The only thought running through my mind now is 'who am I?'.
As I open my eyes, my vision is dark and blurry. slowly, as I gain my vision back, I get a clear grasp of the scene around me. I'm laying against the wall in what seems to be a cave. Rocky ground and walls on all sides of me, with stalactites above my head dripping water onto my head slowly.
Although the part of this area around me seems small, there is a small opening in the corner which seems to lead to a bigger section of the cave.
But before I could process my surroundings any further, an intense, deadly pain ruthlessly began to pulsate throughout my whole body.
I let out an ear-piercing scream and a loud grunt just from the pure pain.
subconsciously, I looked down at my body.
My body seemed to be covered in wounds, head to toe, some of which were so deep that they were slowly leaking still and forming a pool of blood beneath me.
Another intense wave of pain suddenly appeared in my head, as if i had just fallen on my head really hard.
With an even louder grunt due to the pain, the same thought I had initially appeared in my mind once again, who am I?
My head seems to be empty, as if whatever memories I had beforehand were erased from my mind permanently.
Although I didn't remember anything initially, with this wave of pain a name popped into my head - Akio.
As soon as the name appeared inside my head, my soul seemed to resonate with it, and i immediately knew that my name was Akio.
But, my mind is still in ruins. although I have no memory of my life before now besides my name, I still retain basic information like language, names of objects, and basic information, as if it was permanently ingrained into my mind since I was born.
Trying to ignore the pain, I slowly pushed my tattered body against the wall and dragged myself to my feet.
taking a second look around the room, I noticed some small, glowing, transparent blue crystals imbedded into the walls of the cave, about a quarter the size of my palm. They were scattered across the walls and ceilings, and seemed to be the only source of light in the cavern.
Holding my hand against the wall for support, I slowly stumbled towards one of the crystals.
When I finally appeared in front of the crystal, I was able to see my reflection for the first time. My face was covered in small scars and was drenched in blood, which seemed to have came from the top of my head. The golden shine of my eyes and my pitch black hair perfectly molded with the blood covering my face, giving me the appearance of a demon.
Additionally, I noticed the fact that I had almost no clothes, just a practically shredded shirt that covered nothing, and pants that seemed to be ripped to shreds.
Besides the reflection of the blue crystal, when I stared at the blue crystal itself it seemed to resonate with my soul, giving me a great urge to touch the crystal.
Instinctively, I reached out and touched the blue crystal imbedded in the wall, and realized that although the crystal was imbedded into the wall, it seemed weirdly easy to pull it out of the wall.
After pausing for a moment, I decided to pull the blue crystal out of the wall. Now, in my hands, was a small blue crystal which only took up about a quarter of my palm. When in contact with the blue crystal, A weird tingling feeling pulsated throughout my body and soul and… I felt a strong sensation of hunger.
Mysteriously, i had the feeling that I was able to absorb the crystal.
But suddenly, a crazy thought appeared in my mind. If i want to absorb the crystal, wouldn't the best way to absorb it would be to eat it?
On one hand, I have no idea how to absorb it normally on its own. But on the other hand, I can have my body naturally absorb the crystal by eating it.
The only problem was… was the crystal even edible? It was a small, blue transparent crystal, so logically it doesn't make sense for it to be edible. However, the crystal gave me the feeling that i could absorb it, just like it was some type of liquid or substance.
But, thinking about it… I am hungry now that I'm in contact with it, so that must mean I can eat it, right? Plus, I'm already covered in wounds and injuries, it can't get any worse, right?
Taking a big gulp, I lifted my hand and tossed the glowing, blue crystal into my mouth. Sitting on my tongue, it seemed to… dissolve. I felt an ice cold liquid slowly appear and slide down my throat as it melted, again giving the sensation of tickling my soul.
After a few seconds, the blue crystal completely dissolved and i swallowed the last of the ice cold liquid it melted into.
In that same moment, I noticed that the excruciating pain that was pulsating all throughout my body and head, seemed to… lessen by a small margin.
Looking down, I noticed that my wounds that were bleeding profusely before slowly formed scabs and began to stop bleeding. However, it seemed like it wasn't enough, as the most severe wounds still bled, albeit less profusely.
Even more amazingly, My legs gained a tiny bit more strength, and I felt like I wouldn't stumble nearly as much when walking. In fact, i might be able to walk without leaning against the wall, although with a bit of difficulty.
However, in the same moment, the adrenaline that allowed me to get up and grab the crystal began to disperse, only making the pain more intense and excruciating.
With a loud groan, I fell down back onto the floor, and beyond the excruciating pain in my head and body, I also felt an overwhelming tiredness take over me.
But… I didn't want to fall back asleep. There were still at least 20 more crystals scattered throughout the small part of the cavern I was in now, and most likely many more deeper inside the cavern. If I just… absorb them… maybe I could… heal my wounds more…
My thoughts seemed to slow down, and w outside of my control I felt my eyes slowly close and my body relaxing. My last thought before I fell asleep was, "goodnight".
