Chapter 55 - Chapter 55: Kai and Drytan's duel

The massive battle that rocked the Brethening Academy finally subsided, but Kai Kurenai's heart was still not calm. He knew that the threat from Drytan, the leader of the Black Shadow, had not completely passed. Kai stood in the ruined academy grounds, feeling the tension still hanging in the air.

Suddenly, the sound of heavy footsteps approached. Drytan emerged from the shadows, his eyes filled with burning hatred. "Kai Kurenai," he said in a cold voice. "Today, we will settle this once and for all."

Kai looked at Drytan sharply. "I'm ready, Drytan. We'll end all this here."

Their fight began with tremendous force. Kai uses all of Kuraeza's power, while Drytan utilizes his dark magic. Each attack shook the ground around them, creating shockwaves that could be felt throughout the academy.

Drytan launches a brutal attack, trying to break Kai's defenses. "You kidnapped Taro first, I saw you kidnap him, you took Taro away! I won't forgive you!" shouted Drytan angrily.

Kai was shocked to hear the accusation. "Taro? What do you mean, Drytan? I never kidnapped anyone. I just helped an injured child!"

Drytan stopped for a moment, his gaze turning confused. "What? You helped him?"

Kai nodded, still alert. "Yes, I found a child who was seriously injured. I just wanted to help him. I didn't know who he was, or that he was related to you."

Drytan was silent for a moment, his mind spinning. He thought back to the day Taro went missing. His whole life changed from then on, full of hatred and revenge towards Kai, who he considered the perpetrator.

"I… I misunderstood," Drytan finally said, his voice starting to soften. "All this time I thought you were the one who kidnapped him. My hatred for you grew because of that."

Kai lowered his gun slightly. "Drytan, I never meant to hurt Taro. I just wanted to help."

Drytan fell silent, confusion and regret showing on his face. However, the hatred and anger that had been embedded in him for so long did not easily disappear.
