Chapter 1 - Preview and information

There are many things to say but let's explain what you should know, this earth isn't the same anymore. There are monsters, hunters (or so-called heroes to some), kore energy everywhere around the world, The basics but you don't know what I mean right? Let me explain then...

Let's talk about Kore energy first. You've heard the stories, seen the effects, but I don't think you truly understand it yet.

Kore energy is everywhere in this world—woven into the fabric of everything around us. The air we breathe, the food we eat, the water we drink, the land we walk on… it's all alive with it. Most people can feel it in the air when it's thick, like when a storm's about to break. Others can see it, shimmering faintly in the night sky or glowing in the veins of certain creatures. But no one really knows what it is, or where it came from, or even how to control it without paying a terrible price.

You might be asking yourself: Where did it all come from? Well, you're not going to find the answer in any history books. You won't find it in the ruins of ancient cities or on the lips of scholars who spend their lives studying this stuff. No, the answer lies above—above in the sky, in the stars.

The 20 Stars.

They're not some constellation that's been there for millennia. They're not ancient celestial bodies twinkling from a distance. These stars… they came down to Earth. No one knows exactly when, but I'll tell you this: it wasn't gradual. It wasn't like a comet or a meteor falling out of the sky. One day, they just arrived.

Twenty lights, bright and burning, descending from the heavens. They were like nothing we'd ever seen before, not like stars or comets. The day they arrived was like any other—until it wasn't. The sky split open, and these… beacons of light came crashing down, landing in different corners of the world. They didn't land gently, either. There was an explosion of light, sound, and force. When the dust settled, the earth had changed. The air itself was charged with an energy that made the hair on your body stand on end. The world seemed different—alive in a way that no one could explain.

At first, the humans were terrified. What were these stars? What did they want? Where did they come from? It didn't take long for people to realize that these stars weren't just lights in the sky. They were sources of power—power that seeped into the world and began to change everything it touched. Kore energy started flowing from them like rivers of light, filling the land, the oceans, the sky.

And that's when everything began to unravel.

The stars were the key to the Kore energy. But that wasn't all. Each of the 20 stars granted different types of power to the land and to those who were fortunate—or cursed—enough to come into contact with them. The energy spread out from the point of impact, creating "zones" of intense power around the stars, and it wasn't just the land that changed. People changed, too. Those who tried to tap into the stars' energy began to feel the effects. The lucky ones gained incredible abilities—enhanced strength, heightened senses, the power to manipulate elements. But others… others lost their minds. The Kore energy corrupted them, twisted them into monsters and aberrations.

There was a time when the stars were revered, worshipped even. Some believed they were gifts from gods, or maybe messages from other worlds. But as time went on, the worship turned into fear. People realized that the stars weren't just gifts—they were seeds of something much bigger, much darker. They were catalysts of change, not just in the world around us, but in the very hearts of those who tried to control them.

Humans only received one of the stars, but its power was so overwhelming that it could propel anyone to the top of the world. Star rank—if you can absorb it fully without dying in the process (which, trust me, most don't)—you will become the strongest being to ever walk the Earth. It's the kind of power that could shatter everything, but no one has ever managed to control it completely.

Enter Yin and Yang—The Star Rank Slayers. These two have protected humanity for thousands of years, keeping the balance and fighting off those who sought to harness the stars' power for themselves. They've managed to survive, even thrive, in a world where most who attempt to absorb a star are twisted beyond recognition or turned to dust.

If you ever reach S rank—or higher—something else happens. You become immortal. No aging, no death from time's cruel hand. But that's where things get messy.

There were once 20 S-rank warriors. That was before the Fall of the Strongest.

In a devastating crisis, a Star Rank monster, one who had absorbed one of the 20 stars, rose to power and destroyed almost all of our S ranks. Twenty of the greatest warriors were killed by its power. But, in the end, we managed to defeat it. And that's how we got the first star.

Yin and Yang were the ones who saved the remaining 15 S ranks and ultimately destroyed the monster. Since that day, the first star has been locked away, under tight security. Only Yin and Yang are allowed near it—because they are the only ones who can even touch it without succumbing to the chaos it brings.

There are many ranks in this world so let's go through it quickly and fast. There is a exam for this and if you pass you will be these following ranks.

Rank Breakdown

3rd Rank

Description: The weakest rank, with the highest number of individuals and the highest death rate. These individuals are capable of killing hundreds with guns or other basic weaponry.

Abilities: They're strong enough to be lethal in large numbers, though their physical strength and speed are still limited compared to higher ranks.

Current Population: 500,534

2nd Rank

Description: Individuals in this rank are incredibly tough, with their bodies resembling living metal in terms of both strength and durability.

Abilities: none

Speed: Can reach speeds up to 100 MPH at the peak of this rank.

Strength & Defense: Their bodies are nearly invulnerable and extremely strong, though not quite as powerful as higher ranks.

Current Population: 23,353

1st Rank

Description: A significant leap from 2nd Rank, individuals in this rank see a massive boost in speed, defense, and brain capacity.

Abilities:

Strength: On par with 2nd Rank, but their speed and defense increase by 10 times the normal human capacity.

Speed: Exponentially faster, and their defense can withstand extreme impacts.

Current Population: 15,556

D Rank (Monster/Abnormal Beings)

Description: The entry point for monsters or abnormal beings that arise from the Kore energy. These individuals have powers that evolve as they rank up.

Abilities:

Speed: Starts at 100,000 MPH at the lowest and can peak at 1,000,000 MPH.

Strength: Normal punches can level city blocks, and their defense is capable of surviving a nuclear explosion, provided the individual isn't actively engaging with the power of the bomb.

Unique Techniques: They gain unique abilities tied to Kore energy, which grows stronger as they rank up.

Remarkable Status: If not for the rise of technology and the 20 stars landing, individuals in this rank would be near godlike in power in the past.

Current Population: 1,077 (exact count uncertain)

THE TOP DOGS:

C Rank (Mostly Monsters)

Description: A higher class of monsters, and in some cases, exceptionally strong humans. These individuals possess extraordinary power, though their abilities remain mysterious.

Speed & Defense: Likely unimaginable, though these beings are still not on par with higher ranks.

Notable Fact: Roughly 80% of the population is made up of either normal humans or slightly enhanced humans, but those who reach C rank are capable of unimaginable feats.

Secrecy: Most humans, except hunters, are unaware of these ranks' full potential.

Current Population: 201 (monsters and possibly humans)

B Rank

Current Population: Around 99+ individuals (status still unclear).

A Rank

Secrecy: Only known to a select few.

Current Population: 10 individuals (Highly secretive and still subject to mystery).

Star Rank

Description: This rank is the pinnacle of power, and those who achieve it can destroy entire planets, if not the solar system with their finger.

Abilities:

Destructive Power: Star Rank beings are capable of planetary destruction, and some speculate they have powers that extend far beyond that.

Beyond S Rank: They exist in a league of their own, and only a few ever reach this rank.

Current Population: 2 (but rumors suggest there could be more, though this is unconfirmed).
