Chereads / "You are the Protagonist" / Chapter 51 - 51. Meier

Chapter 51 - 51. Meier

Meier felt what you could call annoyance, just a lighter form of it.

His sister was changing.

She was happy, and that was not because of himself.

He was not amused seeing her return home with puffy eyes and a slap mark on her cheek.

Meier was even less amused finding pictures under her bed showing the same boy.

He lay on his mother's bed, waiting for her to find him. She searched for him once an hour if he was not already in her sight.

The door opened, and she came in.

"What is my Baby unhappy about?" She lay beside him and pulled him in her arms, combing through his long white hair.

"Nothing." The times he had told his mother about him being annoyed with Natasha, she had directly slapped her, so after understanding the in and out a bit better, he had never told her again.

"Is it the girl again?" His mother intuitively knew.

He suppressed the usual flinching when she caught him doing something against her and said,

"No."

She buried her head in his neck and took a deep breath.

"Baby, you wanted something to play with, so we got her. If she upsets you, we get rid of her. That is an easy matter for your parents."

"No, I want to play more with her!" He shouted.

"I know, Baby, I know, don't be angry. Mommy is sorry. You know who loves you the most?"

"Mommy." He smiled.

"And who gets you everything you want?"

"Mommy!" He yelled.

"That's right, my Baby."

After more cuddling, he went to his room and checked his phone.

He got a message.

The filth who slapped his sister would go out tonight; that was his chance. He waited two months, but that pest did not leave her house.

He opened the drawer of his black mahogany desk and took a thick file out of it. Opening it, an overweight face looked at him. Then, there were pictures of a skinny figure in a school uniform beside a boy. The two figures were too far away to see their features, but his subordinate assured him that this was the same girl.

Meier smiled coldly, today he would go out and play.

Opening his door, he saw his mother bringing him cookies and milk.

"Mommy, I'm going out today."

His mother looked at him disapprovingly until he said, "I have found a mouse."

His mother immediately felt relieved and patted his head.

"You know who to take with you?"

He nodded.

"Number one, two, and thirteen."

"Yes, my Baby, that's them. Just tell them what to do."

"Mommy, I played before." The corner of his lips pulled down.

"I'm sorry, you are right. Have fun, my Baby."

First, he changed his clothes into something black and then went to get his subordinates. After that, he chose a luxurious black car with a big trunk. The cookies and milk were already packed to go, being held by the butler.

"She packed them herself?" He asked, already knowing the answer.

"Your mother does everything herself for Baby."

His mother walked in, and the subordinates lowered their heads, not looking at her.

"Because...." her long dark red gown slid on the floor with each step she took, holding her head high and only bending in front of her son.

She put a hat on his head and tenderly touched his cheek.

"Who loves you the most?"

Meier's Mom had him only when she was already much older than the average woman, so he didn't find her too much and somewhat understood her. He even kind of liked her. She was like another subordinate who was a bit clingier.

The best and worst part was that she was like him. If he played the snapping game with her, she would whine about why they could not take living animals. Seeing her real disappointment, he found her funny.

The bad side of her being like him was that she mostly knew what he was thinking, which he did not like.

And if he did something like running away- what he did when he met his sister, she would flip out completely.

She had been the nicest subordinate in the world while he recovered from that dog; he had not expected outside dogs to fight back, unlike the dogs at home that had their teeth removed.

But when she was fully healed back at home, she took her time to discipline him herself while crying that she just wanted to have her Baby safe.

Meier was already very dulled to outside stimuli, so it was not easy to discipline him, and she could never hurt her Baby.

So, he was locked in a dark, upholstered room with his eyes covered and earphones on his head. His hands were tied up with a particular material that did not hurt him.

Then, the sound of water dropping played on repeat.

First, he just slept and didn't mind that much.

The sound was evenly, every 2 seconds a water drop could be heard.

But sometimes, maybe after an hour or three hours, two of these damn drops were left out.

After two days, he felt his heartbeat in the same rhythm as the drops fell, or maybe he had imagined it.

And when this kind of interruption came, he felt his heart stop- Meier had no idea if he was going mad, but at this time, he firstly felt 'fear' in his life, the one he didn't even feel when the dog had ripped him apart.

Since then, he had feared his mother a bit.

After finally breaking away from her sitting in the backseat of the driving car, his face fell, and he looked chillingly at Thirteen,

"Where to?"

Thirteen had a laptop on his lap, typing in a few codes.

"A club she went to with her 'friends.' All older kids are not as rich as her, exploiting her." He scoffed.

"What a loser." Meier commented and held his chin, while looking outside with bored eyes, looking like an adult.

"We can just go directly in and shoo the other kids away. Cameras will be taken care of."

"Let's do that," Meier said without averting his eyes from the trees they had left behind speedily.
