Chapter 60 - Chapter Sixty- Resigning to fate

Stacey sat one of the hospital's swing benches, gently rocking, but obviously lost in a world of her own thoughts. She had come out for some air to quell the emotions that threatened to overwhelm her. It's been three days since Susan's admission in the hospital, and it weighed greatly on both Stacey and her dad. 

Adrian quietly came up behind her. He had no intentions of startling her but she jerked, quickly turning to see who the intruder was, just as the gravel crunched under his boots.

"Hi." He said, awkwardly. 

Stacey replied with a sad distant smile in her eyes. "Hi."

"I got you some coffee." He extended the plastic coffee cup to her, which she accepted with a nod.

"You didn't have to go through the stress, but thanks anyways."

Adrian smiled back, "you are welcome." He gestured to the space beside her. "Mind if I sit?"

"Actually, I don't."
