[Ring of Count Damarian]
[Active-12:38]
He had only spent about two minutes making a mess out of them, and yet it had felt like an hour.
He took deep breaths, exhaled and inhaled with intent and his eyes closed. He brought up his pale hands, observing them.
"Hmmm…" although his hands were larger now, they appeared to be skinny, like his bones were just beneath his ghastly skin.
He sighed and dropped his hands, he looked up to the dark clouds, and there he noticed that the soddening effect was no more, an ounce of the feeling of dullness wasn't within him, and he had his color.
'It must have some resistances.'
He thought to open his information sheet and to check his stats.
[Ability] [Skills] [Map]
[Affinity] [Stats]
[Quest]. [Inventory]
He clicked on the map tab with his mind and it opened to reveal that of the forest as it did previously. He was hoping that perhaps his new form would alter it a little and probably provide insight.
[Ability]
[The Goddess's Eye]
[Wings of the night]
[Phantom Walk]
With a focus of his mind on the tab, the tabs expanded. He noticed that these new tabs were rather faint in their appearance compared to his Goddess's Eye ability.
'Perhaps because they only work for the duration that I'm this.'
[Wings of the night]: Shadows harvested from the spirits of those taken coalesce to form your wings, their death your means to soar.
'Flight? That's super cool. I'll do just that.'
[Phantom Walk]: The ethereal essence of your being dissolves into the void, allowing you to drift unseen and untouched through the barriers of the physical realm.
'Ohh, two cool super edgy abilities, as expected of a vampire.'
He looked around and saw no one nor nothing around, aside the mutilated bodies of the women he had just killed.
His eyes fell on them, and he felt no tinge of sympathy nor pity nor fear, he felt nothing, infact, there was the subtle urge to do more killing.
He looked to the sky and lifted his long powerful arms. He closed his eyes, and his mind sank into his new body, connecting to every bit of his new form like he had always been such.
He felt energy surged within him, energy that pulled and craved to swallow more, energy that was cold and distant, but energy regardless.
His body swole with the ethereal energy and underneath his arms, a sheet of thick darkness fell to his feet, and he swung them.
His feet left the ground and to the dark above he went.
He went past the buildings, the clouds were just some meters away but he feared to near them. The dark ring of clouds and the lightning sparks that intermittently struck gave an eerie feeling and even in this body, he was not brave enough to explore it.
He then saw the portal, or just a portal ahead, bright and massive, extremely hard to miss. This one however had things coming on it, people in brooms, people with wings and those that can soar without.
The portal itself was atop a building, slanting and swallowing a side of the dull building.
With the multitude that came from it, and the bold purple hue that encompassed the surrounding, it felt like some evil was about to ensue.
Mark heard crackles as he got closer, it came from the lot that came from the portal, and they appeared to be coming for him.
Once he realized this, his mantle of darkness thickened and his flight became faster and stronger. He soared through the sky as if he always had.
He stretched his hands revealing the thin and long claws that crowned his fingers. There was no way for him to beat them all even in this seemingly invincible form, but he could break through a number of them and make it through the portal.
They were in the hundreds and they came at him.
There was a crackle, and a blue streak of lightning stormed forward at him. His heightened senses picked the path of the lightning before it struck, and just a little turn of his back had him avoid the destructive magic.
Then more came at him. He spun through the sky, dodging streaks of lightning and balls of fire.
The mages of the group were unrelenting with their magical attacks. Until he closed in on them.
He had no idea if he was powerful enough to kill them in a swoop, but once he was close and he struck forward with his hands, jets of blood came from torn flesh, and over a dozen died in that attack. He had swiftly, almost invisibly struck his fingers through the first set, and all of them had their blood spilled and fell.
He smirked. Another set of them came forward, however not mages this time around. They were hellbent on not having him pass and he was sure he hadn't wronged them, so why the hostility?
He concluded that it must be the final obstacle to cross before he can go beyond.
He snarled, his face contorted to that of a monster overflowing with bloodlust.
His first victim was a stone gargoyle, it too possessed superhuman strength, but a punch to the head from Mark turned it limp instantly and it fell and scattered once it crashed on the ground.
He dodged blows, blocked some and returned some as well. He made quick work of the bunch and continued his flight forward.
However there were still hundreds of them in his path.
'Perhaps thinking I could have burst through them was a little too optimistic'
He thought holding back a wry smile. This was going to be tough.
