Chapter 14 - WAIT FOR YOU2

As Stella led the group through the winding paths and dense forests, her senses remained alert, her sword at the ready. Hours passed, and the sun began to dip in the sky, casting a warm orange glow over the landscape. Suddenly, Stella's eyes locked onto a figure in the distance. Her heart skipped a beat as she recognized the familiar silhouette - Clever, waiting for her just as he had promised.

A mix of emotions swirled within her: relief, joy, and a hint of exhaustion. Stella's companions noticed her gaze and followed it to Clever, their faces filled with curiosity. As they drew closer, Clever's eyes met Stella's, and he smiled, his expression warm and welcoming.

"You made it," he said, his voice filled with pride and admiration. "I knew you would. You're a true leader, Stella."

Stella's cheeks flushed with a hint of pink, her eyes shining with happiness. "We made it together," she corrected, gesturing to the group behind her. "We're safe now,

Clever's gaze swept over the group, his expression softening. "You're all safe now.

As Clever greeted the group, his eyes scanned the faces, recognizing some from the city. He exchanged warm smiles and reassuring words with them, "We'll protect you, don't worry. You're safe now."

Then, he pulled Stella aside, his voice taking on a more serious tone. "Do any of them know your true identity?" he asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.

Stella shook her head, relief etched on her face. "No, thank goodness. If any of them knew, we would have to...take care of them. Remember, we still need to lay low."

Clever nodded in agreement. "Exactly. Let's keep it that way. Now, let's take these people to my father. He'll make sure they're protected and safe."

Stella nodded, and together they began to herd the group to safety . As they walked, Stella's mind raced with thoughts of her father's legacy, the sword's power, and the secrets she kept hidden. She knew that for now, it was essential to keep her true identity concealed, even from those they had just saved. The weight of her responsibilities settled heavy on her shoulders, but with Clever by her side, she felt a sense of determination and hope.

As they neared their destination after days of journeying, Stella cautioned the group to remain calm and vigilant. She positioned herself at the forefront, her eyes scanning the horizon for any signs of danger. Clever took up the rear, his watchful gaze protecting the group from any potential threats.

"Stay close and stay quiet," Stella instructed, her voice low and steady. "We're almost there. Let's get through this together."

The group nodded, their faces set with determination. They had come too far to turn back now. As they rode, the tension was palpable, but Stella's leadership and Clever's protection gave them the courage to press on.

With Stella leading the way and Clever guarding the rear, they formed a united front, ready to face whatever lay ahead. The landscape unfolded before them, and the group steeled themselves for the final leg of their journey.

As they approached the destination, a contingent of guards charged towards them, their weapons at the ready. But before tensions could escalate, Clever swiftly intervened, positioning himself at the forefront.

"We come in peace!" he declared, his hands raised in a calming gesture. "I am Clever, and I mean no harm."

The lead guard narrowed his eyes. "What are you doing with these people?" he growled, his gaze flicking towards Stella and the group.

But before Clever could respond, Stella stepped forward, her voice ringing out with authority. "These people are with me, and they are my guests. You will treat them with respect and kindness."

The guards hesitated, clearly taken aback by Stella's commanding presence. The lead guard looked uncertain, then nodded curtly. "Very well. But you must come with us to see the commander."

Clever nodded, and Stella followed, her eyes fixed on the guards. "I will not let anything happen to these people," she warned. "They are under my protection."

With that, the group was escorted towards the clevers father , Stella's leadership and Clever's familiarity with the guards easing the tension. But as they approached clevers father,

As they approached, Clever's father spotted them from a distance and bowed his head in respect towards Stella. "Welcome back, Stella. When did you arrive?" he asked, his eyes scanning the group.

Clever replied, "We just got here, Father. We brought some people with us, but the soldiers won't let them in. We need you to order them to stand down."

Clever's father raised an eyebrow, curiosity etched on his face. "What people?" he asked, his gaze shifting to Stella.

Stella stepped forward, her expression serious. "I was on my way back when I saw them being attacked. I rescued them, and they told me they fled the city because of my uncle's tyranny."

Clever's father's expression turned grave, understanding the implications. "I see," he said, his voice firm. "I'll take care of it. No one will harm them here. They're under our protection now."

With a nod, he turned to one of his men. "Go, tell the soldiers to stand down. These people are welcome here."

As the people entered, they approached Stella, their faces filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Stella," they said in unison. "You've done so much for us. We owe you our lives. Thank you."

Stella smiled humbly, her eyes shining with warmth. "It's nothing," she replied. "I wish I could do more."

Then, she turned to Clever's father. could you train them? Since they'll be staying here for the meantime, you could assign a good teacher for them. They'll need to learn how to defend themselves and adapt to our ways."

Clever's father nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Of course, Stella. I'll assign our best teachers to train them. We'll help them settle in and become a part of our community."

He turned to the group. "You're welcome here. We'll protect you and help you rebuild your lives. You're safe now."

The group nodded, their faces filled with hope and relief. Stella smiled, knowing she had made a difference. She glanced at Clever, who was watching her with pride and admiration.

I'll head to my quarters now," Stella said, her voice slightly weary. "Someone please inform my father I'm back. I need to rest."

She smiled at Clever. "See you later, Clever. Thank you for your help today."

With that, Stella turned and made her way to her quarters, her footsteps quiet on the floor. Clever watched her go, his eyes filled with concern and admiration. He knew she had pushed herself hard to rescue the people and bring them to safety.

"I'll make sure to inform your father, Stella," Clever called out, his voice soft. "Rest well. You've earned it."

As Stella disappeared into her quarters, Clever turned to the others. "Let's get our guests settled in. We have a lot of work to do tomorrow."

With a nod, the group began to disperse, each one lost in their own thoughts. Stella's bravery and selflessness had touched their hearts, and they knew they would never forget this day.
