A gust of wind suddenly blew by, and the coolness made Ash's forehead feel like it was stung by salt.

"Hey! Wait a minute!!" Ash instinctively looked ahead and shouted.

"What... ah!" But it was too late. Misty and Brock had already stepped forward when suddenly, the bridge began to shake.

Both of them showed panicked expressions, and before they could react, one side of the bridge's rope snapped.

"Ah!!!" They screamed in unison. Without thinking, Ash rushed toward them. In the chaos, Misty instinctively reached out and grabbed Ash, holding him tightly.

At this point, one side of the bridge had collapsed, but the other side was still connected. Ash held Misty with one hand while grabbing the remaining rope with the other to stabilize them, but he couldn't reach Brock.

"Ugh!!!" Brock had been looking at the map just moments earlier, and everything happened so fast that he hadn't had time to grab the rope. He slipped, sliding down the broken bridge.

In the end, he couldn't hold on and fell. His voice grew distant as he disappeared into the valley below. Misty, realizing what had happened, turned her head and shouted in worry.

"Brock!!"

They saw Brock fall into the valley below, where a rushing river swept him away immediately.

"What do we do, Ash? Brock was washed away!" Misty asked frantically.

Just as she finished speaking, she felt herself slipping and hugged Ash even tighter. To her shock, Ash let go of the rope. Misty, terrified, froze in place, too scared to move.

"Ash, what are you doing?!"

"Trust me!" Ash replied calmly. As they both began to fall, Ash reached for a Poké Ball at his waist.

"Go! Gyarados!" As they plummeted toward the water, Ash threw the Poké Ball. It activated mid-air, and Gyarados appeared, landing in the river below just as Ash and Misty fell.

Gyarados caught them both, and Ash landed behind its massive body, gripping its fin to keep them steady.

Misty had closed her eyes, certain she was going to hit the water. But after a moment, she realized she hadn't.

When she slowly opened her eyes, she saw that although they were on the surface of the water, they hadn't fallen in. After looking more carefully, she realized she was sitting on Gyarados. Ash, seeing that she had opened her eyes, let go of his hold. Misty exhaled in relief, collapsing onto Gyarados' back.

"That scared me to death!" She gasped, momentarily forgetting her fear of Gyarados. When she realized where she was, she held her breath, but when she saw Gyarados was only focused on moving forward, she relaxed slightly. Though still nervous, she couldn't deny Gyarados had saved them, which eased her fear a little.

"Gyarados, head downstream, please."

With a roar of acknowledgment, Gyarados swiftly carried Ash and Misty downstream.

He said he couldn't remember anything earlier. It turned out it was because of the bridge. He should have recalled it after meeting Bulbasaur. There are a lot of traps around here.

But it's been so many years now, and it's already been three years since I came to this world. In the original world, the Pokémon series had over 1,000 episodes by then. It started to get more boring, so I paid less attention to it.

I've forgotten many details, but at least I managed to tame a Gyarados.

"Brock might be in trouble!" Misty said, her worry growing for Brock's safety.

"He should be fine!" Ash replied, standing behind Gyarados as they traveled downstream. Gyarados moved quickly in the water, undisturbed by the turbulent river, handling it with ease.

Though Gyarados was fast, Brock had fallen much earlier, so there was still no sign of him. Ash and Misty continued downstream, searching for about 15 minutes, when they finally spotted Brock.

On the right side of the riverbank, Brock was standing there, his clothes still drenched. Beside him stood a woman with blue hair, appearing a year or two older than Brock.

"Hey!! Brock!!!" Misty called out as soon as she saw him.

"Huh?" Both Brock and the woman noticed Ash and Misty approaching. Brock was a bit surprised to see them.

Realizing that Ash and Misty had caught up to him so quickly on Gyarados, Brock felt moved by their concern.

Ash instructed Gyarados to move toward the shore, and as they arrived, Misty disembarked first, followed by Ash, who then returned Gyarados to its Poké Ball.

"Brock, are you okay?" Misty asked as they walked over.

"I'm fine, thanks to this lovely lady who saved me!" Brock replied, smiling politely at the woman beside him.

"Hehe! You don't need to be so formal. Just call me Melanie," she said with a smile, waving her hands. Ash couldn't help but think her name sounded oddly down-to-earth.

The three of them introduced themselves, and after a quick exchange, they learned that Brock had fallen from the bridge earlier.

"It turns out that was the case. I'm really sorry about that; the bridge was actually a trap," Melanie explained apologetically.

"A trap? Why? That's so dangerous!" Misty said, shocked by the revelation.

"I'm sorry," Melanie replied, still looking apologetic. "Our village doesn't want outsiders coming here, so we've set up several traps in the area."

"Why would your village do that?" Misty asked, still puzzled by the situation.

"The reason is... well, come with me!" Melanie hesitated but, after sensing that Ash and his friends weren't bad people, decided to lead them into the nearby grass.

They soon arrived at a special clearing in the jungle. In the middle of the clearing stood a wooden house, and in front of it was a unique lake, shaped like a heart.

Some Pokémon were playing happily outside the house, while others were swimming freely in the lake. When they noticed Ash and the others, the Pokémon seemed a little scared.
