Chapter 64 - 2

Chapter 6: God of thunder descends to The World

In the chaotic laboratory, Yon-Rogg and his team looked grim.

They had expected their mission on this underdeveloped planet to go smoothly, and the soldiers they brought were merely to ensure Carol didn't lose control. Unexpectedly, they encountered a formidable opponent whose fighting style was akin to that of an uncivilized barbarian...

The once-confident Star Troopers were now in disarray, and the Kree soldiers lay defeated. If Yon-Rogg hadn't seized the opportunity to strike with all his might and knocked Mjölnir out of the laboratory, taking him down would have been nearly impossible.

Yon-Rogg, with a dark expression, ordered, "Take Carol away. The Supreme Intelligence will restore her to normal." He then turned to Thor, who was being restrained. "Minerva, take this person to another room. He's a fine fighter, and the Supreme Intelligence will subdue him and make him ours."

The Supreme Intelligence is a collective consciousness with no fixed form, becoming whatever is most significant to people.

At this moment, the image before Thor was—

"Uh, Chris Hemsworth? No, is that me?"

The Supreme Intelligence looked at its own reflection and sneered. "I didn't expect you to be such a self-absorbed narcissist. You're only the second such person I've encountered. The first was Yon-Rogg."

"Really?" Thor wasn't fazed. In fact, he was mentally prepared. "I suddenly have a question. If a dog had come to see you, what would you have turned into? A leash?"

The Supreme Intelligence's expression remained impassive. "You should know it's unwise to provoke me."

"But it doesn't matter. You'll soon become our soldier." As it spoke, it extended its hand, and blue energy enveloped Thor.

Suddenly, Thor felt an immense pressure bearing down on him. The force was so overwhelming that he could barely move, and his head was spinning. He realized the Supreme Intelligence was attempting to control him, so he fought to stay conscious.

"Give up! Without a weapon, you're just a mortal. You can't resist me!" the Supreme Intelligence's voice echoed.

Thor gritted his teeth, struggling as though a heavy millstone was crushing his chest. He found it increasingly difficult to breathe, nearly suffocating. The pressure around him intensified, threatening to overwhelm him at any moment.

But then Thor gradually calmed himself. All sounds around him seemed to fade, and time itself appeared to stand still.

Meanwhile, Minerva observed Thor's struggle from the beginning, growing increasingly anxious. She shook her head to dispel her unease, not noticing the faint electrical arcs forming around Thor's hand.

The Supreme Intelligence intensified its efforts, but Thor's willpower was far stronger than anticipated. The futile struggle seemed meaningless.

At that moment, a cold, mocking voice echoed.

"I am the prince of Asgard, the God of Thunder. With a single command, the power of Bifrost will descend immediately. No one can leave me behind."

"As long as I call for Mjölnir, no matter how far away it is, it will return to me. Until it is back in my hands, no one can stop it, least of all the trash outside."

"If I want to escape, it's effortless. I've been with you for so long; what delusion makes you think you can win?"

Thor's body began to tremble, and he felt a terrifying power awakening within him. Success was imminent!

Elsewhere, Yon-Rogg and his team watched Carol Danvers with intense focus.

"She's trying to break free." The station's energy started to falter, and the lights began to flicker. Simultaneously, dense dark clouds gathered outside the space station, in lower atmosphere and large amount of static electricity started to build up on Earth's upper atmosphere.

In the illusion, Carol's fierce expression softened. "In the past, I could only use half of my strength in battle. But have you considered what happens if I ask you to restrain me?" The chip fell to the ground and shattered, breaking the illusion.

Golden light enveloped her entire body, and her eyes opened, shining with brilliant golden light.

Captain Marvel had officially arrived.

At the same time, a massive cluster of thunderbolts, nearly a kilometer wide, condensed in the thunderclouds and formed into a one-meter-thick lightning spear, which struck Thor with tremendous force.

The enormous impact nearly shattered the entire space station. Thor, surrounded by purple thunder and lightning, rose slowly, his eyes glowing with a dazzling purple light...

Thor, reborn.

Chapter 7: Destruction

Back in Asgard, Thor contemplated his future. He recognized three major opportunities to enhance his strength.

The first opportunity arose during the final battle, a time when his power would primarily be reflected in his physical strength. Despite being consistently disadvantaged, he could briefly match Thanos in combat. Thor speculated that becoming the King of Asgard might increase his strength over time, similar to how Hela's power grew.

Typically, unlocking this power would take more than twenty years. However, Thor anticipated that the war would conclude in Wakanda at most, so he sought to acquire this power earlier through system tasks.

The second opportunity involved crafting Stormbreaker. With Stormbreaker, he could counteract the amount of power of the Infinity Stones that Thanos could mobilize and defeat Thanos. In the original timeline, he used the invincible Stormbreaker to decapitate Thanos. While Thor could forge a new axe at any time, it was a king's weapon that can summon bifrost .

The third opportunity was awakening his Thunder Force. Although he was known as the God of Thunder, most of his power depended on Mjölnir. Without the hammer, Thor became nearly powerless, much like his earlier encounters with Yon-Rogg and others.

Despite Mjölnir's ability to return instantly at his call, Thor worried about what would happen if the hammer failed unexpectedly. Observing Carol's situation over the past two days, he noticed similarities between their powers. Both had hidden strengths that were difficult to control and relied on external objects—Thor's hammer and Carol's chip.

Thus, Thor had deliberately displayed his strength and allowed himself to be captured, hoping the Supreme Intelligence's pressure would serve as the trail of will and overcoming it would trigger his power's awakening, just as it had for Carol. His plan succeeded.

Feeling the surge of power within him, Thor felt capable of destroying everything with a mere gesture.

Minerva's eyes widened in shock. She immediately shouted, "Quick, shoot and kill him!"

A burst of purple lightning erupted from Thor's hand, spreading across the ground. Within moments, all the surrounding soldiers were turned to ash.

Minerva, desperately rolling away, narrowly avoided a lightning strike. As she aimed her sniper rifle again in disbelief, the weapon transformed into a flaming stick. His entire body went numb, rendering him immobile.

Thor carried Minerva towards the Skrulls. Many Kree soldiers attempted to intercept them but were incinerated by the surrounding lightning.

Elsewhere, Carol handed the Tesseract to Nick Fury and turned to confront the Star Troopers. She saw Thor approaching and asked, "Did you do this on purpose?"

Thor, observing his thunderous state, laughed. He also noticed Carol's situation and replied, "No, I almost had a misstep." He then joked, "How do you feel? Goldie ?"

"It feels amazing, Mr. Pikachu..." Carol rolled her eyes, glancing at Yon-Rogg and his entourage. "You can only choose one: the Tesseract or the hostage (Minerva)."

"I'm no longer amused by your humor," Yon-Rogg replied grimly. "It's an honor for her to sacrifice for the Kree Empire. Kill them all!" The Star Troopers charged forward.

The Star Troopers were no match for Carol and Thor. Realizing the Tesseract had been dropped, Yon-Rogg abandoned his team and flew solo to track down the Skrulls.

Carol pursued him alone, while Thor transported Minerva to another spaceship. He still couldn't fly.

On the spaceship, Thor teased Minerva, "Do you know I saved your life?"

Minerva, expressionless, harbored resentment—not only towards Thor but also Carol. She cursed her fate for being captured and transported to this desolate place.

Thor paid no attention to her reaction. He knew that not many in the Kree Star Troopers were genuine allies, and Minerva was kept mainly due to her appearance. He narrowed his eyes, focusing intently.

In the vacuum of space, no sound could be heard, but the bright light drew Minerva's attention. She looked back and saw a massive thunderbolt, over ten meters wide, striking the laboratory. The enormous force caused the laboratory to disintegrate immediately.

Chapter VIII: Qualifications

Back on the ground, Thor handed Minerva over to Nick Fury's custody. He left a small bolt of lightning within Minerva's body; the effect was similar to a tranquilizer, rendering her immobile for a short period.

Timing his actions, Thor noted that Ronan the Accuser was approaching soon. Since Thor could only rely on jumping at the moment, he couldn't intervene in the aerial battle, and he wasn't planning to. Ronan was a coward who would likely flee.

More critically, when Thor returned, he attempted to summon Mjölnir but discovered that although the hammer hadn't lost contact, it didn't return immediately. It seemed to be signaling Thor to wait.

Thor was puzzled, but he could sense Mjölnir's location, so he decided to investigate. As for Ronan, he would leave that to Carol.

In a vast expanse of snow, two groups faced off.

One group consisted of fully armed adult men confronting a young girl who appeared to be around twelve or thirteen years old.

Despite her numerous scars, the girl's eyes remained indifferent, firm, and unyielding, showing no sign of fear.

I am an orphan.

For as long as I can remember, I've been wandering alone, without knowledge of my origins or parents. I scavenged for food during the day from trash cans and fought other beggars for a spot to sleep in the park at night.

Eventually, a middle-aged man in military uniform took me in. He brought me to a place where I had bread to eat and warm clothes to wear, so I no longer had to shiver in the cold. I met many other homeless children there and once believed it was a paradise.

Unfortunately, it wasn't.

Soon after, intimidating instructors arrived at the base to teach us combat skills, how to use various weapons and firearms. Those who failed to learn were either locked in a dark room and starved or whipped.

A few of my fellow trainees disappeared without explanation. Perhaps they were dismissed for incompetence?

Fortunately, I learned quickly and received fewer beatings.

A few years later, we were sent out on missions assigned by the instructors. These ranged from theft to protecting wealthy individuals, and sometimes even to killing people.

As a child, we were often less cautious.

I eventually learned that our base had been illegal for years and would go underground the following year. Some unfortunate companions were killed during missions. The number of initial training partners had dwindled to a few. Each time I heard about a companion's death, I wondered—when would it be my turn? Maybe next time?

I faced danger numerous times but managed to survive.

I considered resisting and even escaping.

I didn't want to live like this forever.

But I lacked the ability to resist and couldn't escape.

In reality, I was watched every time I left the base.

They thought I was unaware, but I had already discovered it.

Every escape attempt by others ended in a tragic death.

I can still remember their horrifying faces.

In a few days, I would graduate. I had heard that the graduation ceremony would be particularly terrifying...

Is this my fate? Perhaps dying in a mission is the best end?

Would I just die like this?

No, there are no absolutes. Anything can happen as long as you're breathing. As long as I have a chance, I will escape from this hellish place. Just one chance!

A loud explosion jolted me from my thoughts. A nearby building collapsed into ruins, and deafening air raid sirens blared. A group of heavily armed soldiers approached.

An enemy attack? This organization is very powerful and secretive, so such an event was unexpected.

As I approached the explosion site, my eyes fell on— a hammer?

I stepped forward cautiously, examining the unusual hammer. Taking a deep breath, I reached out and grasped the handle, lifting it.

In the next moment, the atmosphere trembled, the sky darkened, and thunder and lightning roared.

Chapter 9: A Fateful Encounter, The Long-Lost Mr. System

High in the sky, a fighter jet hovered. Thor stared in astonishment at the young girl below. Just moments ago, this girl, who appeared no older than a teenager, had killed more than a dozen people with an almost expressionless face.

What shocked him even more was that the Mjölnir was in the girl's hand.

What is going on? My Mjölnir doesn't want me anymore? The first time I brought you out, you ran off with someone else?

By the time the girl came into his view, she was already covered in blood, clearly having been pursued for some time.

Thor prepared to intervene. Anyone who could wield Mjölnir was certainly extraordinary. Moreover, this group of soldiers seemed far from being a legitimate organization.

Thor wouldn't admit it, but he had to admit that the girl was quite cute…

"Shoot the uncontrolled weapon and then destroy it!" The leader of the soldiers barked an order, and the soldiers around raised their guns, preparing to fire.

The girl tightened her grip on the hammer, ready to unleash thunder and lightning. If I must die, let's see how many of you I'll take with me…

"Boom—"

A deafening explosion followed, and in the next moment, the sky darkened as countless bolts of lightning rained down.

There was no blood or gore, just the violent energy of the lightning creating intense heat.

Many soldiers didn't even have time to scream; their bodies were instantly carbonized and disintegrated.

In mid-air, a figure in black armor descended from the sky.

With a loud crash, Thor made his entrance.

As soon as the tension eased, the girl's eyes fluttered closed and she lost consciousness.

In her dazed state, the girl dreamt.

In the dream, she grasped a magical hammer.

Holding the hammer seemed to grant her boundless power, and she could summon lightning as described in myths.

Using this strength, she broke free from the base, overcoming numerous obstacles, only to find herself surrounded.

Just when she thought her end had come, a formidable figure descended from the sky and stood before her…

She opened her eyes—

"Hahahahaha, little girl, are you awake?"

The booming voice startled her.

"Not bad, you managed to kill so many at such a young age. Although not as good as me, you're not far off… By the way, what's your name... Hiccup—"

Thor took a swig from a bottle of wine and burped. Despite Earth's relative backwardness, there were still many good things, such as the Vodka.

While waiting for the girl to regain consciousness, Thor went to a nearby city and returned with a drum of vodka.

He didn't miss a single opportunity to drink, completely unaware that the girl's impression of him had turned 180 degrees.

The strong smell of alcohol nearly made the girl faint again as she woke up.

The hero I admire is someone who will one day arrive in a spectacular fashion, saving me while wearing black armor and a red cape, and summoning purple lightning. I anticipated the beginning, but not the end.

The girl moved away with a look of distaste and said cautiously, "Thank you for saving me. My name is Natalia Elianovna Romanova…"

What a terrible uncle. He wouldn't take advantage of me, would he?

Natalia... Natalia?

Natalia Romanoff? The new Black Widow?

This is Siberia, in the territory of Russia. Could it really be her?

"Ding! Congratulations to the host for triggering the Black Widow-related mission: The Home of the Hero—no technological weapons, no superpower enhancements, but when everyone gave up, only she remained loyal to the Avengers.

The Black Widow has the most tragic past and the greatest spirit.

Please choose one of the following missions to complete!"

"Mission 1: Kill Black Widow. Mission reward: Soul Gem. (In the original plot, Black Widow sacrificed herself for the Soul Gem. You can do the same now.)"

"Mission 2: Send Black Widow back to the Red Room until the graduation ceremony is completed, avoiding changes to the plot. Mission reward: The Ancient One's attention. (Maintaining the plot's integrity will attract the Ancient One's notice, leading to an invitation to Kamar-Taj.)"

"Mission 3: Bring Black Widow back and hand her over to S.H.I.E.L.D. for training. Mission reward: The Divine Power Bracelet. (A magical item from another realm, indestructible. In addition to deflecting blades, it can also block bullets. The bracelet will enhance the wearer's strength and become invisible, removable only by the host.)"

"Warning! Warning! Missions 1 and 2 are extremely dangerous. Selecting either could result in a 90% chance of a dimensional reduction attack from a higher plane, your actions till now can be considered a new timeline but choosing 1 &2 are extremely out of Thor's character and narrative, leading to suspicion .!!!"

Chapter Ten: The Showdown of the Strongest

Once again, Thor felt the deep malice from Mr. System.

Not to mention this so-called "dimensional reduction attack," Thor's personal principles would never allow him to resort to such a thing.

Moreover, even if he were to obtain the Soul Gem at this moment, it would likely be claimed by Odin.

Without sufficient strength, possessing such a gem is a grave mistake.

Even Thanos acts swiftly when preparing his plans.

As for Kamar-Taj, even without an invitation from the Ancient One, Thor, given his status, would not be turned away if he had the audacity to show up.

Having realized this, Thor suddenly pulled out his phone and snapped a few photos with a "click-click." This would likely be the last time he saw a Black Widow in her Lolita-style attire.

Considering it is now 1995, seeing Natalia confirmed for Thor that he is indeed in the 199999 universe, the cinematic universe he knows well. In this universe, Natalia was born in 1984 and is only 12 years old this year.

"Hey, uncle, is this hammer yours?" Natalia asked cautiously, eyeing the hammer in Thor's hand. Although she didn't seem hostile, she remained on guard.

"Have you heard of Norse mythology? This is the legendary Mjölnir.

Anyone who is worthy can gain Thor's power by lifting Mjölnir.

Since you have earned Mjölnir's approval, I can offer you a chance to change your destiny. I can take you out of here, to a place where your organization can't reach you, and allow you to pursue what you believe is right."

Outside the atmosphere, a fierce battle had just concluded. Ronan, who had always practiced "appearing formidable but not cowardly," looked back at his adjutant after seeing Carol Danvers destroy dozens of fighter jets and two warships.

How could such an embarrassing proposal for retreat (or escape) come from the boss…

Unfortunately, his adjutant didn't take the hint. Ronan had no choice but to give the order himself: "Return to the jump point. The weapons will be ours sooner or later." He decided to find an excuse to withdraw this clueless subordinate after they returned...

On Earth, Yong Rogg stared blankly at Carol's return. He tightened his grip on his weapon, and the two slowly approached, ready for a decisive battle.

Suddenly, Yong Rogg sheathed his weapon and changed his demeanor instantly: "I'm proud of you."

"After I found you by the lake, you've really grown a lot."

"But can you control your emotions and actually fight me? Or are you still as emotional as before?"

"I've always told you that one day you would defeat me with your own strength. And today is that day, this is the moment!"

"Vers, set aside your fancy powers and prove to me that you can…"

"Boom—" The impatient Carol punched him away.

"I don't have to prove anything to you. Besides, this is my own strength."

"Hahaha—" Thor, who had just arrived, enjoyed the scene. Yong Rogg was very skilled at oratory and emotional manipulation, but unfortunately, he was facing Captain Marvel, who had zero emotional intelligence.

After jumping off the fighter jet, Thor greeted, "Once this matter is settled, how about setting aside your superpowers and playing a game with me?"

As Carol displayed her might in space, the system task appeared once more—

"Congratulations to the host for triggering the Captain Marvel-related mission: The Confrontation of the Strongest. As one of the strongest Avengers, a confrontation with Captain Marvel is inevitable. Defeat her to prove you are the strongest!

Note: This task does not have branching options; it can only be accepted or declined."

"Mission Objective: Defeat Captain Marvel. Mission Reward: A Random Ability of Captain Marvel."

At this stage, without a Stormbreaker, Thor was looking for an opportunity to be tested, so he decided to go along with it.

Carol nodded. In reality, she was unsure about the extent of Thor's strength after his enhancement. However, from his previous performance, he seemed significantly stronger than she was. A battle between their superpowers might be advantageous experience.

Um, this might be the difference between a warrior and a mage, right?

She dragged Yong Rogg and stuffed him into the spaceship.

The two larger men watched as Yong Rogge struggled futilely and pleaded, "No, I can't just return empty-handed."

Carol remained indifferent: "Tell the Supreme Intelligence—I will put an end to all of this."

A cannon fired, igniting the engine, and the spaceship wobbled before taking off.
