"The rain is getting heavier. Is Ash okay? Why don't we go and check on him?" Misty asked worriedly, gazing out the window of the lighthouse. The storm outside had worsened.
The sky was dark and the wind howled fiercely, rattling the windows. Outside, rain poured down in torrents, and the waves crashing against the shore were wild, like roaring beasts.
The intensifying rain had blurred the view of the seaside, making it impossible to see what was happening with Ash and the others, heightening Misty's concern.
"We can't go out now, even if we want to. We have to wait a little longer!" Brock said, squinting as he looked outside.
BANG!
"Ah!" Misty screamed, covering her ears as thunder boomed overhead. She trembled, feeling both scared and worried.
As the two fretted, Professor Bill stood silently by a window on the second floor, watching the storm. Despite the blurry view, he could make out several small, colored figures—likely Pokémon—facing the chaos.
The downpour had lasted for nearly half an hour, showing no signs of stopping. Ash and his Pokémon were still by the beach, though it had become nearly impossible to continue their training.
At that moment, Ash focused his energy, connecting with Pikachu. Pikachu stood still, closing its eyes as if sensing the crashing waves around them, letting them wash over him.
"Pika?"
Ash sensed Pikachu's sudden unease. Feeling it himself, he opened his eyes. His gaze sharpened, glowing with a red tint. Looking out over the beach, Ash spotted a massive wave forming. This wasn't just a wave—it was a tsunami.
The towering wall of water stretched across the shoreline, threatening to engulf not only Ash and Pikachu but the other Pokémon as well.
The tsunami, once it crashed ashore, would pull everything in its path back into the sea with tremendous force. Except for Squirtle, none of the other Pokémon were fully equipped to handle such an overwhelming wave, even those accustomed to water.
Pikachu opened his eyes, staring at the incoming wave. The other Pokémon rushed to Ash's side through the heavy rain, ready to protect him.
"You've always counted on me to protect you, but I know I can count on you too," Ash said, deeply moved by his Pokémon's loyalty as the red glow in his eyes intensified.
"This time, we'll make it work. Pikachu, use Surf!"
Ash's eyes flashed red again as a connection formed between him and Pikachu. With his command, Pikachu dashed forward, racing across the water.
This time, Pikachu didn't falter. He charged toward the tsunami, leaping high into the air and reaching the towering wave's peak.
"Go, Pikachu!!!" Ash shouted, his eyes gleaming.
BANG!
A lightning bolt struck, splitting the sky with a deafening crack. The bolt coursed through the rain, wrapping around Pikachu in a brilliant electrical surge.
"Pika ~~~ Chuuuu!!!!"
With Pikachu's cry, the sea below stirred, rising into a colossal wave. Pikachu, now wreathed in lightning, descended from the sky.
Stepping directly on the rising waves, the electric current from Pikachu's body spread across the water. The waves themselves crackled with electricity, becoming charged with Pikachu's power. Now, they weren't just waves—they were infused with the force of thunder and lightning.
Under Pikachu's control, the electrified waves surged forward, racing toward the incoming tsunami. It was as if two colossal monsters were charging at each other.
Bang!! Boom Boom!!!
When the two waves collided, an immense power exploded from the impact. As the sea waters crashed together, they merged briefly, but the force was still intense. The thunder and lightning coiled around Pikachu's wave detonated on impact, sending water soaring into the sky. Though Pikachu's wave wasn't as large as the tsunami, it was strong enough to block the section threatening Ash and the Pokémon.
A gap had been opened in the tsunami, significantly weakening its force. The remaining wave still crashed against the reefs and woods on both sides, but the area around Ash remained protected.
As the tsunami's force ebbed, the water began to recede, dragging sand, debris, and broken branches back into the sea. Ash and his Pokémon stood drenched, rain and seawater soaking them to the core.
"Pikachu!!"
Ash, without a second thought, dashed forward and dove into the water like a fish. His Pokémon looked on with concern, and Squirtle immediately swam after him.
The others wanted to follow, but their attributes held them back. Charmander could handle the rain, but diving into the water was too much for him, so he could only wait anxiously on the shore.
Five minutes passed. Then ten.
With each passing second, the tsunami's retreat seemed to signal the end of the storm. The seaside weather, always unpredictable, shifted quickly. The wind began to die down, the heavy rain lessened, and the waves gradually calmed. The dark clouds started to break apart, and beams of sunlight streamed through, casting a warm glow over the ocean.
Splash!!!
All eyes turned to the water as a familiar figure emerged. It was Ash, holding a weary Pikachu in his arms. Squirtle clung to Ash's back as he struggled to the surface, breathing heavily.
Seeing Ash and Pikachu safe, the Pokémon on the shore let out joyful cries.
Ash stumbled back onto the beach, collapsing onto the sand, gasping for breath. But no sooner had he hit the ground than his Pokémon all piled on top of him, nuzzling him affectionately.
"Hahahahaha! If you all do this, I'm going to be crushed!" Ash laughed.
