[What's left? Oh right, the core formation itself. Well, right beneath this, there is a thorough guide on how to form your Core. It is something that every single creature can do, but only some can truly successfully form their cores.]
"Hmm, interesting…"
'So it isn't guaranteed that one would form their core even if they do the steps correctly.'
[To form your core, you require more than just the right technique… You also need talent and talent doesn't come with everyone. In fact, without talent, you cannot do anything. That is what differentiates those who are destined for greatness from those who are meant to stay at the bottom.]
For some reason, Victor felt different emotions being conveyed from that last part. So far, the God was only showing his playful side in his writing style. However, that part felt rather… Cold. As if the God was uttering something that was too cruel for him to be playful.
However, Victor didn't find himself disagreeing with the God. Mainly because he also knew the importance of talent in determining what someone can and can't do. He had experienced firsthand how too much talent can ruin you, and he was certain that no talent at all was also a disaster.
For someone to reach the top, they have to be in the middle of that spectrum, ironically. The rest is pure hard work, nothing else.
'This world is no different in that area. If anything, it's probably worse considering the fact that talent here matters way more.' Victor sighed.
[Well, you won't have to worry about that as your talent is guaranteed. I do not know how talented you are since I haven't met you yet. But, it is safe to say that you will be able to form your core if you can do the steps correctly. Are you ready?]
Reaching that point, Victor stopped. 'Am I ready? Yeah, of course I am. I have nothing else I have to do.'
Looking around him, the entire house was empty, and he had already inspected it all. What was left was the outside which he still hadn't checked out yet.
[I will assume it's a 'Yes'. Now, I want you to leave the house.]
Without wasting much time, Victor stood up and left the house through the door. The moment he stepped outside, he felt a warm gush of wind caress his face, making him stop. The beauty of nature welcomed him again. In a second, Victor found himself admiring the beauty of it again.
The scenery around him was simply that breathtaking. Everything, down to the smallest details, felt like it was carefully created by a godly being. It was easily the most beautiful place Victor had ever seen with his own eyes, and he had basically traveled the entire world before.
After an unknown amount of time, Victor snapped out of it and looked at the letter again.
[Now that you are done with the sightseeing, take a seat under one of the trees where you can hide from the sun.]
Nodding his head, Victor looked around him and chose a good-looking tree before approaching it and sitting down comfortably. Feeling the soft grass beneath him and the tree trunk on his back, he felt weirdly relaxed. The entire atmosphere made him feel that way.
Closing his eyes for a moment, he let his mind calm down. Having such a moment was a necessity before doing something important. He had always done that before each mission. After that, he finally focused on the next part of the guide.
[Now, I want you to clear your mind completely. You must not have a single unwanted thought before we can start.]
'Already done that. I cannot be any more relaxed than this.' Victor answered in his head. Usually, he would keep his senses sharp, and his mind active, anticipating anything that could appear.
However, at this very moment, he was simply the calmest he had ever been. There was not a single thought in his head that wasn't related to what was about to happen.
[After that, I want you to close your eyes and simply try to feel everything around you. The grass you're sitting on, the tree behind you, and the air around you. Expand your senses to the extreme and just let them do whatever they want. When you feel that you reached that state, recite these words in your head again and again.]
Then, the God wrote something under that paragraph that looked far different from anything else Victor had seen in the letter. Squinting his eyes, he noticed that these symbols looked like some kind of ancient runic text. Yet, surprisingly, he can read those runes even though he couldn't understand a single word of them.
It was like knowing the alphabet of a language without knowing what any word in that language meant. At this point, Victor didn't know whether this was the work of that God itself, or if he was supposed to understand these runes on his own.
'I guess you need these runes to make a Runic Core… So maybe everyone can read it.' He ran his hand through his messy hair.
[The process might take a few hours or even more than a day. So, make sure not to lose focus no matter what happens or the consequences might be a huge problem.]
"What kind of consequences?" Victor asked.
[This process is quite fragile. If someone halts it without warning, the core might end up forming a mutation that will either kill you or cripple you for the rest of your life. I definitely don't recommend that.]
Feeling a cold sensation in his heart, Victor could only frown hard. Those were quite the consequences for something as simple as losing focus for a moment. It was definitely nerve-wracking to know that you are one mishap away from destroying your life forever.
'I won't lose focus.' Victor shook his head. 'I can keep my focus for days, no problem. This is no different.'
[When you are ready. You can start. You will know exactly when your core is finished forming since many things will change about you. Good luck.]
With that, the second page ended there. Seeing that, Victor sighed, put the stack of papers next to him, and finally inhaled a deep breath in, then exhaled it.
'Here goes nothing.' He closed his eyes and completely submerged his consciousness into his own world.
With his spatial awareness as a hitman, Victor can actually feel his surroundings without looking. Granted, that feeling isn't something he can fully rely on unlike his eyes or other senses, but it was still a useful ability since it helped him when all his other senses were obstructed.
That was why, he didn't find a hard time getting his mind to expand to everything around. Instead of trying to think, he let his senses do the thinking. He let his skin feel everything touching it. He let his ears listen to the whistling of the wind and the sound of the waves hitting the shore in the distance. He let his nose smell the sweet scent of the flowers around him.
In a matter of a few minutes, Victor found himself completely disconnected from the world, and yet completely connected to it at the same time. He felt that his body was now his tool for seeing the world instead of his eyes. He didn't let a single different thought take over his head.
When he felt that he was deep enough, Victor finally opened his mouth and started uttering the runes he had read in the letter before. Even though they had no meaning as far as he was concerned, he kept repeating them in his head the entire time without stopping for a moment.
He didn't know what kind of effect they would have, but he was certain they were doing something.
At that very moment, Victor felt something different for the first time. In the dark world, he created in his head, he saw an ember of light in the far distance. That ember was very faint, and yet it was growing stronger at a rather slow pace.
Then, in a completely different direction, another ember of light appeared, as weak as the previous one. Then, another appeared in another place. Victor watched all of that happen in awe and silence while keeping his focus on these sources of light.
In a matter of seconds, what was a single ember turned into a dozen, then to tens of embers, then to hundreds. Quickly, his entire dark world was filled with these lights, like a dark sky illuminated by the beautiful stars.
Meanwhile, Victor was swimming in the heart of that world, watching it slowly change and shift.
