"It's really thanks to these children this time!" Seymour waved his hands in the direction Ash and the others had left, waiting until their figures disappeared completely before speaking again.
"That's right! The situation in Viridian City was also solved thanks to them," Officer Jenny added, nodding in agreement.
"With such potential, he'll definitely become a great Trainer in the future! I really look forward to seeing his growth. Let's head back!" Seymour said with a smile, then turned to Miss Joy.
"Okay! Ah!!!" Just as Officer Jenny responded, she glanced around and suddenly let out a scream.
"What's the matter?" Seymour asked quickly, concerned by her sudden reaction.
"The... the Pokémon is gone," Officer Jenny said, looking around with a hint of embarrassment. Seymour joined her in searching the area and realized that Axew was indeed missing, causing him to frown.
"How could it be? Could it have...?" Seymour began, surprised. He had seen Axew just a moment ago, but now it had vanished. A thought crossed his mind before he could finish his sentence.
"Could it have followed them?" Seymour quickly considered. Could Axew have left with Ash and the others?
"You mean it went with Ash and the others? But Ash didn't take it with him just now!" Officer Jenny said, realizing this possibility. They had been talking about returning Axew home, not taking it away.
"No, it's likely Axew followed Ash on its own. Ash has a unique charm that attracts Pokémon. I remember Clefable giving him the Moon Stone this morning, and that was because of his own kindness. In that earlier dangerous situation, Ash helped Clefable recover the Moon Stone, so Clefable repaid him.
Maybe when Ash prevented Axew from running away, it formed a bond with him."
"Officer Jenny, it shouldn't be a problem, right?" Seymour added thoughtfully. "Pokémon will eventually find their own Trainer. Such encounters might be fated. Ultimately, it depends on the Pokémon's own desires. If Axew has chosen Ash, there's no need to stop it."
"Indeed," Jenny replied, considering Seymour's words. "Those two mentioned that it was a wild Axew, not a Pokémon belonging to another Trainer. So, it's a wild Pokémon."
Jenny agreed that if Axew were someone else's Pokémon, they would need to return it, but since it was wild, it could decide which Trainer to follow. Even if those two weren't entirely truthful, a Pokémon with a Trainer wouldn't normally follow someone else willingly.
"Then let it be! It's fate," Seymour said with a smile, turning to leave.
Jenny didn't object. Axew was a wild Pokémon, and it had already gone. Even if they caught up to it, Axew might not want to come back. As Professor Seymour said, maybe this is really fate.
Meanwhile, Ash and his friends continued their journey down the mountain. Misty and Brock had also packed up and were ready to move on.
"Pika?" Pikachu's ears suddenly twitched as he sat on Ash's shoulder.
"What's the matter?" Ash asked, noticing Pikachu's sudden alertness.
"Pikapi!!" Pikachu turned to look behind him, but saw nothing. He tilted his head slightly, as if unsure whether he had imagined it.
"What's wrong, Ash?" Misty and Brock stopped as well, seeing that something had caught Ash and Pikachu's attention.
"Huh?" Ash glanced behind them, then closed his eyes briefly, trying to sense anything unusual. After a moment, he opened his eyes again, looking a bit puzzled.
"Come out!!" Ash suddenly called out, facing the empty road behind them. The dense forests on either side rustled slightly in the breeze, but there was no response.
"Ash, what are you talking about? It's not Team Rocket again, is it?" Misty asked quickly, her voice tinged with concern. She was more annoyed than worried by the thought of dealing with Team Rocket again.
Ash didn't respond right away but continued to shout, "Come on out, will you?"
Still, there was no movement. Ash sighed and shook his head, motioning to Misty and Brock. "Let's go!"
Axew!!!
Just as the three of them were about to continue, they heard a familiar cry. Instinctively, they stopped and turned around. Emerging from behind a tree was the familiar figure of Axew.
"Ah! Is that Axew? Didn't it leave with Officer Jenny and the others?" Misty asked, surprised to see the little Pokémon. She had thought it had been taken back by Officer Jenny.
"It looks like it followed us here," Brock observed, analyzing the situation.
"Huh? Doesn't it want to go home?" Misty wondered aloud.
"Do you want to come with us?" Ash asked, stepping forward without hesitation, addressing Axew directly.
Axew!!
Axew looked at Ash, then took a few determined steps forward, its eyes firm. After a moment, it nodded seriously.
"Then come along!" Ash said excitedly, pulling out a Poké Ball. He hadn't expected Axew to follow them, but he wasn't going to let the opportunity slip by.
Aiming carefully, Ash threw the Poké Ball towards Axew. The little dragon Pokémon leaped up, and with a swift movement, it tapped the button on the front of the Poké Ball with its claw.
Boom!!
The Poké Ball opened, enveloping Axew in a red light as it was drawn inside. The ball dropped to the ground, shaking slightly.
T!!
After a few shakes, the Poké Ball emitted a familiar sound. The red light faded, and the Poké Ball stayed closed, confirming Axew's capture.
