy should continue to watch over these people, while he took out his walkie-talkie and went to a remote place.

"Boss, boss, this is Glenn, can you hear me?"

After shouting two or three times, there was a response from the intercom.

"Glenn, this is Leon Custer, what happened?"

Glenn briefly recounted their experience cleaning up the prison and told the story of these five criminals.

"I haven't asked them about their experiences yet, fearing they might be lying and wondering what crimes they may have committed during peacetime."

"Boss, what do you think we should do with them?"

The sound from the intercom was silent for more than ten seconds before it continued to come out.

"You continue to stay in the prison, strengthen the fortifications inside, and keep those criminals locked up."

"I expect to come here with a team in three days."

There was a hint of inexplicable meaning in Leon's voice.

"That prison you're in is in a great location."

  "It's both safe and private."

"It will serve as a base for our Umbrella Corporation."

"Stay there and wait for us to come."

After turning off the walkie-talkie, Leon felt a little complicated in the Umbrella base.

He guessed where the prison that Glenn found was. As a very important place in the plot, many stories had happened there, involving many forces and people.

When mentioning that prison, many images flashed through Leon's mind.

Governor, Hammer God, Sasha, Tara, Terminal.

In troubled times, talents are very important. If possible, he will try his best to save those who are worth saving.

Only when there are enough talented people will mankind have the strength to rebuild their home.
