Two weeks later
Yesterday evening, Melvin and I slept in two different locations.
In order to spend the night with my sister and the rest of my family, I traveled to my parents' house.
Even though it was only for one night, it was a pleasant experience to be in the same location as all of my siblings.
Alanie, unable to bear the thought of her son being away from her, brought him with her. Last night, she shared with me that she was apprehensive about entrusting him to the care of other people because he is still so little.
Lydia has been reassuring her that it is normal to feel this way, and that she herself experienced the same reaction when Nate was the same age.
Nate walks into the room wearing a tux. In order to get down to his level, he tugs on the hem of my dress and pulls it down.
I use my index finger to tap the bridge of his nose. "You look handsome today."
I get a grin from him.
