Chapter 6 - 6. Acting

Out of nowhere, she pulled a second sheet out and gave it to him.

||Scene 1. School bully's entrance:

On the first day of high school, Natasha managed to anger the school bully, who pushed her down the stairs. Lance happened to pass by and caught her, saving her life and becoming the white moonlight of the female lead and the school bully through his heroic actions. Later, they became desk mates.||

Lance grinned at this bullshit.

"Can you do that? We have to time it perfectly so as not to let me kill her." She asked blankly.

"Yes, we meet in front of the school, and I walk behind you, not letting you commit murder on the first day." He put the sheet down, then looked up.

"So, why not boycott this plot if you are struggling to survive?"

"Mhmm, good point." She looked as if she had anticipated this question.

"Because according to the system, if I ignore important plot points—even without me doing anything, the world would come up with countermeasures, and it would happen somehow anyway."

So why would all the rape and drugs not happen either way? She had internalized the rules from the system, and because the romance was the most important plot point, she had the mission to help the male lead and female lead not let the book become too sadistic. Though, what she was doing now was obviously not what the system had in mind. It should be from the shadows, not going up to the male lead on the first day after arriving and spilling the beans.

In the book, the male lead was pickpocketing near a high-end club when he got caught by a few mighty guys, got drugged and raped, then got the admission to the school as a form of compensation or as a reward—she didn't know the details but besides him getting addicted to drugs, he went to this school to find the rest of these guys and kill them. One of them was already murdered by him on the same night when they were alone. But the female lead saved him, while at the same time blackening him, blablabla.

Since he had enough money from her, she hadn't had to trouble herself about the pickpocketing part. So the first thing she did after arriving in this body was cut herself unintentionally and freak out mildly with a straight face because of not seeing any blood, then let someone forge his documents and find him. She had money, so everything was ready after a few hours.

Her character had the money and a really reliable bodyguard who was there when needed, being a half-butler and silent when not needed. Her parents were not interested in her, leaving her to their old principal friend and the bodyguard/butler guy. It was as convenient as it could be in her situation.

Tomorrow was their first act, so she was nervous. As a shut-in, she had no problems with meeting people—like one might have thought. She was just mildly unemotional, having poured out the little feelings she had for nearly twenty years only for paper characters, otherwise being relatively stoic.

She didn't like contact with real people, so she just didn't do it. Now she had no choice. What she maybe should have mentioned was that she could absolutely not, under no circumstances - 'act'.

She really couldn't, no matter when she tried; if she was in front of people, she would freeze her face in a cold mask and read the lines like a robot. So she was the absolute worst candidate to have isekaied that you could find.

Now not only did she play a teenager, which certainly she had outgrown this long ago, having romantic feelings for a boy half as old as herself not only with zero experience besides smut reads (of grown-up people!), while at the same time making herself a bit criminal with "falling in love with an underage boy even if he would never respond" and bullying a little girl and pushing her down the stairs in an attempted murder, making herself a real criminal.

And all this in the chubby body of a little midget. She sighed deeply,

"I'm too old for this crap."
