Nicholas reread the message again: 'i hope I'm not sensing affection. It will not turn out well if I'm right' He had been confident that he had cornered his father. Maybe he wasn't smart enough or maybe his father hasn't lost his wits as he predicted. But it was only a speculation, so he believed he still has chance to prove him wrong.
"Boss" Steve called as he heard him whisper. "Any problem?"
"No" Nicholas answered with haste. "Not at all Steve. I think you have tried, you should retire as soon as the nurse is done"
"Alright boss" Steve replied.
Nicholas returned his phone to his pocket. He didn't want the message to bother him. It was only Lily that mattered now and no one else, so he kept watching the nurse until she was done.
"I bet she's resting now sir" the nurse said. "She would be fine. Dr Harriet would finish what's left tomorrow morning"
"Alright ma" Nicholas replied with courtesy.
"I'll be going"
