Chapter 10 - Chapter 10- Baby's day

(note: To not confuse the reader I will note MC as Garen if he is in the Magic world and if he is in the Orignal world, I will refer to him as Chen Heng)

After being discovered by the couple, Garen's days as a baby were peaceful but far from boring

Garen tried to return to the original world, but for some reason, he couldn't go there,

He had no responsibilities, all he had to do was eat, sleep, poop, and the occasional baby noise or finger-grabbing routine.

At first, he was worried that he couldn't return, but due to a connection with the system, which Garen couldn't summon even after many tries

He came to know the reason he could not return was because of a change in the flow of time between the two world

with, reassurance that nothing will happen to his body in that world

Garen left his worries,

this left him with all the time he needed to think about his future.

On Earth, it was no mystery that kids had a greater potential for learning than adults, this is why from an early stage he had developed his brain

and his brain could come under the category of monstrous geniuses on earth

Garen quickly dismissed all the thought "what race am I now?" hypothesis as overthinking.

he had seen his birth mother, and to tell the truth, she didn't look like an ordinary human, in the face of the woman of earth she looked more like an angel

One of the advantages of being a baby was that ignorance was perfectly fine, when the time came, someone would teach him.

He determined that he had four priorities:

First, understand the situation of the world, where he is

Second, he had to figure out magic somehow, or at least its foundations.

Third, since his learning potential was at its peak he will develop his brain until it stops growing

Fourth, lay low as much as possible, who knows from where the bad luck will strike him

With this taught Garen begins his second day

So, he set magic as his first priority. Being considered a slow learner was much better than being weak for life and forced to take another spin at reincarnation.

Garen spent his Second day in the new world in bed, together with his mother, while his father would sleep and rest in the hall.

Whenever someone talked to him, he paid close attention, trying to figure out common words or patterns.

The rest of the time he was not eating or the cloth diaper being changed, he would try to move his body as much as possible

But, Every attempt was a failure, he could not feel even an iota of power inside himself. Comparing himself with the adult body he had on earth

Garen suddenly understood the struggle of child's face while growing

But that couldn't be all, or at least he hoped so, otherwise until he was able to talk all his efforts would have been wasted.

Failure after failure, his anxiety grew stronger. Fear of the unknown and tomorrow started to build up. Also getting used to poop and wet himself wasn't a pleasant feeling either.

Thankfully, his mother showered him up with nothing but love and affection, making his day not a total loss,

Elisha managed to make him feel loved and protected. That wasn't half bad at all.

The final outcome of his Second day was zero progress in moving, and no progress with language. But his mother seemed to be a good parent.

it seems my life is not completely filled with bad luck

The third day turned his world upside down.

Elisha, showing the strength of a wild ox, decided she was sick of resting and got up to help do the daily chores

He also discovered that she seemed to not use bra or underpants.

Once finished dressing, she wrapped up Garen, making it impossible for him to move. Then Elisha placed him into her sash, using it like a baby cradle so that she could easily hold him with only one arm with minimum exertion.

She walked out of the small bedroom and found her husband Greg messing with the fireplace.

*"What in the Great Mother's name do you think you're doing, Greg?" She said with a hiss,

*"I'm sorry, dear. I just wanted to make you surprise. Let you wake up in an already warm house and breakfast ready."* Greg's face showed only sincere concern.

Elina shooed him away from the fireplace and with a flick of a finger lighted the fire.

"Infiro!"

Thank heavens!" Garen rejoiced. "Finally I had discovered a new type of magic. This proves I wasn't just imagining stuff!"

Elisha sent Greg to open the windows' shutters to let the dawn light in while she prepared breakfast.

Elisha took several vegetables out of a cabinet and proceeded to chop them with a knife. Some had a familiar look to Garen, like some semi-potatoes and odd-coloured carrots. The others were all a mystery.

The idea of having such breakfast made Garen almost cry, though he was fed some goat milk, but the child's hunger was no normal matter

Elisha shoved everything inside a small copper cauldron and with the help of a hook hanged it on a metal bar over the fire.

Both Garen and Elisha were ecstatic, even though for completely different reasons.

For Garen it meant hope. Spells could be cast without words or precise hand movements like novels, and this showed him that there was a real chance for him to practice magic while still a baby.

For Elisha was a reason for pride. Magic was common, but every time Elisha cast a silent spell it was like watching a real magician at work.

"You are so amazing, mom!" Garen eyes were full of admiration.

After a while, everyone woke up to have breakfast together. The family consisted of Greg (father), Elisha(mother), Greg father (grandfather), and Greg's mother(grandmother)

for a year both Elisha and Greg were out of their hometown, on the border of the country where Greg used to do his duty

it, was a complete coincidence, that they discovered Garen when they returned yesterday

and, they told everybody that Garen was their child

...

Garen,

From what he could see the house consisted of a big room used as a dining room, kitchen, and pantry with three doors that lead to the various bedrooms and nothing else.

He could then establish with depressing certainty that there was no such a thing as an indoor bathroom

bad luck kicked in again......
