Chapter 16 - Rexadurus Loot

[How many do you wish to withdraw? Issue command with voice]

"All"

A dim blue glow suddenly materialized in front of Mark and from it came what he had summoned–Silverine Spider Legs.

The bony legs all fell in unison, with the Rexadurus in their path of descent, many struck, disorienting it and having it fall to the ground.

There was a thump, the Rexadurus on the ground with spider legs, some of them fixed upright, stuck into the soil.

Mark stretched his neck, and right below, he spotted his adversary soaked in its own blood as a leg went through its abdomen, and another through its chest.

Its mouth was opened with its tongue hanging it, crowning its miserable death. Blood had poured from its mouth, and it was limp.

Mark's eyes widened in elation, his grip on the branch tightened as adrenaline coursed through him.

"Yes!" He cried.

Ding*

[You've killed the Rexadurus, your life is still yours]

[Do you want to loot its corpse]

Mark let out a sigh of relief, and with a smile, he answered.

"Yes"

As soon as he did, a white ball of blinding light appeared above the corpse and poured on it, sweeping through and basking it. The light disappeared soon after and nothing of the Rexadurus remains stayed.

[You've successfully looted a Rexadurus]

[You have new items in your Inventory]

Mark then began to climb down, he landed lightly on his feet and dusted away woody bits that were on him.

He walked to the legs, those standing were as tall as he was, and he was a man of 5 feet and 11 inches.

Those that had pierced through the Rexadurus didn't even have blood on them. The loot ability had taken every bit for itself.

In the middle of it all, another message stormed into his mind.

[You're in close proximity with Silverine Fanged Spider legs, do you want to deposit this item?]

[Yes/No]

Mark let out an exasperated sigh and picked the obvious choice.

"Yes"

The legs suddenly glowed with white, and they disappeared under a fraction of a second.

[You have new items in your inventory]

The message resurfaced.

"Hmmm…" The message piqued Mark's curiosity and he opened his inventory.

Silverine Fanged Spider legs wasn't after Silverine Fanged Spider eyes as previous, it now stayed in the last spot telling that the inventory stores in time the items were received.

"Silverine Fanged Spider eyes"

His eyes darted around his inventory.

[Silverine Fanged Spider fangs x 2]

[Silverine Fanged Spider skin x 2 rolls]

"And" Once Mark saw the last slot, his face squeezed in disgust over it.

[Silverine Fanged Spider flesh x 6]

Then there was the loot from the Rexadurus. A number of items from its loot.

[Rexadurus set of Teeth x 1]

[Rexadurus bones x 27]

[Rexadurus eyes x 2]

[Rexadurus Fur x 4 rolls]

[Rexadurus Blood x 3 cups]

[Rexadurus Flesh x 11]

"These will definitely prove useful." Mark uttered and began walking back to where he had come from, his eyes fixed on the stick that leaned on a tree–his stick.

He took a hold of it, and a sense of security befell him.

Ding*

[You are in close proximity with a large stick]

[Do you want to deposit]

[Yes/No]

"Hmmm…" Mark cupped his chin, lost in thought as he tried deciding which option was better, having it in his hands in real time or saving it in his inventory.

Having it in his hands has made him feel more confident and safe around, not to mention that it could possibly scare away hostile creatures. On the other hand, having it in his inventory will ensure better safekeeping, he wouldn't need to worry about leaving it far from him like he had done which almost cost him his life, and he wouldn't need to carry it in his hands having him save energy that would be used to lift it.

The answer was clear, at least to Mark.

"Yes" he answered and the stick became white and immediately disappeared.

The effect was surreal and Mark was amazed.

[You have a new item in your inventory]

"I know." He said with a sigh.

"It's time to move."

And once again the young man in goblin's clothing continued his journey, travelling through the Ansi forest without a care in the world, until night came and his eyes needed their much deserved shut-eye.

He took to rest beneath the canopy of a tree, and withdrew his trusty stick, hugging it by his side as caution.

Peace and serenity befell him, and he lost himself to the night.

Then out of nowhere in the cold night, a voice reached him.

"Interesting." It said, and Mark's eyes shot open vigilantly, he materialized the stick, and his grip on it tightened and he looked about trying to pinpoint where the voice had come from.

"No need to be hostile, I only came to check whose soul had piqued my interest in these parts, it rarely ever happens and when it does, I indulge myself."

The voice was sly and moved like a cold steady breeze. It took a while for Mark to notice, but the creature hadn't been speaking to him directly, his voice had a similar effect to the messages that popped up in his mind.

The creature whatever it was was telepathically relaying messages to his mind.

"Oh, you have discovered. You're a smart one."

"Show yourself!" Mark yelled, holding forward his pointy stick.

"Oh really… You would have to do what I ask if I do."

Mark didn't respond, he squinted his eyes looking about when his eyes darted back and in front of him was the creature, a wide mischievous grin on its face.
