Chapter 15 - chapter 15: Siblings

Min-su, Min-ho, and Hana stood before the door marked "802". They had encountered a few zombies on their way here, but their newfound strength had made quick work of them. Min-su knocked on the door and called out, "Please open the door, this is a rescue!"

Hana glanced at Min-su, thinking, "He said the same thing outside my room. Is this his go-to line, or is it really that effective?"

A girl's voice came from inside the room, "We know you're not a rescue team. You're those people from the building across ours."

Min-su's expression turned serious. "Oh, so you know. Let me be clear: we genuinely want to help you. We need more people in this apocalypse, and if we could make it here, it means we have the power to keep you safe. The choice is yours."

He deepened his voice, his tone firm but reassuring. After a few seconds, the door unlocked and swung open. A girl and a boy, who appeared to be siblings, stood before them.

The girl, who appeared to be around 20 years old, had long, dark brown hair that cascaded down her back like a waterfall. Her eyes, a deep brown almost black, were fringed with thick lashes and filled with a worried gleam. Her skin was a smooth, creamy complexion, but her features were tense and drawn, as if she was perpetually bracing for impact. She was taller than average, standing at around 5'7", and had a slender yet athletic build, but her posture was hunched and defensive. Her face was heart-shaped, with high cheekbones and a pointed chin, but her expression was pinched and anxious, giving her an aura of vulnerability.

Her eyes darted back and forth, scanning the trio with a mix of fear and suspicion. Her brow was furrowed, and her lips were pressed together in a thin line, as if she was holding back a cry for help. Her beauty was still evident, but it was overshadowed by the desperation and despair that radiated from her very being.

The boy, who looked like he was around 17 years old, had short, spiky black hair and piercing blue eyes that seemed to bore into those he looked at with a mixture of fear and hostility. His skin was a shade lighter than his sister's, and his features were more angular, with high cheekbones and a sharp jawline that seemed to jut out in defiance. He was a bit taller than average, around 5'9", and had a lean, lanky build, but his stance was tense and coiled, as if he was ready to spring into action at a moment's notice.

Both siblings had a look of deep-seated worry and caution etched on their faces, as if they had been living on edge for so long that it had become their default state. Their eyes were sunken, their skin was pale, and their entire demeanor screamed of exhaustion, fear, and a desperate desire to survive in a world that seemed determined to crush them.

Here's a rewritten version with some minor adjustments for clarity and flow:

Min-su asked, "What are your names?"

The girl replied, "I'm Han Ji-yoon, and this is my brother Han Kang-min."

Min-su nodded. "Good. Do you have any weapons or medicines? If so, pack them quickly. We need to leave."

Hana interrupted, "Oppa, we have company."

A massive, red-colored zombie emerged before them. Min-su recognized it as a fully mutated variable.

"Help them pack. I'll handle this," Min-su said, his eyes fixed on the zombie. "Min-ho, guard them."

Min-su stood tall, his katana at the ready. He focused his mana into his foot and sword, calming every cell in his body before accelerating them to incredible speed.

Min-su whispered "One Mind" and swung his katana in a wide arc, The sword moved at an incredible speed, faster than the eye could see, and seemed to strike the zombie multiple times in the blink of an eye.

But it wasn't until after the technique was completed that the true extent of its power became apparent. The air around the zombie began to distort and ripple, as if reality itself was struggling to catch up with the speed of Min-su's attack.

The zombie's body began to break apart, its limbs flying off in different directions as the sword's energy released a burst of kinetic force that seemed to shatter the very molecules of its undead flesh.

The ground trembled beneath their feet as the sword's impact sent shockwaves through the earth, and the sound of the technique's completion was like a deafening crash of thunder that seemed to shake the very foundations of the building.

As the dust settled, the true extent of the carnage became clear. The zombie had been sliced into dozens of pieces, each one flying off in a different direction as if struck by an invisible hand.

Min-su stood tall, his chest heaving with exertion, his eyes aglow with a fierce inner light. The katana in his hand seemed to hum with energy, as if it had become an extension of his very being.

"43 slashes, huh?" he said, his voice low and husky, as he gazed out at the carnage he had wrought. Then, with a sudden gasp, he doubled over, coughing up blood as the backlash from his technique hit him like a tidal wave.

From the loud sound, everyone emerged from the application, only to be met with a shocking sight. The walls were scarred with massive sword marks, and blood splattered everywhere. The zombie's sliced remains lay scattered around the area, and Min-su was vomiting blood, his body trembling with exhaustion.

Min-ho and Hana rushed to Min-su's side, concern etched on their faces. "Did you use that technique?" Min-ho asked, his voice laced with worry.

Min-su nodded weakly, his eyes fixed on the ground, before vomiting more blood. The siblings looked on in terror, their faces pale and frightened.

Despite his condition, Min-su struggled to stand up, his voice urgent. "We don't have time, we need to leave now. The noise will attract every zombie in the area."

Min-ho quickly supported Min-su, helping him walk, while Hana led the way, her eyes scanning their surroundings. The siblings followed silently, their faces still etched with shock and fear.

As they moved away from the carnage, the group's tense atmosphere was palpable, their senses heightened with every step. The sound of groaning zombies grew louder, and the air was thick with the stench of death. Min-su's condition only added to the sense of urgency.
