Beatrice had been furious with me and had refused to speak to me for about an hour since Henry left.
"You're going to get yourself and these children killed with this stupid revenge. You better stop while you still can," she had said before giving me the silent treatment.
Thirty minutes later, there was a knock on the door. I went to see who it was, and as expected, it was Henry Dragon.
"Come in," I said. I offered him a chair and sat down opposite him.
He said he had come to take us to where we belong. The nerve of this man.
I didn't have time for small talk or to stroke his ego. I wanted to get straight to the point.
I told him I would only agree to bring the kids to the mansion if he stopped seeing Monica and broke up with her immediately.
He was taken aback when he heard my demand.
Did he think I was a fool? Did he expect to continue his affair with Monica while claiming to be married to me?
"If you don't like it, you're free to walk out that door," I told him.
"Okay, done. No more fooling around with Monica," he said, smiling. "Anything else?" he asked, but I didn't respond. He continued, "Well, if that's all, can I see my kids now?" He raised an eyebrow.
I stood up and went inside to get the kids. I told them that someone wanted to see them.
They got up immediately and headed straight to the living room. When they saw Henry, their faces twisted into a slight frown. Even when Henry greeted them, they refused to respond.
Henry introduced himself as Henry Dragon, but the minute he tried to tell them that he was their father, King interrupted him mid-sentence.
"We already know who you are. But my siblings and I disowned you long ago." I was shocked when I heard King say that to Henry.
I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me whole. Who taught this child to speak like this?
I cautioned him, telling him never to speak to his father that way again.
"He deserves it, Mama. He didn't even apologize for everything he did to you. He could have been a better husband, but he wasn't," King cried out.
I was confused. I had never told him I was once married, let alone to Henry Dragon, nor had I told him how badly Henry had treated me. How on Earth did he find out?
"Did your mother tell you to say all that?" Henry asked him.
"My mother never said anything to me. In fact, she never tells me anything. I was there with her all those years you abandoned her. And now you want her back, and you dare to call yourself our father? What a joke," he chuckled. "I bet you still think I'm a kid," he added, shaking his head in disappointment at his father.
I was tired. Very tired. " Of course, King, you're still a child." I wanted to say this to him but held back.
He was definitely his father's son.
"Of course you're still a kid, son, and you're coming with me whether you like it or not," Henry said sternly.
"We're not going anywhere. Mom, please say you're on our side," King insisted. "Tell him to go back to that Monica or something," King cried.
I quickly stood up and rushed towards them, covering King's mouth. My gosh, how did these kids know so much?
I took them all inside and tried to calm them down. Emotions were high. I told them that not everything they heard about the Dragons was true and urged them not to hate their father too much.
"Give him a chance, would you? Please, do it for Mama," I pleaded, kissing them and telling them to prepare to leave with Henry right away.
When I returned to the living room, I found Beatrice there as well, discussing football with Henry. But the moment she saw me, she frowned and stopped talking.
She was still mad at me. We waited for the kids to come out, which felt like forever. I knew they didn't want to leave, but they had no choice since I begged them to.
Beatrice gave them a goodbye kiss and told them how much she would miss them.
I tried to talk to her, but she snubbed me and went into her room. I told Henry to take the lead, and we all started heading out.
He opened the car door for me and did the same for the kids. He started driving out of Beatrice's compound as soon as he got into his car.
I wondered why he didn't bring his driver. Could it be because he didn't trust him to keep this matter a secret?
We finally arrived at the mansion safely, though Henry's driving left much to be desired. We were lucky to have reached the mansion in one piece.
I was back at the place I once called home, where it all began, the very place of my torment. I can never forget everything that happened in this mansion—the lies, betrayals, conspiracies, and the son stolen from me. I will never forgive them. I have sworn to make them pay.
We followed Henry into the grand hallway and then into the sitting room, where the first person we saw was Henry's mother, Mrs. Dragon.
She couldn't believe her eyes, her mouth wide open in shock.
"You haven't seen anything yet, Mrs. Dragon. Why do you look so surprised when I'm only getting started?" I muttered.
After regaining her composure, she stood up and came to greet me.
"Andrea." She kissed both of my cheeks. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming over?" she asked playfully.
But I knew deep down she was dying inside.
"I didn't want to come here; it was your son Henry who insisted I return to the mansion," I replied, shooting her a glance.
For some reason, the kids didn't enter the sitting room with Henry and me, but when they finally walked in, I introduced them to Mrs. Dragon.
"Meet my kids." She quickly turned to look at them, and the moment she saw them, she screamed and collapsed to the ground.
She fainted right before our eyes.
Henry panicked, running around like a scared little cockroach. He quickly called the family doctor to come to the mansion immediately.
While he was terrified of losing his mother, the kids and I were already seated on the couch, legs crossed, watching the whole show unfold.
I haven't even started, and some of them are already passing out. I think I'm going to have so much fun playing with these fools in this mansion. I'm already loving it here.
I want the Dragons' blood to flow. They will beg me for mercy, but I will show none, just as they made me beg for mercy. They will surely get what's coming to them, and by the time I'm done, they will beg to return my son to me. I promise.
