Ves POV:
I looked at the healer in confusion. Whatever clothes I am wearing offers far more coverage than the little fur cloth they have wrapped around their waists.
How can I hurt myself easily in these and why would I be cold? Why would he say that? Is it not better than roaming around only partially dressed?
I stare at him before glaring at him. I am never going to forget how he dared to apply a ginger garlic paste on my cut. THAT STINGS!!
We don't apply that on open wounds due to the pain it would cause but I said nothing noting their primitive style of living. But it does not mean I have to appreciate him for it.
And who is he to comment on my clothes then?! HMPH.
I turn to Luca, wiping my eyes to get rid of any tears. I am still confused as to what is happening and need to find my way back and he is the only one I have a little trust in even if he is… well, a shifter.
Only because he helped me and got me treated. Even though he is the reason I am hurt in the first place. He doesn't seem aware of the fact though.
I look him up and down slowly. He has panther ears and a panther tail even when he is shifted to human. I have to admit they look adorable… he looks adorable. He is quite a beauty. And so is the so called… healer.
I turn to look at the healer with a glare, looking him up and down too. He has leopard ears and a leopard tail. Could he also be a…?
"Are you okay, little female?"
My thoughts are interrupted by Luca's question, and I slowly nod even though my leg still stings due to the damn healer.
I hear Luca thank the healer called Mathew a few times for 'saving' my life. I roll my eyes.
Luca suddenly pulls me up into his arms, carrying me in princess style. I hiss at the sudden pain that shoots through my leg due the cut and he and Mathew look at me in concern.
I don't look at Mathew but address Luca, "I am okay…" I whisper.
"Avoid sudden movements and let her rest until it fully heals to not worsen it." Mathew advices Luca as if Luca is the one responsible for me.
Hello? Am I not the patient? Am I not the one supposed to know how to help myself heal faster? Luca carries me out of Mathew's cave, and I glance around the village.
There are some huts made of stone and I see several caves around too.
There are many men walking around with some animal fur tied around their waist and also a few walking around completely naked. I turn my gaze away not wanting my eyes to lose their innocence.
They all have animal ears and tails like it is a completely normal thing. I gulp feeling extremely confused and just hope to soon find where I am and a way home.
There was only one female I saw, and she looked… haughty. I don't think I want to cross paths with her. She had many men fawning over her.
Luca stops by talking to a man with panther ears like his telling him about the wolves he killed which should be enough for the village??? They are going to eat wolf meat? Just the thought disgusts me.
My hold on him tightens as I try to elevate the need to puke.
Luca looks at me with soft eyes and pulls me closer, if that even possible.
He continues walking and soon enter another cave. The door bangs behind us since Luca pushed it close with his foot. He lays me on the haystack which is wider and more cushioned than the one at Mathew's cave.
"Are you okay, little female?" He asks, leaning forward while sitting on the corner of the haystack.
I nod, "I am okay… Thank you for helping me. Where are we?"
"We are in Moon-view Village, little female. What were you doing in the forest?" He asks looking at my arms as if searching for something…
"I got lost. My car broke down on the highway and I was trying to pitch a ride from the next town but…" I answer wondering what sort of village it is and why are people here like animals.
He looks at me confused, "What are highway? Is he your male?"
Now I look at him confused, "You- you don't know what a highway is?"
He shakes his head, "I have never seen a highway here."
I look around, "Where is this village located?"
"In the beast continent." He answers like it is common knowledge.
"Wha… How can you shift into a uhm panther and then human?"
He looks at me skeptically, "All males can do that, little female. Have you never seen a male before? Were you sheltered?"
I feel my head spin hearing all those questions. Of course I have seen males… Just not like the ones here.
Am I no longer on earth or what? Because there is no god damn way there are shape shifters living in the forests and no one has heard a thing about them.
I stay silent after that, looking around and sneaking glances at him. I can see worry swirling in his eyes as I go silent.
"Do you need anything, little female?" He asks, breaking the silence.
"No…" then my eyes widen realizing I don't have my backpack, "My backpack... I think I forgot it in the uhm forest."
"I will go get it then," He stands up and smiles at me reassuringly, "Don't move around and wait for me little female."
After seeing me nod, he leaves the cave and closes the door shut, slowly this time. I lay down on my back and look at the cave's roof finally feeling tired and the pain from my wounds.
I huff a bit before eventually falling asleep.
