I gently patted her head, offering a reassuring smile. "Sis, don't worry. Your brother is the strongest person in the world. He can handle anything that comes his way."
I recounted the tale of how I risked my own life to save a girl in a desperate moment on a street corner. Asuka-sis's eyes sparkled with curiosity as she asked, "Who was this lucky girl?" I hesitated, my mind foggy with the memory.
"I...I couldn't see her face," I admitted. Just then, Yuri broke her long silence, her voice laced with a hint of mischief. "How could you forget me, Mr. Benefactor?" she said, her eyes glinting with a knowing light."
With a sudden glory in Asuka's eyes she asked, " what happened Yuri, to whom you are referring as your benefactor."
A sudden blush in her eyes, " yes, I am referring to your brother as my benefactor, saviour. I am so greatfull that he saved my life in the corner of that street."
What!!! Did I literally just save her? I shouldn't have done that. She's the one who's been trying to kill me in my past life!
But those piercing green eyes, they seemed to hold a glimmer of gratitude. No, no, no, I must be imagining things. I need to get out of here before she regains her strength.
But my feet feel rooted to the spot. Why did I save her? And why can't I seem to leave her side?
Asuka held on to Kiyoshi tightly, her tears soaking into his shirt. Kiyoshi's eyes welled up with tears, his face radiant with a warm, gentle glow. He stroked Asuka's hair, his voice filled with emotion.
"Don't cry, my lovely sister. I'll never leave you. I promise. We're in this together, always."
Asuka's sobs slowly subsided, replaced by sniffles. She pulled back, looking up at Kiyoshi with red, puffy eyes. Kiyoshi smiled, his eyes shining with tears.
"You're really not going to leave me?" Asuka asked, her voice trembling.
Kiyoshi's smile widened. "Never, Asuka. You're my sister, my friend...my everything. We're a team."
Asuka's face broke into a radiant smile, and she hugged Kiyoshi again, this time with joy. Kiyoshi laughed, hugging her back, feeling a sense of peace and belonging he'd never felt before.
Kiyoshi's face turned bright red as he hesitated, unsure of how to respond. Asuka's eyes sparkled with amusement, clearly enjoying his discomfort.
"Uh, well...I may have, uh, left the hospital in a hurry," Kiyoshi stammered, trying to downplay the situation.
Asuka raised an eyebrow. "In a hurry? Without telling anyone? After being injured?"
Kiyoshi nodded sheepishly. "Yeah, that's pretty much it."
Hikari's voice came through the phone again, still loud and scolding. "Kiyoshi, how could you be so reckless?! You know you're not fully recovered yet!"
Asuka chuckled, a playful glint in her eye. "I think this beautiful lady has a point, Kiyoshi. You're not exactly in top shape right now."
Kiyoshi rubbed the back of his neck, feeling embarrassed. "I know, I know...it was a stupid move. But I had to get out of there
Akari's voice shattered the air, "Who is she?! Hump!!"
Yuri's face turned beet red, her eyes brimming with tears. "Saviour, don't cheat please, my love is bigger than Mount Everest!"
Kiyoshi held up his hands, trying to placate them. "Wait!! She's my biological sister, Hikari. We recently reunited in the hospital. I'll ask her to come over."
Just then, the doorbell rang, shattering the tense atmosphere like a lightning bolt. Asuka rushed to the door, her heart racing like a wild animal. She flung it open, revealing Hikari's determined expression.
Hikari's eyes narrowed, her voice cold as ice. "You."
Asuka's eyes flashed with determination. "You."
She was indeed after my brother to take him from me. I will fight with you then.
Hmm, you again!! Are you gonna fight me, you are gonna lose in front of me,Hhahah.
"Hey, do you know each other?" Kiyoshi asked, his eyes shining with excitement.
Hikari's gaze narrowed, her voice laced with a hint of jealousy. "No, who is she, lil-bro?"
Kiyoshi's smile faltered for a moment before he began to introduce Asuka. "She is—"
But Asuka cut him off, her voice confident and assertive. "I'm his elder sister, Asuka. And I've come to take my rightful place in Kiyoshi's life."
Hikari's eyes flashed with anger, her face pale. "You're...you're his sister?" she stammered, her voice trembling with emotion.
Asuka's smile grew wider, her eyes sparkling with triumph. "Yes, I am. And I won't let anyone come between us, especially not you, Hikari
As the fight reached its climax, Asuka and Hikari suddenly stopped, their chests heaving with exhaustion. They glared at each other, their eyes still flashing with anger.
But then, something unexpected happened.
Asuka's gaze softened, and she took a step forward. "Hikari, stop. This is pointless."
Hikari's expression faltered, and she nodded slowly. "You're right. We're both fighting for the same thing."
Asuka held out her hand, and Hikari took it. Together, they turned to Kiyoshi.
"Let's pour all our love into him," Asuka said, her voice filled with determination.
Hikari nodded, and together, they joined their hands, forming a circle of love around Kiyoshi.
Kiyoshi's eyes widened in amazement as he felt the love and energy emanating from his two sisters. He smiled, feeling grateful and blessed to have such wonderful siblings.
Kenji's face lit up with excitement as he held the bank card, his eyes wide with disbelief. "Five million dollars? Are you serious, Kiyoshi?"
Fumiko's eyes sparkled with gratitude. "Thank you, Kiyoshi. This will change our lives."
As they walked home, Kenji's gaze lingered on Fumiko, his heart pounding with emotion. He took a deep breath and stopped her.
"Fumiko, I have something to tell you," Kenji said, his voice trembling.
Fumiko's eyes met his curiosity. "What is it, Kenji?"
Kenji's face flushed. "I...I like you, Fumiko. A lot."
Fumiko's cheeks turned pink, her eyes dropping shyly. "Kenji, please wait till we're eighteen. We're still kids...doing part-time jobs to pay the rent, without parents."
Kenji's face fell, but he nodded understandingly. "I won't misunderstand, Fumiko. I promise."
Fumiko's smile reassured him. "I care about you too, Kenji. Just...let's focus on our future for now."
Kenji grinned, relief washing over him. "I'll wait, Fumiko. For as long as it takes."
As they continued walking, hand in hand, their hearts beat with hope and promise.
