"So that's how it is! If you want to go to Vermilion City, just walk straight from the school," the principal explained, feeling a bit embarrassed. The thick fog created by their school's curriculum had caused them to get lost.

However, this unexpected encounter turned out to be a blessing for the principal. After listening to his directions, the three travelers had no intention of lingering.

After all, they weren't students at the school—it was a closed college, and staying there wasn't convenient for them.

"Then we'll be on our way!"

Boom!!!

Suddenly, a black sphere was thrown into the playground. The students paused when they noticed it, and then watched as it exploded with a loud bang, filling the area with thick smoke.

"What's going on? Isn't today's training already over?" The principal's expression shifted slightly, thinking the fog training session hadn't ended yet.

"Since you asked what's happening, we'll kindly tell you."

A voice echoed from within the smoke. Hearing this, Ash and his friends were left speechless.

Prepare for trouble!

And make it double!

To protect the world from devastation!

To unite all people within our nation!

To denounce the evils of truth and love!

To extend our reach to the stars above!

Jessie!

James!

Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light! Surrender now, or prepare to fight!

Meowth! That's right!

"Sure enough, it's them again!"

Misty clutched her forehead in exasperation, shaking her head slightly. She knew exactly what was going on the moment she heard the first line. These guys never give up.

Sundae, who was nearby, also heard the conversation. Before he could speak, the smoke cleared, revealing a man and a woman standing before them.

Jessie, James, and Meowth were now visible, standing in front of everyone.

"Do you know them?" Sundae asked Ash and the others, puzzled by the strange duo and the talking Meowth.

"These guys are villains who specialize in stealing other people's Pokémon," Misty quickly explained.

Sundae and the others grew cautious upon hearing this. The principal eyed the two figures and focused on the emblem on their uniforms.

"Huh? That logo... Team Rocket?"

After all, the principal wasn't a child. Many adults were aware of Team Rocket, but they generally kept that information from the kids unless absolutely necessary.

"Oh? You actually know Team Rocket? Then you must understand how powerful we are. Hurry up and hand over all your Pokémon!" Team Rocket boasted, clearly proud that someone recognized them.

"Students, these people are villains who specialize in stealing Pokémon. Feel free to send out your Pokémon and defeat them!" The principal shouted to the surrounding students.

Hearing this, Jessie and James' expressions changed. They had been too focused on showing off and hadn't noticed their surroundings. Now, they realized they were surrounded by the students of Pokémon Academy.

Though the students were just kids, dozens of them could easily overwhelm Team Rocket, even if they just threw Poké Balls.

"Hey, hey, this isn't fair! According to the rules, it should be one-on-one! How are you educating these students, principal? Do you realize you're setting a bad example for them?" James protested.

"There's no need to follow the rules when dealing with criminals like you!" the principal retorted, his love for the students evident.

In recent years, Team Rocket had become more rampant in both the Kanto and Johto regions. Although the police and the Elite Four had been addressing the problem, Team Rocket had still caused many children to be separated from their Pokémon.

As a result, all Trainers despised Team Rocket. As the principal, he wasn't going to let them off easily—he intended to teach them a lesson.

Hearing this, the Rocket trio realized they were in trouble.

"In that case, let's defeat the bad guys together!" Sundae led the charge, and the other students quickly followed suit, throwing their Poké Balls.

Hundreds of Poké Balls were launched simultaneously, some landing directly on Jessie and the others before even opening. Seeing the overwhelming response, the trio didn't dare stick around and bolted out the door in desperation.

"It's too much! Bullying the few with the many!"

"Darn it! We won't let you get away with this, you little brats. You won't be so lucky next time!" they shouted as they ran off in embarrassment.

"Looks like we didn't need to lift a finger this time," Misty sighed in relief, not because she was scared, but because these guys were so annoying. This time, they were dealt with quickly.

"I didn't expect Team Rocket to show up here. It seems we need to be more vigilant," the principal remarked seriously after watching the scene.

Ash smiled slightly, wanting to tell him not to worry, as Team Rocket's real target wasn't the school. But there was no harm in being cautious.

"Since everything's settled, we'll be on our way."

Without further delay, the principal and everyone at the academy bid farewell to those preparing to leave. Joe especially thanked Ash, and they all watched the trio as they departed.

After wasting so much time on this incident, Ash and his friends weren't in the mood for afternoon tea. They packed up and continued their journey. Before they knew it, dusk had fallen, and night was approaching.

###!!!!

"There's so much in the world that school can't teach us." At dusk, Sundae sat by the pool, watching the sunset with a contemplative expression.

"I've decided to leave the academy, return home, and start traveling like Ash, raising my Pokémon from the beginning," a voice said from behind.

Sundae turned to find Joe, who looked completely different from his earlier, timid self. He now appeared more confident.

"That's great! I hope we get to compete in the Pokémon League someday."

"Don't call me a top student. Ash was right—there's no hierarchy among trainers, whether you're in school or not."

"I think it's time I train hard too. Let's meet again someday!" Sundae stood up and extended his hand. Joe, momentarily surprised, quickly responded and shook his hand.
