Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: The merging ceremony

"You'll be late Ria!" Lily shouted. As she got no response, she trudged towards her room to find out why she's not ready yet.

The previous week have been herculean for her. Looking for a good college for Floria was exhausting. She never wanted to take her out of Vancouver, in order to stay close to her. University of Fraser Valley was the best choice she could find. Just east of Vancouver, the school was verified as one of the most outstanding. Lily used the influence of her family background to get her the admission Into the University. Floria did not argue the decision but deep down, she knows that she never wanted to go. She was given Economics.

"Ria" she called. "You have to trust adaptation. It will surely happen.."

"No it won't" Floria interrupted. "I've spent all my life here and you think adaptation will happen?"

"It's not far from home"

"Yet..."

"Yet!" Lily halted her. "Yet you can still come home if it gets difficult." Lily rubbed her cheeks.

Floria looked at her and could understand how hard this is for her too. Lily can't stay alone with these monstrous people. But she has no choice than to save her from their grasp. Without further persuasion, she stood up, assuring Lily that she was ready to go.

The driver, as usual, waited patiently for the sisters to get over themselves and face reality. Lily have already prepared a nice place for her and assured her wellbeing.

"Goodbye Sis" Floria said, downcast.

"Goodbye Ria" Lily said as the car, as if noticing that they will never be over with saying their goodbyes, sped off.

As the car went out of sight, Lily came back to herself. She went inside to prepare for the merging ceremony.

Yes, she no more had to live here. The only reason she hung around was because of Floria and now, she's gone. If she's going to win the Franklivanias, she needs to live with them and learn their ways. She was going to use this merging, as a medium to return to her wifely activities. The visions had not come for long now, and she was becoming so desperate for it. Seeing as how things are moving very fast, she needs to discover more to equip herself.

She packed her bags, took the necessary things, made for her father's car and sped off to the Franklivanias mansion.

She drove roughly, aiming to reach on time and join the preparation for the merging. Not that she actually approved of it now, but then, she has to be realistic that this is happening and nothing else can stop it. She hoped Floria would as well, find purpose in Economics and join the fight more tactically.

On getting there, the house was tensed. The housekeepers went on with cleaning and cleaning as if the compound will ever be devoid of sand.

Lily overlooked them and went inside. She was greeted by every maid and servant along the hallway and her presence resounded in the mansion. Nicholas on hearing it was also surprised.

He rose from his seat and went straight to the room that's formerly reserved for her anytime she visits. He opened the door and found her, arranging her room, looking rather undisturbed.

"Lily?" He called.

"Nicholas, I had hoped to assume my proper position since today we'll officially merge our companies together, the major reason we are married" she talked, without turning back to see who was even behind her.

"What's up with the sudden change?"

"About?"

"Relocation. Living here with me"

"You don't have to worry I won't inconvenience you"

"Lily!!" Nicholas shouted in livid as Lily took him and his questions for granted .

Lily finally turned, meeting his gaze. He was furious but not seriously furious. Just annoyed by her nonchalance.

"The ceremony is by six, Nicholas. This is four on the dot. You should start preparing" she said rather and continued placing her things in order.

Nicholas left, sending that she had come here to face the fight head-on. He didn't know if he should be happy or sad. So he removed his mind from it, and resolved to waiting for things to unfold.

The ceremony started rather quickly. Everything was all set and done. Lily wore a beautiful red dress, the one Floria had bought for her. To everyone it was beautiful but to Lily, she's ready to fight for her family. To take revenge on the Franklivanias!

Nicholas wore a stunning Ralph Lauren suits. He packed his hair and everything fell into place. He was breathtaking. Something about the evening made everyone outstandingly beautiful.

Mr Franklivania was merry. His life dream, coming to realization. Lustre was as precious as the jewels they produce. He couldn't wait to join their profit and prowess to that of FM Group.

He graced the hall with his ego in full measure. The audience were already excited and full of anticipation. Many were expecting another drama while others were just there for the sake of the event.

"Today, we'll witness the most memorable alliance of the 21st century. One that will be talked about throughout Vancouver..." Mr Franklivania spoke.

Lily felt a little light headed, hearing him speak of alliance, but took it as nothing serious. She listened until they were called onto the stage to announce the merging proper. Lily stood up, her hands held in a strange warmth by Nicholas. As they stepped upon the aisle, she felt lightheaded again, only to realize what was coming. She rubbed her temples lightly, praying for it to go away or rather controlled just like she did the last time.

Nicholas looked at her weirdly, realizing that she has been doing that very often when she's around him. Rubbing her temples.

Then it took both unawares. Her head banged, the visions clear like a cinema screen. So clear that she fell before they could step unto the stage.

She grew unconscious but in a strange place!

The crowd, who as if saw this coming brought out their phones to capture the situation. They whispered to themselves: The Franklivanias will never be devoid of drama!
