Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: The Importance of Swords Pavilion

Like punishment descending down from the heavens itself, the energy balls fell to the ground with incredible momentum.

Producing a powerful explosion the moment they fell to the ground! It went without saying that those who were in the radius of the explosion died or in the best case scenario suffered from moderate to serious injuries. Both mages and swordsmen.

However the same couldn't be said for the mutated plant life. They certainly perished when the balls fell to the ground.

However, after the explosion they grew back stronger and in greater numbers!!

"As time goes by, we will grow weaker and they will grow stronger!!" Myles exclaimed, his voice carrying seriousness.

Their numbers will only decrease with time while the mutated plants will be strengthened for unknown reasons which he couldn't fully understand. But he knew that it might prove fatal for him if he didn't do anything about it!!

The only way to solve this problem was to get rid of the root. That was to kill the woman but when he looked in front of her, he knew that it would be anything but easy.

The woman was heavily guarded by nearly a dozen thick roots! Bypassing her guards without suffering from any serious injury was very difficult!

Even if he managed to get rid of the roots. She was still a formidable foe proven by her previous show of might!

"This is going to be difficult," Myles mumbled.

She not only had the support of the entire forest at her disposal, she probably also had many other tricks up her sleeves. Making her more dangerous.

It was also a question if he could get close enough to attack her.

Myles was barely avoiding the blast radius by relying on his sheer speed and reaction speed. It helped that the energy balls weren't directly targeting him.

If they did, well he didn't think that he could keep advancing forward so smoothly.

"She can direct her fire towards me at any second if she sees me as a threat." Myles thought to himself.

He was the closest to her due to his insane speed. If he could move forward without any stops in between, he believed that he could reach her in less than a minute.

Of course this was nothing but a dream. If he could maintain his current speed, he believed that he could reach her within 5 minutes! But there was no chance that the mage would allow him to get too close to her.

"I think when I get too close to her then she will start to direct her fire towards me" Myles thought to himself.

This was a very likely outcome since no one would want someone who could kill them get close.

Moreover, he feared that after 5 minutes the army of the union might cease to exist. As he was pondering what to do, a voice resounded through his ears.

"I am Erick speaking from the headquarters of the union to all the B-grade fighters fighting on the behalf of the union to reclaim the sword pavilion.

I am here to make an important announcement in such a desperate situation" Erick's voice rang through the ear's of all the B-grade Fighters.

"As you know the Sage Hazel has made a very tricky move. The energy bombs that are falling down on the ground not only create a powerful explosion but also strengthen the mutated plant life.

I think I don't need to tell you that the longer this battle drags on, the higher the chances of us losing" Erick remarked, his voice sounding grim.

"Every single one of you should be aware that we need to kill Sage Hazel as soon as possible!!" Erick exclaimed, his voice carrying seriousness.

All those who were hearing this nodded their heads in approval. No one was unaware of this. But the question was how? Despite all their efforts, they couldn't do anything to her!! Even one of their peak combatants died.

Almost as if reading their thoughts, Erick quickly answered.

"There is only one way and that's corporation. Up until, you all have been relying on your individual strength to kill her! This approach is completely wrong since the gap of strength between you and her is too large!" Erick exclaimed, his voice carrying seriousness.

"You've all been doing the opposite of what we need until now, so we've decided to change our approach.

We've observed that Aldrich is the fastest swordsman in the army, and despite lacking a sword aura, he has the best chance of killing Sage Hazel.

His speed is so great that even she struggles to keep track of him, allowing him to counter her attacks better than anyone else.

I urge everyone listening to help Aldrich reach Sage Hazel, even if it costs you your life. Command your troops to stop targeting other mages and focus on clearing his path.

I am aware that this will increase our casualties, but remember, if we fail to take her down, none of us will leave this battlefield alive" Erick exclaimed, his voice carrying seriousness.

Erick fell silent for the next few seconds, almost as if giving them the chance to digest the information that they had just learned.

Upon hearing this, Myles felt like a mountain was weighing down on his shoulders! Essentially the HQ threw the responsibility of the entire army on his shoulder.

If he failed to kill her then thousands will die as a consequence of his failure! He would certainly feel bad if this was the case but he quickly calmed himself down.

"This is just a game" Myles's thought to himself.

As he was calming himself down, Erick once again resounded through his ears.

"Remember that failure is not an option. Since if you fail then we will lose the sword pavilion to the mages which can't be allowed to happen!

If we lose the sword pavilion then it might indirectly impact the emergence of new saints in this world!! This can't be allowed to happen when the no. of saints is too low in the world!

This is all that I wish to say to you. Best of luck in killing her" Erick exclaimed, his voice carrying seriousness.

Afterwards the voice of the Erick in his head disappeared like it didn't exist in the first place. Leaving the crucial job of killing her to Myles.

He was unaware whether he was up to the taste. He felt alone at first despite having an entire army at his disposal. However he then remembered that he wasn't truly alone.
