Chapter 7 - Evolution

"System, what do these levels on my stat mean?" asked Jamar, curiosity piqued as he examined the numbers beside each attribute.

**They are the range of abilities that are being used.**

**Level 1 - 5**: the high school level. Level 1 is the minimum ability you can have to be selected as a high school basketball player. Level 5 is the peak of a high school hooper, which is also the crux of being a college player.

**Level 6 - 10**: the college or D league level. Here, level 6 is someone who can be a role player in that ability of his, while a level 10 is a rookie-level talent in the NBA.

**Level 11 - 20**: the NBA level. The same can be applied, only that from level 20 and above is Hall of Fame caliber player.

"Thanks for the information, System. Show me my ability window."

Jamar stared at his stats, his mind racing with possibilities. Eight free level-ups and 48 skill points? He could almost feel the potential surging within him. The System had laid out a clear path to greatness, but how should he proceed?

"System, what should I prioritize with my level-ups and skill points?" he asked, seeking guidance from the voice that had become his mentor.

**It depends on your play style and goals. Do you want to dominate physically, control the game with your mind, or become an offensive powerhouse? Balancing your stats will make you a well-rounded player, but focusing on specific areas can make you exceptional in those facets.**

Jamar considered the advice. He remembered his coach always saying, "A good player is valuable, but a great player changes the game." He wanted to be the latter. But which aspect should he focus on first?

"Let's see," Jamar murmured to himself. "System, allocate three level-ups to Shooting, two to Ball Handling, and three to Basketball IQ."

**Confirmed. Updating status...**

Jamar felt a sudden surge of energy, as if his body and mind were being fine-tuned for greatness.

Jamar grinned. His Shooting was now at the college level, and his overall game had significantly improved.

"Now for the skill points. System, what options do I have?"

**You can distribute skill points to enhance specific abilities within each attribute. For example, under Shooting, you can improve your three-point shooting, mid-range game, free throw accuracy, or clutch shooting. Each enhancement will cost a certain number of skill points depending on the level of improvement.**

"Alright, System. Break down the costs for each Shooting enhancement."

**Three-Point Shooting: 10 points per level**

**Mid-Range Game: 8 points per level**

**Free Throw Accuracy: 5 points per level**

**Clutch Shooting: 12 points per level**

Jamar pondered his choices. "System, allocate 20 points to Three-Point Shooting, 16 points to Mid-Range Game, and 12 points to Free Throw Accuracy."
