Samantha, Marcus, and Kai managed to make it out of the Wraithwood Haven without incident, though Samantha noticed several of the supernatural guests giving them odd looks. Whether it was due to Kai's occasional furry outbursts or the new, predatory aura surrounding Marcus, she couldn't be sure.
Once they were in the car, with Kai at the wheel (as he seemed to have the best control over his condition at the moment), Samantha felt a momentary sense of relief. They had a plan, a destination. Maybe once they reached the cabin, they could start figuring this out.
