At the heart of the dungeon, we found another chamber, similar to the one in the forest ruins. In the center stood a pedestal, upon which rested a large, intricately designed chest. Surrounding the chest were statues of mythical creatures, their eyes glowing with an eerie light.
"Ah This must be it," Elara said, her voice filled with awe and determination and curiosity.
As we approached the pedestal, the statues came to life, advancing toward us. We fought them off with everything we had, our movements precise and coordinated.
Despite the cold and fatigue, we managed to defeat the last of the guardians, the statues crumbling to the ground.
Breathing heavily, we turned our attention to the chest. I reached out and carefully opened it, revealing another collection of ancient scrolls and a shimmering, intricately designed amulet with weird words embedded to it.
The scrolls seemed to contain more detailed maps and instructions, possibly leading to other hidden locations or artifacts.
"We're getting closer to something quite big," Elara said, studying one of the maps. "This one points to a dungeon in the Desert of Shadows. It's a stark contrast to this place.
I nodded to her remark. "It seems like these will be quite big, who knows maybe we can discover treasure!"
Elara nodded "yeah."
