"That was something."
"Sure was." Leaping off of the floating sits, Eleven headed back in the building.
Being a reaper had it's perks, even if Two was injured, she was gonna be up and about in twenty or thirty minutes as this wasn't really that of a serious fight.
Tomorrow was a big day for Eleven, so he needed some rest.
After locking his room door, he instantly collapsed on his comfortable bed before sleep overtook him.
...
Despite being fatigued, Eleven didn't need a knock to wake him, which made it so that when it ultimately resounded he'd already finished all his morning routines and gotten ready. Only waiting for the go ahead of the mission which was scheduled for today.
Opening his room door, he found Two standing by the side, a smile retained on her smooth face which one couldn't have guessed was battered a few hours ago, though he shrugged it off and gazed at her outfit. Instead of a silver armor which she was supposed to be in if they were assigned a mission, she wore a regular outfit. A pink top and black trouser, both clinged tightly on her skin. Seeing this, Eleven's mood darkened. Judging by her casual dress up, he couldn't help but think that the mission he was so eager to go on was delayed.
Two seemed to notice this which made her lips curl up even more before finally deciding to break the silence hanging in the atmosphere. She would've really wanted to tease him now, but today was not the day.
"We're not going in as reapers."
Hearing that Eleven didn't say anything as he immediately locked the door after which he walked towards his closet to the right of his room and began scavenging for a descent attire.
He knew what she meant as in all organisation from his previous life tended to act the same.
For some missions they would stealthy execute while for others they would even announce their target and the specific time they planned their execution. Even though not quite exactly similar, it was a cross comparison and right now they seemed to be leaning towards the former, this being the reason he didn't question or argue.
...
After about a minute the door cracked open as he walked out clad in a blue cotton shirt and grey trousers where he found Two hovering above his door like she was on an imaginary bed.
"That was fast." Gazing at him, she pointed out.
"How long is a cloth change supposed to take?" Watching her land, Eleven asked sarcastically, though he didn't desire to hear her answer as he changed the subject. "Where to?"
Excluding earth, venus and origina, there were four other planets left, that was sol, celis, nebula and mercury. He'd heard rumors about this four planets and all of them seemed like terrible places for humans to reside, which could honestly be said about any other place that wasn't earth or mars. Either way Eleven didn't care as all he wanted was to experience a different scenery other than the two buildings on the red planet.
"Sol." Two answered without bothering to elaborate.
Eleven was dumbfounded for a moment glancing at the lady walking beside him.
"So, what's the mission?"
"Theft." She replied with a smile.
With the two replies Eleven was beginning to get frustrated. Stroking his dreads that hang freely, he calmed himself.
"Is this a briefing?"
"Yea why?" Two floated onto his face and asked genuinely perplexed, almost as if she couldn't hear herself.
"Sol, theft, come on give me something to go on here, what are we stealing? What are the risks? Do you even have a plan?" Staring deep into her eyes, which he now seemed to notice were not their usual yellow rather brown, he asked. He'd been so eager for the mission that he forgot the little details in his eyes.
"We don't have the clearance for knowing the item, as for the plan we'll make one when we arrive." Her smile retained she answered, before taking Eleven's hand and placing two tiny blue orbs on his open palm, after which she added while patting his head "seems like you noticed, good for you."
Restraining himself from headbutting her, Eleven stepped aside, and strode down the halway. Gazing at the blue balls on his palms he automatically knew their purpose.
Picking one up, he place it in his eye which instantly turned to a deep blue.
He couldn't exactly tell why she gave him this colour that didn't match him at all, but judging by her personality he kinda guessed.
"Hey wait for me." Two said, before dashing to catch up to him.
Not talking to each other, they walked past the hall with the busy scientists eventually arriving at the room where Cade first arrived at.
Walking in, they were greeted by a small dimly lit room with a bunch of control buttons on the left wall where the bald commander stood.
"So you're finally going on your first real mission?" His hoarse voice reverberated in the small room as he gazed at Eleven before adding, " Recklessness won't be tolerated for a second time, remember that."
Eleven didn't talk as he continued observing the room.
The commander didn't add anything else as he began pushing some buttons on the wall which made the room to suddenly glow blue.
Eleven was impressed by the blue circle of light and the technology behind it, though his face didn't show it.
"Don't engage unless you really have to, here." The commander said handing them both what looked to have been sword hilts, before adding with a serious tone "do not, under any circumstance open that box."
Knowing what the hilts were for, they both placed them in their respective pockets where it would've been easy to snatch out after which they nodded and walked in the portal.
"Here goes nothing."
