Chapter 10: The Ultimate Payback
Jin had just left Bella Luxuries, savoring the feeling of retribution. The day was far from over, and he had two more deliveries to complete. As he drove through the city, the system's voice chimed in.
"Next delivery: a package to GlobalTech Enterprises."
Jin raised an eyebrow. GlobalTech was a significant player in the tech industry, known for its innovative products and massive corporate structure. He wondered what kind of encounter awaited him there.
The sun was beginning its descent, casting a golden hue over the city's skyscrapers. Jin pulled up to the towering headquarters of GlobalTech, a sleek building with reflective glass panels that gleamed in the evening light. He grabbed the package and made his way inside.
The lobby was bustling with activity. Employees in business attire hurried to and fro, and the air was filled with the hum of conversations and the occasional ring of phones. Jin approached the reception desk, where a young woman directed him to the 23rd floor.
As Jin stepped out of the elevator, he found himself face-to-face with Eric Thompson, an old classmate from college. Eric had always been a bully, thriving on belittling others to boost his own ego. He was now a mid-level manager at GlobalTech, and his smirk widened as he saw Jin.
"Well, well, well. If it isn't Jin Smith, the delivery boy," Eric sneered, loud enough for others to hear. "Couldn't cut it in the real world, huh? Reduced to delivering packages. How pathetic."
Laughter erupted from the surrounding employees, and Jin felt a familiar anger simmering beneath his calm exterior. He handed the package to Eric without a word, but Eric wasn't done.
"Hey everyone, look at this guy! Jin Smith, our old classmate, now a delivery boy. I bet he cleans toilets on the side," Eric joked, eliciting more laughter from the crowd.
Jin's expression remained stoic as he turned to leave. As he walked away, the system's voice spoke in his mind.
"Fourth delivery completed. Reward: 100% ownership of GlobalTech Enterprises. Proceed to the manager's office to finalize the acquisition."
Jin's heart raced with a mixture of excitement and anticipation. He made his way to the manager's office, a spacious room with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a panoramic view of the city. The manager, Mr. Carlson, was already waiting for him.
"Mr. Smith, it's an honor to meet you," Mr. Carlson said, standing up and extending his hand. "I received the notification of your acquisition. Congratulations on becoming the new owner of GlobalTech."
Jin shook his hand, a sense of satisfaction washing over him. "Thank you, Mr. Carlson. I look forward to working with you and the team."
As they finished their discussion, the loud chatter from outside the office caught their attention. Mr. Carlson frowned and opened the door, stepping out to see what was causing the commotion.
Eric was still laughing with his colleagues, oblivious to the shift in power. "Jin, maybe you should apply for a janitor's position here. At least you'd be doing something useful," Eric taunted.
Mr. Carlson's face turned red with anger as he stepped forward. "Enough!" he barked, silencing the room. "Mr. Smith is the new owner of GlobalTech Enterprises. Show some respect."
A stunned silence fell over the room as everyone processed the information. Eric's face drained of color, and he stammered, "W-what? That's not possible."
Jin stepped forward, his eyes cold and unyielding. "It is possible. And as my first act as the owner, Eric Thompson, you're fired. Effective immediately."
Eric's knees buckled, and he dropped to the floor, begging. "Jin, please. We were classmates once. Don't do this. I'm sorry. Please don't fire me."
Jin's voice was icy. "Anyone who humiliates me will receive tenfold the humiliation. You should have thought of that before mocking me."
Mr. Carlson signaled to the security guards, who grabbed Eric and began dragging him out. "This isn't over, Jin! You're cruel! You're heartless!" Eric screamed as he was hauled away.
The remaining employees bowed their heads in respect as Jin looked around the room. "Let this be a lesson to everyone. Respect is earned, not given. Now, get back to work."
Jin left the office, the atmosphere charged with a mixture of fear and awe. He returned to his car, the system's voice once again guiding him.
"Two more deliveries to complete the quest. Rewards await."
Jin drove to his next destination, feeling a sense of purpose and empowerment. As he navigated through the city streets, he knew that this was just the beginning. With the Trillionaire System by his side, he was unstoppable.
