"Huzzah!" Was the battle cry that sounded not so far through the rainy night as Lili charged short sword in hand towards the gray werewolf. Her hood was pulled back, and her long ponytail was swaying in the wind as light rain fell upon her cute doll-like face.
In Lili's mind, she saw herself as a fearsome Amazonian warrior girl about to face down a massive Goliath, but in reality, she just looked like a cute little girl running through the rain sword in hand against something that girls definitely shouldnt be running at.
Nonetheless, she charged bravely. She was only about 15 meters away from the werewolf with the 6 wounded men laying in a circle in between her and it. Lili could see that time was not on her side, she might have been much closer to the wounded men than the werewolf was, but her little legs made her much slower compared to the werewolf.
It seemed like she might not make it in time, the werewolf was going to reach the men before she could get in front of it and stop it. With her war cry she desperately tried to gain its attention but it was no use, the werewolves red, blood-hungry eyes were already firmly set upon the wounded men.
As she ran she looked at the scene before her, she could see that the closest wounded man to her was the one whose lungs had been punctured. The man seemed a lot better now as he had managed to get himself up onto his hands and knees. However, he did still seem quite weak as he was having a hard time still attempting to catch his breath and stand up.
Right behind the man, Lili could see the thin man standing up. His back was turned towards her and he was holding a small dagger in his left hand as if he were prepared to face the incoming werewolf. Despite his heroic stand against the beast, Lili could see that the man was also quite weak as his back was arched forward and knees bent as if he was barely managing to hold himself up, most likely he was suffering from extreme blood loss.
To the thin man's right side were two of the other wounded men, on his left a single wounded man and in the front just a meter away from him was the final wounded man who was the werewolves target. The target was a man, who wasn't able to move as the bones in his right leg had been smashed by a werewolf in the battle some time ago. Lili had managed to stop the man's wounds from bleeding, but obviously, the bones weren't healed as the man wasn't able to stand up and was just left there screaming in terror as the gray werewolf came charging in towards him on all fours like a beast.
With this scene in front of her Lili's path seemed almost perfectly set up for her. In her mind, she saw the 2 men in front of her as stepping stones to help her get quicker to the werewolf. Instead of having to go around the wounded men to reach the werewolf, now she could just go above them.
With this in mind, she ran with all her might on the wet ground, her little feet pushed the ground hard as she took a step, two steps, three steps and on the fourth step she jumped. Her first target was the first wounded man's back.
Luckily for the man, Lili didn't weigh much at all and so he just felt a small sting of pain from her bare feet landing upon his back. Mostly the man just felt confused as he caught a glimpse of her from the corner of his eyes as she jumped from the top of his back straight towards the boss man.
Lili flew amazingly high and managed to land upon the tall thin man's upper back. Immediately on impact the thin man lost balance and started to fall forward straight towards the incoming werewolf.
For Lili, this was just perfect. With the werewolf only 5 meters away from the wounded man. All she now needed to do was jump one more time and then she could stop that beast from reaching the wounded man.
With this in mind, Lili placed her right foot upon the falling thin man's head and then she jumped forward. Amazingly she managed to fly high into the air, over the wounded man and straight towards the incoming gray werewolf.
In mid-air, Lili took her short sword into both her dainty little hands and raised it into a reverse grip above her head. With the blade pointed downward she aimed straight toward the werewolves head.
The werewolf seemed completely oblivious to her small incoming figure as it ran on all fours straight at the screaming wounded man ahead of it.
Then right before the werewolf was about to lunge at the wounded man it seemed to notice Lili as it looked up, but it was too late. All the beast saw was her blade coming straight into it's right eye.
Lili could feel the sword go through the soft eyeball and a few centimeters downwards until it got stopped by the surrounding eye socket bone. As Lili flew over the werewolf the blade traveled for a bit past the eye cutting creating a nasty long wound on the beast. Then she fell with a perfect roll to the wet ground.
With the sword in her right hand, Lili was in a superhero pose with one knee on the ground. Adrenaline was pumping through her body and she felt good, she felt like a badass. All those self-taught gymnastics practices were not for nothing as she had not only managed to land on the ground with a perfect roll without feeling any pain, but she also had managed to jump quite far.
Then, from behind she heard the horrified scream of the wounded man followed by a loud angry roar of a beast.
"Roooar!"
Hearing this Lili looked behind her and saw the werewolf standing on its two long beastly legs just a few meters behind her. It looked absolutely massive in her eyes, truly this was like David versus Goliath. She could see that the werewolves breathing was heavy, not out of exhaustion but out of rage. She saw its large right hand covering its right eye and from under the hand, Lili could see a trail of black blood falling down. The sight of this black blood brought many questions to her head, but there was no time for such things as the creatures one good red eye then fell upon her.
As their eyes met Lili flinched in fear at the sight. Right now there was nothing in between them anymore. She stood alone against this monster, only the burning wagon was close to her left side. Her girlish instincts were telling her to freeze in fear and scream her guts out for help, but her logical side managed to hold her together.
There simply was no time for fear now. The wounded men she wanted to protect were still alive and well, but not out of danger just jet as they were just behind the beast. The men seemed to be frozen in fear as they looked silently upon the beast. If the werewolf wanted to it could probably rip them all apart in a minute or so, but luckily its attention was now completely on her and that was just what she wanted.
Bravely Lili stood up and turned towards the werewolf ready to face it as it growled agressively towards her and started to move with heavy footsteps. Lili hesitated not sure of what to do, her instincts were telling her that only certain death would follow if she charged at it head-on now.
Then an arrow of hope came flying in straight into the back of the werewolves neck. The arrow didn't pierce it's neck deep, it only managed to sink it's metal tip into the neck and then stopped.
The werewolf just seemed to flinch out of annoyance, not caring about the arrow at all as it then ripped the arrow out and just took a short glance at the arrows shooter. There in the dark distance just off the road, Lili could see Robin preparing to fire another arrow. His face seemed to be full of worry, clearly, he had attempted to shoot the werewolf in its head, but his aim had been a bit too low.
The werewolf just growled lightly at the boy and then turned back towards Lili and broke into a sprint. Lili unconsiously just took a step back in fear and then watched as the werewolf pounced towards her, intent on biting her face off.
Then just at the last moment Lili's senses flared up and in but a split second she managed to dive out of the werewolves path and towards the burning wagon on her left. In mid-air, Lili could feel the werewolves sharp claws just go past her naked feet as the werewolf flew past her and she flew to the ground in front of the burning wagon.
Luckily for her, the wagon wasn't burning as hot and or as bright as it had been before. Despite this, she couldnt help but feel a bit confused at why it was that her senses were telling her that going under the burning wagon was her best option. But she didnt question this as she felt the feeling feeling of death following quickly behind her as she crawled under the wagon.
Crawling under the wagon, Lili could feel the heat from the fire above her and she could feel the smoke coming to her nose suffocating her, but it was the least of her worries as she sensed her feet about to be snatched by the werewolf.
Quickly she pulled her legs against her chest and she went into the fetal position. She watched as the werewolves long arm reached under the wagon towards her, just barely falling short of her feet. Despite falling short it kept on trying to reach her and as it did so it's heavyweight managed to make the wagon move. Slowly as it pushed against the wagon it started to move letting its hand come closer and closer to her.
Seeing this Lili desperately shuffled her body backwards away from its sharp claws. With her short sword, she desperately started swinging at the werewolves hand, but its hide was too tough and thick for her to do any real damage. Her blade only managed to create shallow cuts upon the beasts hand.
Despite this Lili did manage to put some distance in between the werewolf and herself. Then as she reached the middle part of the burning wagon the smoke intensified as it floated into her eyes and nose blurring her vision and causing her to cough violently.
Then the werewolf pulled it's hand back and she heard it let out a pained howl as the werewolf disappeared from her sight. In the distance she wasnt sure, but she thought that she saw a glimpse of Robin shooting his arrows at the werewolf.
For a second there was nothing until suddenly the wagon shook violently as something extremely heavy landed upon it. The burned wood creaked and cracked.
Lilis mind was a haze from breathing in too much smoke, but her senses still worked perfectly and they were telling her to move to the right.
Moving her head slightly to the right she then heard the wood above her shatter as a large clawed hand came through the wagons floor and hit the ground next to her head.
Her eyes widened in horror and her senses told her to move, but it was too late. The werewolf managed to blindly scratch at her face. Lili immediately felt a tremendous pain as the 5 claws dug deep into her flesh. The claws went deep until they reached her skull and then they moved up towards the center of her face.
Lili could feel her ears started to ring out of pain as she then lost her vision in her left eye which went completely dark. In sheer desperation, she slashed back at the werewolf with her sword. She could feel her sword dig a few centimeters deep into the werewolves forearm.
A pained roar could be heard as the werewolf immediately in response pulled its arm away. Then the feeling of danger came upon her again and this time she didn't hesitate at all as she started to roll towards her right side.
Through the wagons burning wooden floor, massive clawed hands started punching through one after the other as the werewolf attempted to catch her. With each of its strikes, a new hole was added and the wagon shook more and more violently.
Lili just smiled at the sight of this as she dodged them all and rolled out from under the wagon. Behind her, she could then hear the wagon frame crack as it completely collapsed in on itself.
Lili pushed herself to her feet and quickly ran a few meters away from the wagon to an open patch of short grass and then she turned to look at the sight of the collapsed wagon in flames. Her vision was blurry and small, and she found it surprisingly hard to breathe. In the flames of the now collapsed burning wagon she couldn't see the werewolf, but she could still sense its presence there. But she couldn't understand why couldn't she see it, why was her vision so bad and small?
With her sword in her right hand, she used her left hand to rub at her hazy eyes only to not see her hand there in front of her left eye where it should have been. Only a feeling of a deep wound could be felt there.
Lili felt extremely confused at this, she was sure that her left hand was upon her left eye, but she couldn't see her hand, she just felt the wound. Why was this? Feeling confused by this she started to feel around her face and there on the left side of her face she could feel five long bleeding wounds.
Two long wounds were above her eye. They went across the middle of her forehead all the way to the back of her skull. In the middle, there was a similar wound that traveled from the top of her nose, across her left eye and across the middle of her ear. The fourth wound traveled from the lower part of her nose all the way across her cheek and to the bottom part of her ear which seemed to be missing. The last wound wasn't so bad as it had only cut her upper lip in half and traveled right across her cheek and to the back of her jaw.
Overall 5 deep wounds were on her face, her left ear was cut in half from the middle. Her once cute little button nose was cut into three pieces and her upper lip was also left hanging but most worrying of all was her left eye that had been completely cut in two and her left ear that she didnt seem to be hearing anything out of. Her face felt wet with her own blood. She could feel a great amount of blood flowing down her face. A feeling of weakness was also quickly coming upon her, from losing so much blood.
Taking all this into mind her hands started to tremble. The realization of her new self horrified her. The scars she wouldn't have minded, but losing her hearing in her left ear, losing partially her ability to breathe properly because of her slashed-up nose and losing her vision in her left eye, these were things she couldnt accept.
Her breathing then became irregular as she felt herself starting to panic. Her thoughts were a complete mess as she searched her mind for answers. What was she supposed to do now? Was she supposed to just accept her new disfigured state? To be an extremely small girl in this life was one thing, but to be a partially blind and deaf girl was something completely different.
Then a spark of hope came to her as she realization of her just newly discovered powers hit her. She quickly then placed her left hand on her face and focused on the magical core of light energy inside of her. Almost immediately she could feel something light up inside of her as her wounds started to slowly close or thats what she felt like, honestly she wasn't sure.
Despite not knowing if it was working, she definitely could feel her energy being depleted rapidly. She wanted to keep on going and pour all her energy into healing herself, even if she passed out now out of exhaustion as she did so. She just desperately wanted to get back vision at least. But there was no time.
Just then, right in front of her, she saw the massive gray werewolf standing up inside the flames of the collapsed wagon like a demon rising from the fiery depths of hell. Then it turned towards her and looked down upon her small figure with its one good glowing red eye.
Then it stepped out of the flames. Its gray fur was completely burned leaving nothing but its hideous sickly-looking pale skin to be seen. Sticking out from its back were 3 arrows and on the back of its head there too was an arrow. Clearly, Robin had been trying to kill the beast, but it wasnt enough.
Looking now upon its hideous beastly figure, Lili couldn't help but feel hesitant to face it. She felt like the protagonist of a certain Terminator movie facing off against a freaking robotic Terminator killing machine. This thing seemed invincible in her eyes, was there anything she could actually do to kill it?
With rain pouring down on her Lili then muttered a few words of encouragement to herself as she said. "No surrender, no retreat, that is spartan law and by spartan law, I will stand and fight."
Then without any further words said, the two of them charged towards one another. As they broke into a quick sprint Lili took note of the werewolves human-like running posture and there she noticed an opening.
Right before its long arms could grab a hold of her small body, Lili fell to her knees and slid on the wet grass and right under the werewolves hands. Passing under its massive body Lili took note of its crotch and a big flaccid dog-like dick that was there. Taking note of this she lifted her sword up towards its dick and slammed the blade against the werewolves dick. There just like one would expect Lili noticed and felt her blade slicing deep into its flesh. She could see a deep wound being created there as she slid past its crotch. She could see its dick being cut in two and then came the ball sacks which were also split in two.
And, as she slid past its legs a victorious smile came upon Her now bloody face. Behind her, she could hear its whimpering and as she turned to look she could see the werewolf on the ground holding its now severed dick in hand.
Then from behind her on her left, she could sense Robin coming from around the burning wagon. Lili didn't wait for him and just charged at the werewolves back, it seemed like a perfect opening for her to exploit.
Behind her Robin could be heard yelling.
"No! Wait, Lili! It's too dangerous!"
She didn't listen and just ran. Coming close to the werewolves backside she then prepared to jump upon its back, but just then she felt a sense of danger. Quickly she fell to her knees and slid along the ground towards the werewolf, just barely managing to avoid its sharp claws as it turned and attempted to blindly slash at her.
Lili watched as the massive pale-skinned arm passed just above her. Then she came to a stop right under its wide chest. Lili felt like her heart was about to jump out of her body in fright as their eyes then met.
Its wolf face was in touching distance of her shorthands. Then the werewolf pulled its body back and looked menacingly down upon her as it then sent its left hand straight down towards her.
Seeing this coming Lili quickly rolled to her right, its claws came down on her black cloak that hung on the ground which brought her roll on the ground to a quick and sudden stop. Her cloak was stuck in its claws, no, she was stuck.
Lili's eyes widened in surprise as she felt herself being trapped under the werewolf now. Then a feeling of danger came once more. From the corner of her right working eye and past her slashed nose she saw the werewolves other hand about to come down towards her face.
Thinking quickly Lili pulled her right hand close to her chest as she then used her left hand and both her legs to push herself out from the incoming claws path. She managed to push herself back against the werewolves other arm that held her cloak in place, but she was too slow as its claws managed to stab through her left forearm.
Through her right eye, Lili could see two massive claws protruding straight through her forearm. With her forearm firmly implanted against the soft grassy ground her arm was now firmly stuck there. Then the pain came to her and she screamed.
"Aaaaaahhhhhhh!"
From a distance, she heard Robins voice called out to her in worry.
"Lili! Watch out!"
Hearing Robin's voice brought her back to her senses. She felt danger once more coming her way and without even turning to look she used her right hand to clench her sword tight and then she thrust it upwards towards the werewolves face.
As she did this she turned her face to look and noticed the werewolf about to bring its wide-open jaws down upon her face, but her sword was quicker as it went straight inside its open mouth and hit the soft flesh there.
The werewolf did get its soft flesh pierced, but once more its hard bones stopped it from going any further. The werewolf only slowed down a bit, but it didn't stop as it pushed downwards uncaring of the sword in its mouth. Lili could feel her right hand start to hurt and lose strength. The werewolf was just too powerful for her. A sting of pain came to her hand as she then lost control of the sword. The sword quickly fell from her hand and landed upright next to her face. With her one good eye, Lili looked in horror as the werewolf came closer to her face, luckily the sword was still stuck in its mouth preventing it from immediately biting her face off.
Trapped there Lili could do nothing but watch as the werewolf came closer and closer towards her face. She could already feel the werewolf's hot breath on her face, she could hear the sword piercing deeper through even into its bones, but the werewolf didnt care. Black blood came raining down upon her face, but the werewolf didnt care.
The werewolf was only just inches away from biting her face off, she could feel its teeth scrape against her forehead causing small wounds to form there and blood to flow.
But just then the werewolf came to a sudden stop and went completely stiff. Lili just watched its open mouth with fear and then the beast fell stiffly to its side. In utter shock and disbelief, Lili turned to look at it and saw an arrow lodged deep in the werewolves left eye, it seemed like a direct hit done expertly by Robin himself. For a moment the werewolf was stiff as it then suddenly twitched around a few times and then went completely limp.
From behind her, somewhere in the distance, she could hear Robin running towards her side as he yelled to her in worry.
"Lili! Lili! Are you ok? Please speak to me."
She didn't answer. Her left arm was bleeding, it felt numb and was completely unresponsive. Her right hand was trembling in pain. She couldn't help but look at her right hand in regret and then back at the werewolf as she weakly said.
"I, I, I didn't finish it. I failed."
A tear came to her one good eye at the realization that despite all she did she failed to kill the werewolf on her own, instead, Robin had gotten it. Sure she was grateful to him, but this was supposed to be her moment of glory, this was supposed to be her moment to prove her strength to herself and regain her confidence and yet she had failed. Maybe even if this was a fantasy world full of monsters and magic, fighting was not meant to be her destiny here.
Saddened at the thought of this she at least managed to find some comfort in the fact that she had saved the mens lives. Then she closed her one good eye and felt her mind fall into darkness as she lost consciousness.
