Chapter 21 - As A Spectator

Instantly, Asher turned around, drifting backwards slowly. His eyes narrowed, a tinge of golden flames convulsing itself in his eyes.

A bolt of white lightning cracked beside him.

"Ahh, I am not playing anymore." The Cosmic God who had just appeared behind Asher mused.

In less than a second, the flames broke off.

'What?' Asher thought before falling to his knees; blood started to flow from his nostrils as he coughed up loads of blood. Staining the crimson-hued ground beneath.

The Cosmic God let out a small chuckle before pointing his finger towards Asher. A small cosmic-colored energy came out like a blanket, eventually engulfing Asher entirely.

'I'm being healed?' Asher thought, the reality finally hit him.

"I was holding back severely in our last fight, you see. If I really wanted, I could've ended you in a blink of an eye. Though I must say, you did surprised me in the end." The Cosmic God said before bringing his hand forward.

Gripping the hand, Asher stood up. His threadbare tunic was stained by blood and ragged in diverse places. Instantly, a smell rose in the atmosphere that made him almost puke.

"Does this belong to me?" Asher said in a muffled voice, his hands covering his nose.

The Cosmic God nodded, his hands also covering his lower face. Soon, he stepped forward, bringing his hand to rest. Asher followed, realizing that the smell had vanished.

The God stared ahead toward the battlefield, his eyes conveying a sense of familiarity. On the battlefield, the raven black-haired man stepped forward.

"Before I massacre you all like tiny pigs, I must give you a warning. As a humble god, it feels out of my place to not show mercy. So take this warning as a mercy from me and leave." The black-haired man said as his smile broke off.

With a solemn expression, he added:

"Otherwise, don't expect me to show it after."

Silence echoed after the words were spoken. The seven men standing forward simply stared at the man. No one took a step; even Asher felt himself silent for a moment.

The black-haired man let out a maniacal laughter. His laugh echoed through the battlefield. Suddenly, an overwhelming presence crashed upon Asher.

The Cosmic God let out a small chuckle before covering Asher with his cosmic energy. Instantly he felt the presence falling off of him.

However, as he looked ahead, the black-haired man had vanished.

"Today is the day the sky shall be stained once again by the blood of the gods!" A echoed, trembling the entire dimension.

'Wait what?' Asher thought as he looked towards the sky. His pupils contracted as he felt a cold bucket of water falling on him.

A huge hand had pierced the sky; the hand had a presence that made Asher feel that it should not for the God beside him.

'I'd be dead.'

The Cosmic God nodded beside him in agreement.

'This basta-' Before Asher could complete his thought, a huge explosion occurred on the battlefield. The hand...

Had been ripped to shreds.

The army had started to advance towards the black-haired man.

The black-haired man lay in the sky; a black-purple aura surrounded him. The world around him shifted with each step he took towards the army.

'Godhood, when the world obeys to your subconsciousness.' Asher concluded as several explosions occurred before him once again. The black-haired man had vanished.

A flash of purple light illuminated the battlefield with a breeze of wind crashing over everyone. Their hair waved as the seven men vanished.

'I can't follow their movements.' Asher thought as he tried to make out of the battle in front of him.

All he could see was shifts in space and atmosphere that were left behind with each of their movements.

"Isn't this fun?" The Cosmic God beside him said, his eyes reflecting...

Anger?

Suddenly, an explosion occurred on a nearby mountain. Dust went everywhere like a small storm. A man emerged from the dust, his eyes completely black, a purple-black aura covering his entire being, a 'V' was present on his forehead.

Instantly, he burst forward with stunning speed towards the seven men. Asher felt space bending slightly as that happened.

"Watch this closely."

Immediately, a whirlpool of black-purple lightning appeared in the sky. The world lost its bloody hue, replaced by a purplish cosmic hue. The ground became jagged under such pressure.

The black-haired man grinned before appearing behind one of the men. Kicking them in the back. A shockwave killed some people from the army below as the man got sent flying backwards. His armour's broken pieces were still floating in the air.

Instantly, the other men vanished, appearing beside the black-haired man. Their punches were about to annihilate the black-haired man.

Until...

Instantly a black smoke appeared, engulfing the entire battlefield in it. Suddenly, Asher felt himself getting pulled backwards.

'No.. not backwards...'

Shivers went up his spine as he looked up. Above the clouds, the world. A black hole lay. Its cosmic colour reeking with might. Slowly advancing towards the world with it.

Parts of the earth beneath them started to float in the air, moving towards the incoming blackhole.

"This is my true power." The Cosmic God said; his eye-wear had flown off, revealing his shining crystal green eyes beneath.

'Just why am I here?' Asher thought with fear clutching his heart. Why was he here? How is this related to him?

Such thoughts questioning his life choices came up in his mind. Suddenly, blood drained from his face a heinous premonition fell over him.

Immediately, he turned towards the Cosmic God.

"Am I going to battle a foe like this in the future?" Asher said with a solemn expression.

In no hell was he going to get himself involved with this.

"Maybe" The Cosmic God replied sheepishly.

'Oh shit, well atleast I am a spectator now, might as well enjoy it.'
