Part 1 – The Sacrificial Requirement:
"Understood, I shall undergo the necessary arrangements to make sure that I get the sacrifice.", Clara stood before the Gods' Council. I stood there baffled at the entire situation. I always presumed that the individuals on this planet hated to learn the truth of the world since that would lead to the loss of freedom of their body, and yet here is a girl, who is willingly taking up the offer of gaining heaven's powers just so that she will be able to cure her loved one—a sacrifice with no boundaries for the one that she truly loves.
This was no easy sacrifice, either. A species usually has to procreate and ensure that there are individuals present to take care of the present generation as well as future generations of the species. Clara was ready to strip her fertility, a vital resource for any species, just for a singular reason.
This reason might have consequences in the future.
"Think about it again Clara. You do realize that if you commit to this change, you will not be able to embrace progeny. You will lose a little bit of yourself. Please do not act out of impulse and make a cautious decision.", I warned her.
"What use would children be if I don't have a husband to look after them with? What use would anything in my life be if I didn't have him by my side? Tell me. Once you come growing up in this hellish land and you're given a small gift known as the warmth of love, why will I not chase it? Will it not be better for me to focus on that rather than to focus on the future? What future will exist if this person is not there in my life? No one will be left for me to love. We are wrong? I believe this person to be the only soulmate that can ever exist. Please… Let me not rethink this decision of mine." Clara stood by her statement and looked at the heavenly skies.
Odorned for greatness…
Starred with stellar opportunity…
Shrouded in mysteries of sacrifice…
There was nothing else that could be explained…
Minerva: It seems that you are extremely clear with your decision. Very well then, girl. You shall become my servant for the next generation of this experiment that we are conducting. You shall bear my knowledge. You shall bear my strength and be with me.
Stating those words.
The truth was absorbed.
Clara began to scream at her newfound power. She began to profusely sweat and tear up at the same time. Moments passed and then came the laughter. As Minerva's traits slowly came into effect within Clara, there was a sharp pain present in her abdomen.
I stood there in absolute disbelief, and there was absolutely nothing that was in my control. Sure, my masters were the game masters for this experiment, but I wouldn't dare to object to something that they were trying with this world.
Clara then fell unconscious.
Minerva: As part of my deal, I shall free him of this world's curse and truth. I shall make sure that he attains the required treatment for healing. However, from now onwards, this girl will come with me.
"Come with you? What do you mean? Wait… I want to be with him… where are you taking me???" Clara questioned in a fit of rage.
"I tried to warn you." I calmly told her, as she was taken to the heavenly skies to the location of the experiment.
And that was the end of that…
Or was it??

Moments passed.
I stood waiting patiently over Subject Boy's body until it gained consciousness again.
"Where am I?", he had finally woken up.
"You're finally awake, boy. I have been waiting for quite some time.", I replied.
"You're the messenger? Wait does that mean? Oof, why has the pain in my head become so much less? Where is Clara?", he questioned me.
"Calm down first. Clara has done something that I don't think you would have agreed with. But I am sure that you will make sure that you will make amends."
"What do you mean? Where is Clara, messenger?" Subject Boy asked with a stern face.
I cleared my misty throat and stared into his soul.
"The truth has been forgotten and the sacrifice has been taken up by her. You are now free of your disease. You are no longer unhealthy." I made sure to construct a statement that would deviate from the rules of this world.
"I see, I have no idea what you mean, but where is Clara?", he continued again.
"Clara has been taken away. She sacrificed herself so that you can be free." I replied with a heavy heart. My experiment had failed. I wanted to gather more points of data, but it seems like I will be forever in the shadow of these stupid gods that exist on this forsaken planet.
"What do you mean sacrificed? I can't live in a world without her, you know? I don't know what will I do without her. She… Please tell me she is alive." He looked at me with teared-up eyes as if he was about to have lost everything in his life.
Subject Boy was about to turn into somebody who seemed to have lost hope in living, lost hope in existing, and lost hope in coping. Nothing wanted to enter his head and he wanted to lose it all. He wanted to forgive her and at the same time, he cursed the one he called his soulmate.
Was this the connection that is present between strongly bonded individuals? So much trust and love between two beings, that if broken can cause the individuals to lose their sanity. To lose their cool and to completely shake the actual version of themselves. This was not the man I knew three years back. He has changed, either for good or bad reason is debatable.
"Why… WHY???" he cried.
"Why did you let her go away??"
Part 2 – When the heavens fall:
He looked into my eyes. He wanted a pure answer.
"You were saved. There's nothing more to that answer." I replied. There was truly nothing more to that answer. Nothing could be done at that point that would change anything.
Absolutely nothing…
The thrones in the heavenly skies seemed to take notice of this boy and they seemed to deem him worthy.
I looked at the sky and turned to my primordial form. "You dare to take another one of my subjects for your experiment, miserable wretches? How dare you disregard the experiment of the disciple of your gamemasters?"
"We have no respect for you. You show up unannounced and then take up the spots that we have been carrying for years? How dare you presume that we are on even talking terms. This is one place where you have no right to speak, so pipe down. There are still many more things to be worried about rather than the respect we show you. However, there is still something that bothers me, and it is with this child. I feel like he would be an excellent candidate to become a new candidate for the experiment."
That was the All-Father Odin. That miserable drunkard has no business stating these lines and then acting all high and egotistical.
"Just know, I have every right to completely shatter this experiment. The only reason why I chose not to is because I respect my masters. Therefore, you guys are not even worth my time. Just get off my back." I replied.
Odin: "It makes no sense. This is a potential candidate for me and I shall make him mine. Hey kid, do you want to know the actual secret of this world?"
I was in no mood to handle this especially when Clara had just sacrificed herself to make sure that this man did not get any sickness again.
In a fit of rage, I hurled a misty lance at the sky from where Odin was speaking and then let my lance rage in the atmosphere.
"As you know, you might not be able to see her again, boy. She sacrificed herself to become part of an experiment so that you may be free. I am afraid that you two might not be able to see each other. I tried to warn her, but she was insistent on making sure that you would be fine." I told him in a rather convoluted manner. I didn't want to attract any more potential gods to our location.
"I loved her. She was … I loved her to bits. You cannot take her away from me. Aren't you the messenger of love? Can't you do anything about it?", the man asked with heavy tears in his eyes.
He truly looked like a man who had just lost everything in his life. "Please tell me, I beg you". He pleaded and begged me to find him a solution.
"There is one solution, but it would go completely against what I would want you to have. Against what Clara would have wanted.", I told him.
"Does not matter. If I am forced to live in a world without her, I might as well be sacrificed to the gods for something that I have not done. I have no worth living in this world without her." It seemed as though the man had truly changed. "Let me tell the world, that I am ready for the truth. That I, Egoister, am truly ready for everything that can be thrown at me. I have nothing to lose, and I don't know what to gain. Therefore, I have a very weird perspective on this matter. Therefore, make sure that I get the deal properly."
Egoister looked at me sternly. His eyes glistened like the twin moons of Bakaskas. At that moment, a heavenly barrier seems to have opened in front of Egoister.
"Do you want to know the truth?"
Part 3 – I am the Rain itself
Egoister peered into the sky with ambitious eyes. He was ready to meet her in a ride-or-die state.
"I am ready to kill this world if I need to find her. I will not forgive anyone if this is the state."
A voice was heard… "You certainly seem like the ambitious type. Why don't you become my servant? I shall get you closer to the girl and make sure that you get your desire. However, there is a slight catch. I shall choose what you shall sacrifice."
That voice belonged to Tlaloc.
"Fine by me. As long as it should be manageable, then I will take up on that offer."
Tlaloc: "Good boy, I shall then take your memories of the girl. You shall be obedient to me and I want to see your relation with this girl. Therefore, your sacrifice shall be the memories that you have spent with this girl. Effectively, you would have forgotten all the experiences that you have with her, and her essentially being your predetermined girlfriend. That is my condition. Unfortunately, you cannot back out, since you have heard the truth of the sacrifice, and accepted the terms and conditions."
I screamed. It was the breaking point for me. These gods seemed to think that my subjects were just playthings for their larger experiment. What do you mean that Egoister would lose memories of Clara? That would destroy her. I have to inform her as soon as possible.
I kneeled and entered into a service position.
"Oh, master. Please give me guidance on the path I should follow to reach her." In an instant, I managed to gather the location where Clara was kept and instantly rushed there. I cannot believe that the experiment has taken this turn.

This was the location, where the outcome will be decided about my experiment.
I reached and immediately went to find Clara. Jumping from mind to mind to find her, it was nigh impossible to locate this individual due to the restrictions that Minerva had put on her.
After a few minutes, I called her to tell her the news. "Egoister has lost your memories."
That was the final statement I made before I jumped back to see her reaction.
Clara…
She…
She fell to her knees.
She felt lost.
She had just lost her fertility and gained the wartime wisdom of god's powers. She was now a servant for a game that was to be played by the gods and now she got news that the one that she sacrificed herself to save, has lost all memories of her.
"You're kidding, right? That is the truth of this world, isn't it? It is just one big game for the gods to play with our lives. It is just one stupid thing to see who wins and loses, without actually thinking about our lives, right? I mean we are just toys for them…" She cried bitterly.
I stared at the upcoming servant and saw a man coming to comfort Clara.
To my absolute baffling shock, it was none other than Egoister.
The good nature present in the man had not disappeared and he went to see who was the girl crying.
Clara stared and saw the face of the man she once loved. "I loved you" she uttered before collapsing to the ground.
Egoister's face was in shock, but he caught the fainting body before it hit the ground.
Maybe this was the outcome that I was expecting, I tried to tell myself.
Maybe this is how their story will continue…
Clara will know the truth behind the entire life they had.
And Egoister will continue to live on with this life.
They might probably become close again.
Or they might probably lose their selves and fight to the death.
Such is the nature of the world that they live in.
Such is the tale between the two.
I stared into the sky and sighed.
Logging Entry: I think I now understand the basics of what a relationship bond exactly is. What it means to be in a relationship and what partners are willing to do for each other. What partners want to do with each other. My understanding broadens and my horizons need to expand. Will revisit to check on these two again.
Part 4 – Rain and Wisdom:
The conclusion I drew, was that these two might rekindle their relationship. The hypothesis was true. It took them some time, but with the absent-minded knowledge of Egoister and Clara knowing all of his weak points, it was very quick. Clara wasted no time in proposing to Egoister and making sure that this was the man that she was going to get married to.
A soul bonded to another soul.
Reminds me a lot about the Master of Finality and his wife.
The bond that they share, is in an almost ride-or-die state.
Master's wife was ready to sacrifice the entire universe just to have her husband, my master safe.
I think this would be a good location to end this experiment and check on it later, for there are still many things to be learnt in this quest of 'love'.
Thus,
This is where the Tale of Rain and Wisdom ends…
