Chapter 2: The Power Within
Sinji's backstory unfolds. In Japan, Gojo was struggling at his workplace.
"Hey Gojo, do you have the Ravager page finished? The animators need to get that done, and if you don't, I might have to fire you," his boss had said.
"Sorry sir, I'm almost done, but I still have 32 pages left," Gojo had replied.
"What! You still haven't finished it? I already gave you three days to finish! If you can't finish it in the next two days, I'll just take some of your pay for this month."
"But sir, I can't pay for this week's rent if you don't pay me."
"I don't care! You should have finished."
"But you gave me three days to finish 300 pages."
"Haaaaaa? You think I care? If you don't finish by tomorrow, you're out."
Back in the present, Sinji focuses his mana into his hand. "If I just focus my mana in my hand, I can use my skills. Which one should I try?"
"You can use matter manipulation," the voice suggests.
"So all I need to do is…" Sinji manages to turn the rocks around him into sand, which starts floating and forms into a sword.
"What the hell?" Sinji exclaims.
"Matter manipulation allows you to change anything into anything. You can change anything to literally anything you can imagine."
"Wow! So if I imagine it, I can make it? That's so cool!"
"Due to some unforeseen circumstances, my name has been changed to Zenkai."
"Okay, I guess?"
"Would you like to test some more skills?"
"No thanks, it's okay. I want to explore this cave now. Can you show me the way out?"
"Sure, here's a 3-dimensional layout of the cave."
"Thank you. Now let's see here… ha," Sinji says confused. "What is that?" he points at a red blinking dot on the map.
"That is a monster."
"W-what! There's a monster here? Is it strong?"
"It is a level 1 slime monster. It is considered the weakest creature in this world."
"Oh, so it's weak," he lets out a sigh of relief.
"Do you want to fight it?"
"Well, what would I gain from fighting it?"
"You will increase your level and become even stronger."
"Well, what's the strongest thing I can fight right now and win?"
"Error, error! There is no creature in this cave you cannot defeat."
"So there are only weak characters? Well, I guess that's fine. Hey, can you tell me what mana manipulation is?"
"Mana manipulation is the process of controlling mana to create new skills."
"So, wait, I can create skills?"
"Yes, you can. If you don't know how to, I can make it for you, given you can tell me the descriptions of the skill."
"Can you tell me what level I am?"
"You are currently at level… error, error. I'm sorry, I can't measure your level."
"Well, okay I guess. Time to explore."
Sinji makes his way through the cave, looking around. He sees a small hole in the walls of the cave and enters it. On the other side, he finds a beautiful cavern with amazing lights and a gorgeous light blue pond. The cave is big enough to fit five average houses, and the scenery is breathtaking. On his left, he sees some plants growing out of the hard rock ground, bright yellow with a hint of green.
"Hey Zenkai, what are those plants over there?"
"They are called Witzelya. They are known for their beautiful and colorful exterior and are mainly used for their amazing health potions and health regenerative properties. If you ingest them, I can synthesize and make more anytime you want, even turning them into health potions."
"Really? Alright then." Sinji goes and puts all the plants into a big bag he crafted with his matter manipulation.
"Now you can absorb them by inserting mana into them and taking it back into you with mana absorption."
"Okay, so I just do this." He sticks out his left hand and starts sending mana and retracting it. The flowers start disappearing one by one.
"Analysis complete. I have synthesized a health potion for you. Here you go." 70,000 bottles of potions drop.
"What do I even do with this?"
"Would you like to create a new skill to store all these items?"
"Yes, please!"
"Okay. Mana manipulation activating, infusing mana into skill, crafting skill." The room starts glowing white and the skill starts to form. "Skill 'Infinite Bag' has been granted. Would you like to store all your items?"
"Yes, please!"
"Understood. All 70,000 items have been stored in 'Infinite Bag.'"
"Zenkai, can you make me a skill to sense opponents?"
"Yes, would you like me to?"
"If I have that, I can sense all enemies. Yes, please."
"Understood. Skill mana manipulation activating, searching for skills related to 'sense opponents,' crafting skill. Skill 'Sixth Sense' has been granted."
"Awesome, so what do I do?"
"You can infuse mana into your eyes to sense enemies."
