After everyone upgraded to female warriors, Sylas checked their loyalty levels. Overall, the results were good, with loyalty levels above 80 points. Several of them, like Tilda, had reached a loyalty level of 90 points. A loyalty level of 100 points was very hard to achieve, so Sylas was satisfied with levels above 80 points.
As long as loyalty was above 60 points, it was considered acceptable, and Sylas could use them without worry. Loyalty levels below 60 points were a concern for potential betrayal, while levels above 80 points indicated that the individuals would not betray Sylas.
With this, Sylas now had a group of twenty-three female warriors. These women, transformed into female warriors, possessed significant combat abilities comparable to special forces soldiers. While they couldn't defeat mutated zombies, they could easily overpower ordinary zombies and regular survivors.
Sylas didn't need these women to fight alongside him; he just needed them to guard his home. However, they were severely lacking in weapons. Aside from the katana in Sylas's hand, none of them had any weapons.
"Do any of you know where we can get weapons?" Sylas asked.
The women exchanged glances, but no one knew where to find any weapons.
"Never mind, I'll think of something for the weapons," Sylas said, waving his hand.
Housing for Tilda and the others was easy to solve. Sylas had them move into the two villas next to his own. This arrangement placed Sylas and his women in the middle, with Tilda and the twenty-three female warriors in the villas on either side, ensuring Sylas's safety.
However, Sylas urgently needed to find weapons for these female warriors.
Without weapons, they wouldn't stand a chance against the zombies. The morning's activities had drained Sylas's energy, and he was also quite hungry. Sylas instructed the women to prepare lunch. After they ate, they would continue their work.
Lunch was a feast, with beef, vegetables, and fruit, all in abundance. Sylas ate his fill, and the women, including Tilda, devoured their food voraciously. If Sylas hadn't controlled the portions, they might have eaten themselves sick. Sylas understood their behavior—they had been starving for days, and now, with plenty of delicious food, it was no wonder they couldn't control themselves.
During the meal, Sylas considered how to arm Tilda and the others. He remembered there was a hardware store on the street where he could make some weapons. Determined to solve this, Sylas set off after eating, deciding to walk instead of riding his motorcycle, treating it as a post-lunch stroll.
Though it was a stroll, Sylas walked quickly and reached the hardware store in under fifteen minutes. The store's name was Happy Hardware Store, but ironically, it was far from happy now. The front door was ajar, and inside, Sylas saw two zombies wandering around.
Sylas immediately recognized them as the store's owner and his son. Both had turned into zombies. Sylas opened the door and entered the store. With two swift swings of his katana, he beheaded the two zombies. Clearing out the zombies was necessary for his task, and by killing them, Sylas felt he was doing a good deed, putting the father and son out of their misery.
After killing the two zombies, Sylas began examining the tools in the store to find suitable weapons. The hardware store was filled with various tools, but no actual weapons. However, with a bit of modification, these tools could easily be turned into weapons.
After reviewing the tools and materials available, Sylas quickly came up with a weapon plan. He decided to make some spears. The hardware store was quite large and had a cutting machine as well as metal pipes for sale.
Sylas set up the cutting machine and cut the hollow metal pipes into 1.5-meter-long sections. He then cut one end of each pipe into a sharp, angled point. This simple modification turned the metal pipes into basic spears.
Initially, Sylas considered making them 1.8 meters long, but he realized that the hollow pipes would be cumbersome at that length. The 1.5-meter length was more manageable and just right for combating zombies. The female warriors could use these hollow spears to directly pierce the zombies' heads, targeting their weak spot.
In addition to the spears, Sylas found some large hammers. These would also serve as effective weapons against zombies.
For now, these simple weapons would have to suffice for the female warriors. Despite their simplicity, they were of good quality and would be more than adequate for dealing with ordinary zombies.
Sylas also packed up everything in the hardware store into his storage space, knowing that these items could be useful later.
Returning to the villa with the batch of weapons, Sylas handed them over to Tilda and the others.
"Try these weapons out and see how they feel," Sylas said.
Tilda picked up a metal pipe spear and tested it, finding it quite handy. However, whether it would be effective against zombies was yet to be determined.
"Let's go test these weapons on some zombies," Sylas continued. "Our goal today is to clear all the zombies from the neighborhood and find any remaining survivors."
This was something Sylas had been wanting to do for a while. Previously, with limited manpower, such a labor-intensive and thankless task wasn't feasible for him alone. But now, with the support of the female warriors, Sylas planned to clear the neighborhood.
After all, this was his residence. Turning the neighborhood into a safe zone would be very beneficial. First, though, he needed to train these female warriors and ensure their combat effectiveness.
Finding ordinary zombies wasn't difficult. The villa area where Sylas and the others lived had already been cleared by Sylas, so there were relatively few zombies. However, other areas hadn't been cleared, and there were still many zombies around.
Sylas led a group of women to start clearing the zombies. Not only did the female warriors follow, but Hayden, Clarissa, Sydney, and Lillian also joined them. These women were intelligent. Although they relied on Sylas for survival, they understood that in this new era, it was difficult for powerless women to survive.
Now that they had been granted extraordinary abilities by Sylas, they naturally wanted to make the best use of this power.
Knowing that Sylas planned to clear the zombies from the neighborhood, the four women—Hayden, Clarissa, Sydney, and Lillian—decided to join him after some discussion. They hoped to use this opportunity to train themselves and gain practical combat experience.
Sylas was pleased with this decision. Given the uncertain future, it was crucial to enhance Clarissa and the others' combat skills. You never knew when they might need to fight.
Originally, the plan was to clear the zombies from the neighborhood, but Sylas noticed some stragglers within the villa area. He changed direction to first eliminate the remaining zombies in the villas. The primary goal was to clear out any hidden zombies within the villa area.
Sylas organized the group. The female warriors were divided into four squads, with six members each. Tilda led one of the squads, which was short by one person. The other squads were complete with six members each. Sylas operated alone. Clarissa temporarily joined the female warriors to bolster their strength. With Sylas's abilities and armed with pistols, Clarissa and the others had significantly higher combat effectiveness than the female warriors. In case of unexpected situations, they could also ensure the warriors' safety.
With the teams assigned, they began clearing the neighborhood. The villa area only had ordinary zombies, no mutated ones, so the process went smoothly without any major issues. The small number of zombies stood no chance against such a well-organized team. As long as the female warriors remained calm and courageous, dealing with ordinary zombies was quite simple.
"That's incredible!"
"Such strength!"
The female warriors were in awe as they watched Lillian, armed with a large firefighter's axe, single-handedly take down a group of zombies. The display of power left them speechless.
The combat prowess displayed by Lillian was truly astonishing to the female warriors. When they first gained their abilities, they had been quite proud of their newfound strength. However, witnessing Lillian in action made them realize just how limited their own power was.
According to Lillian, her own strength was not that impressive. It was their leader's power that was truly formidable. This revelation left the female warriors in awe once more.
Similar scenes played out in the other teams as well. The female warriors realized that Clarissa and the others also possessed extraordinary abilities and were far more powerful than themselves.
"No wonder they are the leader's women, they are indeed very strong," the female warriors thought to themselves.
In addition to zombies, there were a few survivors in the villa area. While clearing one of the villas, the survivors inside emerged. All the survivors were gathered in an open area within the villa complex. They would be registered and then managed collectively.
One villa after another was cleared, and zombie after zombie was killed. Some survivors were driven out as well. Faced with armed female warriors who could easily kill zombies, the survivors were very compliant, saving Sylas a lot of trouble.
After two hours, the villa area was finally cleared. Sylas could now guarantee that the area was safe and free of any zombies. The villa complex had its own independent gate, which had already been closed, preventing zombies from entering from outside.
"Tilda, register them and collect their food. From now on, we'll distribute food daily. Tell them that as long as they follow the rules, they won't lack food or water," Sylas instructed. "Anyone who disobeys will be expelled."
"Regarding their living arrangements, they can temporarily stay in their own homes," Sylas said to Tilda, also ensuring that the survivors heard him.
There weren't many survivors, just over thirty, roughly the same number as Sylas's group. However, they were all ordinary people without Sylas's abilities, making them incapable of resisting the female warriors.
