Ditun strode angrily through the dark corridor, with just a dim glow from the flickering blue lights perched on the wall.
His fist was clenched at his side, and his usual deep brown eyes had completely turned red, a dark crimson shade that could scare any mortal.
"Lucifer," Ditun cursed, his lips twisting in fury.
The heat he felt all over him almost made him want to take off his mask, but instead, he clenched his fist at his side.
He had taken the tablet but could not, despite what it says, go ahead to destroy any kingdom or take lives, bringing more souls to that devil.
He almost laughed in mockery, as if he wasn't a devil himself. Instead, he had gone to visit that devil and, well, received a fitting welcome.
Now, he could feel most of his powers leaving him. It was all because of Lucifer. He growled, pausing just when he had almost reached Dalia's room.
He took a deep breath. What on earth was he walking towards her room for? Or was it because he feared that Lucifer would come to harm her?
He shook his head and began to walk away. There was no need to come face to face with her while consumed by this anger and fury, as it would only cause her to fear him.
Despite being accustomed to the hate directed towards him by humans, the thought of his wife fearing him stirred an unpleasant feeling in the pit of his stomach. It made him want to unleash more anger onto the world.
He clicked his tongue together, contemplating that perhaps with time she would come to understand him. However, he decided that he would only allow her to do so once she had come to trust him and know that he would never harm her, no matter what.
"Darn it," Ditun paused on his way down the corridor. All the anger bubbling inside him had somehow transferred to his hand. As the anger overcame him, he fisted his hand against the wall, hitting the black marble with such force that it cracked.
His eyes soon stung with tears, refusing to fall. These tears emerged because the anger and pain building inside him had become too overwhelming.
"I am not like you or your minions," he cursed, hating his life and how it had turned out.
Damn, he didn't want to do evil. He had tried so hard to stray from it for many years. Although this had greatly weakened his power, he had still found other ways to obtain power – by fighting against the evil ones, those who did not deserve to live.
However, taking and manipulating innocent lives was not in any way like him. He had never grown up that way despite all the hate and resentment directed towards him.
After punching the wall for a while, Ditun let it go and took a few steps back to observe the damage he had caused.
A sigh escaped his lips; he really needed to keep his anger in check. If his wife were to find out about his anger, she would surely flee from the palace.
"Argh!" he cursed. Why did she always come into his head? He was never one to be swayed by distractions. He never cared about any human, for crying out loud. The reason he wanted the plague to stop spreading was that he didn't want Lucifer to win in his life. But Dalia – why was she suddenly a concern? Why was he scared about what would happen to her?
Shaking his head, he refused to accept this as his nature. He needed to stop thinking about that human. "Why did you marry her?" his inner voice screamed at him. Perhaps it was just curiosity, or maybe anger that this humans believed he was the one committing evil acts, killing and destroying lives.
Ditun began striding towards his room. For now, he needed to clear his head and think about what to do next. He wouldn't let Lucifer win in any way. The only thing he feared was Dalia; she was his now, which might make Lucifer more interested in her.
The guards at the entrance of his corridor bowed to him, but he didn't acknowledge them as his thoughts had gotten the better of him. It was their boundary, after all, not to come to his side of the palace for no reason.
He walked along the lone dark corridor, where only one light at the end barely glowed. Considering how much power he had used while fighting Lucifer, he was too weakened to illuminate the place with lights.
As he drew nearer, he felt his blood beginning to pump, as if excited for something. This was the same way he felt when his wife had summoned him to the forest. But that couldn't be possible; there was no way an ordinary human could summon him. Yet, it had happened.
He would have asked Maximum and Makita for answers, but those curious demons would watch over his wife and discover her true nature. He preferred to find out for himself without seeking help from anyone. After all, they were Lucifer's minions, never to be trusted.
His heart began beating fast, which was strange. He tilted his head and squinted ahead, sensing that something was off. As he got closer, he paused, eyes widening as a quick mix of fear and curiosity washed over him.
In front of him stood his wife, looking more beautiful than he had ever seen her before. Her brown eyes gleamed in the faint yellow light, her silk top clinging to her body accentuating her curves. The mere sight of her stirred something inside him, his p*nis hardening against his black satin trousers.
Shifting his gaze from her body to her face, he tried hard not to be distracted by his wife.
"Di," she whispered upon seeing him, her gaze moving up from the floor after hearing his approaching footsteps.
Ditun stiffened – her sweet, angelic voice only made things worse as it settled deep in his stomach, shaking places he didn't know he could feel.
Who was she? Why was he feeling so new and drawn to her? Was this sensation real or just a trick of his mind?
