Three young women were returning to their house when they noticed a group of people standing in front of their house.
"King!" The young woman to her right called out to the young man and ran to hug him, the two of them looked at each other in shock and once they were finished reuniting, they turned to face their audience.
"Shit." She said to herself but remained calm after she noticed a face within the group was her fiancee. She was sure that he wouldn't notice her at all due to her disguise.
"Is this your lover?" The young woman asked their friend and she laughed
"No. No. This is my older brother; King Romanov. King, this is my roommate and my two best friends. This is Shu Ling and this is Angle." the young woman said to her brother and he patted her head
"Serena, I never thought that you would've been able to make any friends." King said to his sister as he looked at the two of them.
Angle was a young woman with platinum hair and beautiful blue eyes but there was a large scar across her face and a lot of burn scars all over her face as well while Shu Ling was a beauty with light brown hair soft brown eyes and a flawless face. As King was analyzing his sister's friends, he heard the voice of his own friend's laughter.
"What is so funny, Excalibur?" King asked him and the young man walked over to Angle
"Well, well. Princess of Alpin, you ran off on our engagement day only to meet me here." Excalibur said to Angle, shocking the whole group.
"This cannot be the princess, I heard that she was a beauty. I don't mean any harm but she cannot be." the man behind them said to them and Excalibur shook his head as he walked over to her side
"Ming Xu, this is my fiancee. Of course, I know her. We did spend most of our childhood growing up together, right, your Highness?" Excalibur said to her as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and she sighed as she shrugged him off.
"It is true, I am the princess of Alpin. Princess Valencia." Valencia said to them but the group still stared at her in disbelief
"Let's go inside first." Valencia said to them as she noticed the maids waiting for them in front of the house. They all head inside and the maids handed her a drink, which she drank right away and handed it back to the maids.
Once everyone was inside they all took a seat in the guest room which the two girls took them to and soon enough Valencia walked into the room as well. She took a seat next to Shu Ling since Serena was sitting next to her brother and the other two took the other two seat sofa.
"Now, tell us." Serena said to her, Valencia sighed as she placed her hands on her face and pulled off the silicone scars on her face.
"Ta-Da!" Valencia said to them as if she was just performing a magic trick to them but they were not impressed by her hiding her identity from them.
"How could you lie to us about your identity?!" Shu Ling asked her and she sighs
"I didn't plan to and trust me I would love more than to go to school without all of this but if I do my parents will be able to find me." Valencia said to them and the two nodded
"But I am indeed the princess of Alpin, my name is Valencia Alpin. Even though my name while I was here is fake but the relationship with you both is not a lie. I just wanted to live outside of the palace for a while." Valencia said to them and the two nodded since they also left home for the same reason.
Serena was a princess from another kingdom, the Slavic Kingdom; which is well known for its strong soldiers and advances in warfare weapons. While Shu Ling came from a kingdom called Yin Yu; known as the Silverfish country. Well known as one of the richest kingdoms for its silver and gold found in their main river.
"Why did you run away from home? Or from the engagement?" Serena asked her and she chuckled as she relaxed on the sofa and looked at her betrothed
"Will you get engaged with him? He's as cold as an ice cube, as to why I left home...I've had enough with my strict parents. That's all." Valencia said to them and they nodded
"Angle." one of the maids called out to her and she nodded as she got up from the sofa
"It is time for me to retire back to my room, this house has many rooms. I hope that you both will help your guest settle down." Valencia said to her friends as she headed back to her room but right behind her was Excalibur.
Once the two of them were far enough, Valencia turned to him and faced him head-on for the first time since he had arrived.
"And what can I do for you, your highness?" Valencia asked him and he chuckle
"I was ordered to bring you back home to your parents, for us to finish our engagement." Excalibur said to her and she scoffed at him.
"There is no engagement between you and me, there won't be one." Valencia said to him and the maid who was with her urged her
"Your Highness, it is time." The maid said to her and she nodded
"It is late, if there is nothing else. You should leave." Valencia said to him and she headed into her room.
As soon as the door closed, her face turned pale and she clenched her chest as the maids rushed to her side. They brought her back to her bed; not many people knew of her condition but Valencia was born with a weak heart and the royal physician along with the royal fortune teller had said that she would not live long.
Every night, if she does not take her medication on time she will suffer great pain in her chest as if she was being stabbed. She has the maids to remind her since they work under her older cousin and he had told them about her condition. Their sole purpose was to look after her health and make sure that she took her medication on time.
"Should we send for the doctor?!" they looked at each other but Valencia shook her head as she took hold of them
"Misty, do not call the doctor. You and Clare should be used to this by now, I will be fine." Valencia said to them through labored breath but the two had no other choice but to listen to what she had said
"Then shall we call for the young master?" Clare asked her and she shook her head
"Call him tomorrow, the rest will be suspicious if anyone comes to the house now." Valencia reminded them
"Then at least take your medication and some pain relievers." Misty told her that Valencia sat up as well as she could to take her medication. Once she was done taking her medication, she lay back in bed and was able to fall asleep once the pain had died down.
The following morning Valencia woke up feeling quite weak but there was no other pain other than feeling a little sore.
"Clare?" Valencia called out but there was no answer
"Misty?" Valencia called out once more, the two of them had always been by her side since she came here, the two rarely left her side. Worried, she got up from the bed and slipped on her slippers as she headed towards the door. As she was about to open the door, the door itself opened and the person standing there was Excalibur.
".....Why are you here?" Valencia asked him
"The maids are all busy, so I was asked to come get you." Excalibur said to her and she nodded
"I'll come down in a minute." Valencia said as she closed the door, she washed her face and put on another layer of clothing since she was feeling cold.
Valencia made her way out of her room and towards the main hall, where she found her friends cooking in the kitchen.
"Good morning." Valencia greeted them
"Good morning, Angle." Shu Ling said to her and she smiled, at least she knew that she could go back to her school life without any issues.
"I've had a good night, well rested. I'll have to head to class later." Valencia said to her friends
"Why are you going to campus?" Excalibur asked from behind them but Valencia didn't answer him.
"I'll be back later so, don't wait up for me to come have lunch." Valencia said to them and grabbed a plate that had already been set.
"Thank you for the breakfast, I'll have it in my room." Valencia said to her maids and the two nodded to her
"We will be right up, Your Highness." Clare said to her and she shook her head
"No need to rush, take your time. I will finish breakfast and head out." Valencia said to the two as she continued to her room.
Once she was done eating her breakfast, she got dressed and called her cousin.
"A'Chen, are you up?" Valencia asked him
"I'm up and free, what does my little cousin want?" Li Chen asked her and she chuckled
"It's time for my check-up, will you be a gentleman and take me there?" Valencia asked him and he chuckled as well.
"Get dressed, I'm on my way." Li Chen said to her
"I'm all dressed and fed. I'll wait for you in front of the house." Valencia said to him and hung up, she put on her sweater and headed out of her room. Midway to the front door she was confronted by Excalibur
"Where are you going?" Excalibur asked her from behind as she was about to reach the doorway.
"Let the others know that I am heading out to the campus." Valencia said to him as she picked up her shoe to put on.
"I hear that the campus is quite far from here, should I give you a ride?" Excalibur asked her but she said nothing to him, Valencia walked out of the door.
"Hey!" Excalibur shouted as he ran after her but Valencia was already getting in the car of another man.
