Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 : Internal Test Update

Chris looked down at the icon next to the chat box.

On the side of the icon was a string of numbers that represented the Survival Points.

After only the first glance, his eyes widened slightly in disbelief.

More than three hundred and fifty Survival Points!

When he thought about how everyone else had ten or even single digit points, he was a bit disbelieving.

Luckily, next to the Survival Points was a button for obtaining records, and by clicking on it, one would be able to view the means through which the Survival Points had been obtained.

Chris clicked it and flipped through it.

His three hundred or so Survival Points were the reward for being ranked number one in shelter construction.

Once he thought that he was the number one in shelter construction among all the survivors, he suddenly felt that these three hundred or so points were a bit less.

After looking at the ways to obtain them, Chris suddenly found that at the top of the interface, next to the words "Doomsday Survival System Internal Test Version", there was a small red dot flashing on and off.

It seemed to be a hint that something new had appeared here.

A trace of excitement appeared in Chris' heart.

It couldn't be possible that this update of the Survival Game had been updated with a new Inner Edition feature?

After he clicked with his mind, the Inner Test Version System's function introduction interface popped up.

"The internal test version system has been updated with the following new features."

"1. Survival Points Construction System: you can use Survival Points to reinforce the construction of your shelter, expand the space of your shelter, etc., please discover the specific functions in practice."

"2. Survival Points Exchange System: your Survival Points can be exchanged for Survival Points at a ratio of 1:1."

There weren't many updates to the internal test version of the system, only these two.

Chris scanned through them and understood what had been updated in this internal test version.

The first function hadn't been attempted yet, so he wouldn't comment on it for now.

However, the second feature was slightly cockamamie.

Because, the acquisition of Survival Points looked to be quite a bit harder than the acquisition of Survival Points, and with a 1:1 ratio, it was definitely a loss!

It seems that not all of the features updated in the internal beta version are necessarily favourable ....

His mind gradually gained some understanding of the internal beta version.

The internal test version might be just like its name, it was used to test various features, with good and bad features.

Experiment with the points building system.

Chris found the corresponding button in the system and clicked down through his mind.

"The relationship between the system's construction consumption and construction space is: 1 Survival Point = 1 cubic metre area."

"Please choose the construction space size after selecting the construction location, Survival Points will be automatically deducted after confirming the selection, and construction is not possible when Survival Points are insufficient."

Before starting the construction, the system's prompt popped up first.

He only read it once to understand the function of this system. To put it simply, it was just using Survival Points to expand the area of the shelter, 1 Survival Point = 1 cubic metre of volume.

With more than three hundred Survival Points on him, if all of them were used to expand the shelter, he would be able to expand the volume by three hundred cubic metres!

And this space that Chris was living in now had a volume of 1,000 cubic metres.

In other words, using all of the Survival Points would only be able to expand one third of the existing space.

However, this was calculated based on the expansion space being a square.

The height of the shelter that Chris lived in now was 10 metres, but it was actually quite unnecessary.

As per normal, the height of the shelter's internal space only needed to be 2.5 metres to be sufficient.

Therefore, more than three hundred Survival Points were still able to expand a large piece of shelter space!

After studying the Survival Points, Chris opened the system's chat interface.

He sent a friend request towards Avril.

Adding friends required both parties to pay 1 Survival Point as a handling fee, but subsequent chats no longer required the deduction of Survival Points.

Therefore, if there was something important to chat about, it would be more cost-effective to add friends to each other!

The friend request Chris sent over was quickly agreed to, and Avril's message was immediately sent over.

"Sir Chris, I was looking for you, the design drawings have been completed, can we trade now?"

Popping up along with Avril's chat message was a trade request.

"Trade item: paper with lines drawn all over it (ordinary)."

"Required item: 250ml of spiritual energy water."

"Introduction: none."

Chris and Avril had initially negotiated a price of 300ml of Spiritual Energy Water, and added a demand price increase of 50ml at a later stage, totalling 350ml.

Since he had already paid a deposit of 100ml, he only needed to pay another 250ml, the price designed by Avril was correct.

Next to the transaction information, there was an additional line than before.

"This transaction by firming needs to consume 4 Survival Points, you can choose to share the payment or have one person make the payment, please choose the points payment method."

After seeing this line, Chris thought of the system's updated content and thought about sending a message to Avril.

"The Survival Points for this transaction, is it apportioned or?"

"Split it, Sir Chris."

Avril's message replied quickly, and the moment her message came back, Chris saw the Survival Points to be paid change to 2 points.

After choosing to pay with his mind, the interface popped up with a prompt that the payment was successful.

The Survival Points were deducted by two points, the Spiritual Energy Water was deducted by 250ml, and a pile of drawings appeared in his warehouse.

Seeing this pile of nearly ten drawings, Chris couldn't help but be slightly stunned.

Originally, he thought that a night's worth of design drawings wouldn't be particularly stunning, but he didn't expect Jimmy to draw so many.

Rubbing open the pile of paper, Chris looked through it one by one, his heart growing more and more surprised.

Each drawing was drawn extremely carefully, extremely neatly, and no traces of rushing could be seen at all.

It was densely labelled with all kinds of notes, explaining why it should be built this way, the benefits of building it this way, and the precautions to be taken during construction.

It was hard to imagine that this was the product of one night's design!

Laying the ten drawings flat on the wooden table in order, the ten drawings were combined into a huge and complete drawing.

It not only included the specific construction of the underground shelter, but also included the underground protective buffer infrastructure that Chris had previously requested.

The unfolding of the underground shelter was expanded according to the existing shelter.

At this stage, Chris's shelter was a square space with a height of ten metres, and the length and width were originally ten metres as well.

But the refuge had already undergone a reinforcement, and the space had gained a small increase.

The length and width were now equal as well, both being 15 metres.

With a length and width of fifteen metres, and a floor area of over two hundred square metres, the area wasn't particularly large, but it was perfectly adequate.

And Jimmy's design is, not to move this two hundred square feet as the most basic space, to make use of the height of ten metres.

His design is, along the rotating upward staircase, constantly expanding around the different spaces, making a similar effect to the duplex.

Only, these spaces were on both sides of the main space, and would not affect the lighting of the main space as well as the overall ventilation.

On the lowest level, Jimmy deliberately marked out a space that was even 5 metres lower than the bottom level.

This was the soundproof room Jimmy had designed.

In the soundproof room, Jimmy also deliberately marked out that the walls of the room could be filled with plant fibres around the walls, the plant fibres had a very good sound absorption effect and could reduce the intensity of the noise by about thirty percent.

Chris was also deeply impressed that this method was highly feasible.

Buried five metres deep underground, even if the noise from the generator was strong, it shouldn't come out.

Looking at the overall design of the underground shelter, Chris nodded with satisfaction.

Jimmy's design was very practical, and designing on top of the original meant that there was no need to re-plan the shelter, which was a good thing for Chris.

And, his design retained aesthetics while being practical.

Satisfied with the design of the underground shelter, he turned his attention to the above ground building.

For the above ground buildings, there was nothing new in Jimmy's design.

There were only a few classic defences in total.

Moats, walls, trenches, and trap mechanisms.

The classic ones, while not necessarily the best, would certainly not have any particularly big mistakes.

What Jimmy had designed for Chris was a sort of combination of trenches and trap mechanisms.

An intricate trench was dug in the ground of the refuge and camouflaged well above it, disguised to look like ordinary flat ground.

In the furthest trench, the spikes and other mechanisms are made so that not only will the enemy fall and receive fall damage, but also a special device will alert Chris, who is in the middle of the shelter.

And in the shelter, Jimmy designed a whole five exits for Chris.

In addition to the main door at the beginning, the other four doors all lead to different trenches.

If the enemy was lucky enough not to fall into the trench and kept approaching towards the shelter, then Chris would depart from the shelter unnoticed and enter the underground trench.

If the enemy was standing near the trench, he could launch an attack directly from the trench and kill the enemy in one hit.

It didn't matter if the enemy was farther away from the trench.

Chris had a powerful compound bow in his hand, hiding in the trench to shoot cold arrows, he didn't believe that he couldn't kill the enemy in one hit.

Jimmy's design plan was simply perfect for him now!

Not only did he design the construction of the shelter, but he also drew the future development plan on the drawings.

As long as he followed the drawings and kept developing his shelter, the shelter would definitely grow stronger and stronger!

This 350ml of spiritual energy water could be said to be very well spent!

Chris carefully memorised the contents of the drawings into his head and carefully received the drawings into the warehouse.

Afterwards, he opened the Survival Points Expansion System.

First, he built the silent room on the drawings and arranged the generator!

He had been wanting electricity for a long time!
