Chapter 149 - 149. The True Face Of The Huge PokéMon

Aww!!!

The soft cry echoed across the sea, blending with the sound from the lighthouse as if communicating something unusual.

However, the voice from the distant horizon was filled with much more emotion than the one from the lighthouse. It sounded like a song, a mournful melody that stirred feelings of sorrow and loneliness in anyone who heard it.

"It's here! It's here!" Professor Bill exclaimed excitedly, gripping the railing with both hands as he stared at the dark sea ahead.

Aww!!!

The voice continued to resonate across the water, and Misty and Brock could hear it too.

"It sounds like singing." As they listened, Misty and Brock shared a look of wonder, both captivated by the sound.

Ash and the Pokémon on the beach also took notice. The distant sea was shrouded in fog, and from within that mist, a figure began to emerge.

Its enormous size was breathtaking. The lighthouse itself was several stories high, perched atop a cliff, and yet this figure, standing in the shallows, was nearly as tall as the lighthouse.

"The mysterious Pokémon of legend... I finally have a chance to see your true form," Professor Bill murmured, eyes fixed on the massive silhouette.

"Professor, are you going to try and capture it?" Misty asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.

"No, I don't want to capture it. I just want to see it with my own eyes," Professor Bill replied, shaking his head. He wasn't a Trainer, and even if he were, he had no intention of taming this Pokémon.

After waiting for so long, all he wanted was to understand what kind of Pokémon could grow to such an incredible size.

Everyone was focused on the figure. Ash stood up with his Pokémon and made his way back to the base of the lighthouse, his eyes locked on the mysterious creature.

At first glance, it was difficult for anyone unfamiliar with the sheer scale of the figure to identify it, but Ash knew immediately—it was Dragonite.

Dragonite was an extremely rare and powerful Pokémon in this world.

While not a legendary Pokémon, its strength far surpassed that of most ordinary Pokémon. Among Pokémon, only a few had as much potential as Dragonite.

Not only Dragonite, but each region had Pokémon with similar potential, though they were all exceedingly rare.

This particular Dragonite, already rare, had grown to a truly colossal size. It must have lived for centuries, perhaps even longer.

There was a deep sense of loneliness in its voice, likely from the passage of so much time. The longer one lived, the more the weight of solitude grew. Perhaps for hundreds or even thousands of years, it had been alone.

With a body like its own, it would be nearly impossible to live alongside other creatures. Ordinary Pokémon, like Bulbasaur had once feared, would be overwhelmed by its size, reacting only with awe and fear. And so, it remained isolated, so very lonely.

"Watch out!!!"

Suddenly, a sharp sound cut through the air, and Pikachu let out a panicked cry. Ash quickly reacted, grabbing Pikachu just as it was being pulled away by a mysterious force.

"Pikachu! Whoa!!"

The force was strong, and though Ash held on tightly to Pikachu, his body was pulled forward uncontrollably. The Pokémon around them looked shocked, unable to react in time.

In an instant, Ash and Pikachu were yanked off the cliff, and they found themselves above a hot air balloon hovering in the sky. A spring-loaded device quickly retracted, pulling Ash and Pikachu toward the balloon.

On the lighthouse, Bill and the gigantic figure noticed the commotion.

"What's happening?" Bill asked, moving toward the guardrail, his eyes locked on the hot air balloon nearby.

"Ash! Pikachu!!" Brock and Misty shouted in alarm as they saw their friends being whisked away, panic clear on their faces.

Pidgeotto!!!!

Down by the cliff, Ash's Pokémon were left with no choice. Only Pidgeotto could keep up with the balloon, and it immediately took off in pursuit.

"Prepare for trouble!"

"And make it double!"

"To protect the world from devastation!"

"To unite all peoples within our nation!"

"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"

"To extend our reach to the stars above!"

Jessie!

James!

"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"

"Give up now or prepare to fight!"

Meowth, that's right!

"Meowth, don't let that bird get any closer!" came the familiar voice of none other than Team Rocket, flying in the hot air balloon.

"Leave it to me, meow!!" Meowth responded, leaning out of the balloon and pulling out a bazooka. Aiming at Pidgeotto, he fired.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Explosions filled the sky as Pidgeotto dodged frantically, its movements hindered by the barrage of cannonballs.

The explosions also sent shockwaves toward the lighthouse, where Bill and the others shielded themselves from the blasts.

Meanwhile, Ash clung to Pikachu, trying to free the mechanical pincers gripping his friend. Just as he was about to succeed, the balloon shook violently, causing Ash to lose balance.

"We want Pikachu! And this mysterious Pokémon—stay out of our way, twerp!" James yelled as he manipulated the controls, trying to shake Ash off.

Ash gritted his teeth and, with one final effort, pulled the pincers away from Pikachu.

Whoosh!!!

"Woo!!!"

Pikaaaa!!!

The moment the pincers released, Ash and Pikachu were thrown through the air. Pikachu let out a frightened cry as the two began plummeting toward the sea below.

"Pikachu!!" Ash shouted, instinctively hugging Pikachu tightly as they tumbled through the sky.

"Ash, Pikachu!" Bill and the others on the lighthouse watched in horror as the two fell. Even though the sea was below, the height made the fall incredibly dangerous.

!!!!

From within the mist, the enormous figure watched Ash and Pikachu fall. Ash held Pikachu close, his eyes filled with fear as the ground rushed toward them.

Suddenly, a massive hand emerged from the fog. Just as Ash and Pikachu were about to crash into the sea, the giant hand caught them. Ash felt a soft collision but no pain. He opened his eyes and realized he was being cradled by the enormous figure.

The giant had saved them.
