Two cloaked men with bows stood on the low tables next to the couches, as they fired their arrows over the small fence and straight towards the big viking warrior looking man.
The arrows came fast clearly intent to kill. Lili wanted to call out to the man and tell him to watch out, but before she could the man had already moved.
Immediately as the arrows left their bowstrings he already bent his knees, took a fighting stance which lowered his body a little, causing the arrows to swish past him harmlessly.
Although they did embed themselves in the wall next to the door, way too close for Lilis liking.
Then came a shout from a man wielding a sword and a wooden shield. "Lucky bastard!" The man then charged straight towards the viking man.
The viking man didn't move, he just stood there and watched as the sword man closed the distance and came in swinging his blade. His two companions, one with a spear and shield and one with two knives came behind him as well, as the archers prepared to shoot again.
Seeing it all, Lili quickly ran to the side towards the bar. She held no weapons, but there were knives in the kitchen. Running to the bar counter she glanced back and could see the sword man swinging at the big man, who seemed to be dodging his swings with ease.
He took one and two steps back towards the closed front door as he did so. And then to Lilis amazement he fucking caught the sword right in between his large hands and it was stuck there.
Lili totally forgot to try and climb the bar counter as she just watched with wide eyes and her mouth wide open. The spear man came from the big man's left and the knife man from the right, but when they did, the big man merely moved the sword man from side to side. He was blocking them from getting any closer by using the struggling sword man as a human shield.
The sword man tried to pull on his sword, as he roared through gritted teeth. "Let go you bastard?" But then he stopped pulling, his eyes looked to the big man and a grin spread on his face, as he then with all his might thrusted his sword forward towards the big man's head.
The big mans face was covered by his hood, Lili couldn't see his expression or what he was thinking, but he for some reason just let go of the sword. For a small fraction of a second it seemed as though the sword was going to strike his face, but then he moved his head slightly to the left and the sword went past him.
And then his right hand caught the sword man's neck as his other took a hold of his arm. The big man stopped the sword man right then and there, and then he slammed the sword man hard against the floor.
A great shattering bang was heard as the stone floor under them cracked a little, the sword man's eyes bulged out for a moment and stopped.
Was he dead, Lili wondered? She could see the big man's right hand pressing hard on the man's neck that it in fact seemed like the neck was now totally caved in and crushed. A little bit of drool was in the man's mouth, his eyes seemed dead and blood began coming out from the back of his head.
But then the spear man attacked. "You bastard!" He yelled as he thrusted his spear straight towards the big man's head that was looking down at the now seemingly dead man.
And then like before he moved. The spear went past his head and he caught it with his face. What, no fucking way? Lili couldn't see it, but the spear was seemingly stuck between his teeth now.
Panic seemed to spread to the spear man's face as he tried to pull on his spear, as he yelled. "What are you!"
Then from the big man's side the knife wielding man came. But just then before he could strike, the big man pulled on the spear with his teeth.
The spear man was pulled forward, the big man let go of the spear, but it was too late. The spear man stumbled on his dead friend and fell on top of the corpse, blocking the knife man's path of attack.
The knife man hesitated for but a moment and then literally jumped into his friends rescue with his knives lifted up high in a reverse grip. The blades were about to strike the big man, the spear man was yelling in a panic and then the big man's right hand caught the knife man in mid air.
The knife man tried to strike at the big man, but his arms were too short, he couldn't reach him, while the big man easily could. And before the knife man could do anything, he was forcefully moved in front of the big man.
His eyes went wide, Lili could see that he was in great pain as two arrows came through his stomach and stopped there.
No way, Lili thought. The archers had just fired again and the big man just used the knife man as his shield.
And then without any hesitation the big man took the knife man in his two hands and slammed him stomach down atop the spear man.
"Ahhhh!" Both the men screamed. The spear man seemed like he was in absolute agony as the arrows pierced his back. While the knife man's eyes rolled back and he seemed to pass out.
With the three men stacked atop one another, the big man calmly took the spear from the ground, stood up and impaled the three men with it.
Lili could see the spear man still struggling a little, but quickly life began to fade from his eyes and his movements began to slow. He was so close to deaths door, he was dying.
Seeing his dying face Lili felt sad. The man had no beard, and a young looking face. He looked so young that he probably wasn't any older than 20. He was so young and yet he was now dead.
It saddened her, why did they have to die? Just why? She just wanted them out of her Inn as all. The men were scum for sure, but were they bad enough to deserve death?
From what she had heard, it was the sword man who was in charge of them all and the knife man was his second in command. From their talk she could surmise that those were the ones deserving of death, if someone was.
After all this was a medieval world, people were ignorant, and violence was rampant everywhere more or less. Could they really be blamed for being what they were, shouldn't they maybe deserve just one other chance to write their wrongs?
In her past life she did kill many, but she was different now. Surely killing everyone who did wrong wasn't the answer. Most people only did those things, because life didn't give them any other choice, or they merely did not know any better.
While thinking of this, she then noticed that the archers had already dropped their weapons and were on their knees pleading for their lives, while Robin was behind them on the floor holding his broken arm.
Seeing it Lili felt hopeful. The big man walked to them and as he got in front of the one on the left, he looked to him for but a moment.
He reached out his hand to the archer and helped him to his feet, while saying. "It's ok, your forgiven." Then he put his open palm with his fingers pointing towards the man's heart, right up against the man.
Seeing it alarm bells rang in Lilis head and she remembered what those words were from. In the bible Jesus said pretty much those exact words before he, oh no..
It seemed like a blur to her eyes as the big man's hand closed into a fist and in doing so slammed against the man's chest. The smaller man went limp and instantly fell to the ground dead.
The other archer seeing this pissed his pants as he pleaded. "No no no, please you can't! I didn't do anything I swear! I was gonna pay!"
The big man walked in front of him and again said. "It's ok, I forgive you." And then slammed his massive fist into the mans face.
Lili could hear and see the man's face breaking, his bones cracking and his neck twisting under the force as he was slammed into the floor.
No movement was seen from him again. There was only blood and Lili knew that he was dead. This scared her, the man was definitely not normal and not nice at all. He was more like some bloodthirsty gorilla intent to kill and crush everything in his path, he was totally unstoppable and intent to kill Robin next.
