Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Yae Miko

"Ei, it's been so long since we last met, and now that I see you, you look so upset. Your divine aura is enough to scare anyone. Who's bold enough to make you this angry?"

Yae Miko's attention returned to Raiden Ei. As a familiar of Narukami, she knew it was Ei's consciousness in control.

As a familiar, she could clearly sense Ei's divine aura, as calm as a volcano before it erupts.

What's going on? Did she just come out of the Plane of Euthymia and immediately get this angry?

"Your Excellency." Ayato Kamisato respectfully bowed, his heart shocked by Yae Miko's words.

The Shogun is angry?

Thinking about the thunderclouds in the sky before they arrived, it must have been due to the Shogun's anger.

Why is the Shogun so angry?

Reflecting on Inazuma's current dire situation, he had a bit of a guess.

"Miko, why didn't you tell me how bad things have gotten in Inazuma?" Raiden Ei threw the reports to the ground with a grim expression. Realizing that all the reports the Shogun had seen in the past five hundred years were false made her furious.

Rumble—

As a born deity, her emotions could influence the sky's rumblings, and the entire Narukami Island echoed with thunder.

Yae Miko immediately understood that Ei had learned about Inazuma's terrible state, which is why she summoned her.

While she felt delighted, she was also filled with resentment.

"So you urgently called me here just to scold me."

Tears forcibly welled up in her eyes, her voice full of grievance.

"You finally came out of the Plane of Euthymia to look at this country. For five hundred years, you ignored me. Whenever I wanted to tell you about Inazuma's situation, you would rather believe those officials than me."

With that, Yae Miko, whether truly or falsely aggrieved, covered her face and started to sob.

"What else could I do? I could only lead the shrine maidens of the Grand Narukami Shrine to do our best."

"And then you summon me excitedly just to scold me. Boohoohoo."

Indra watched the sobbing Yae Miko, feeling as if he was enjoying a refreshing snack, satisfied and amused.

Seeing Yae Miko like this made the trip worthwhile.

Using spatial powers, he captured this moment from Fontaine with a recording device to enjoy later.

Ayato Kamisato, outwardly expressionless, was inwardly shocked. Was this really the mischievous Yae Miko who enjoyed playing tricks on others?

But what shocked him more was seeing the content of the reports the Shogun had thrown to the ground.

The reports stated that Inazuma was prosperous and peaceful, with citizens living happily...

Although he knew that the Tenryou Commission and the Kanjou Commission had falsified the reports sent to the Tenshukaku, he hadn't expected they would be so bold as to completely fabricate them.

The Kamisato family's Yashiro Commission managed Inazuma's culture, rituals, and celebrations.

So even if he wanted to inform the Shogun of Inazuma's current state, he couldn't without overstepping his authority.

Moreover, he didn't know if the reports he sent to the Tenshukaku had ever reached the Shogun.

As a young man firmly in control of the Yashiro Commission, he immediately grasped the situation.

The Shogun had summoned him and the Chief Priestess, clearly intending to rectify Inazuma!

His heartbeat quickened.

He realized that those who had deceived the Shogun were about to face retribution.

The Shogun intended for the Kamisato family to assist in executing this plan.

If those powerful figures were purged, the Kamisato family would become the most powerful family in Inazuma.

Raiden Ei saw Yae Miko crying and felt remorseful.

"Sorry, Miko. I thought you were just joking as usual. I never imagined that Kujou Takayuki and the others would dare to present false information to the Tenshukaku."

The more Raiden Ei thought about it, the angrier she became. Those damn scoundrels. Seeing Raiden Ei's apologetic expression, Yae Miko took advantage of the situation, letting tears flow, appearing as aggrieved as possible.

"Ei, you don't know how much trouble they've caused me. Not just me, if it weren't for me protecting the Kamisato siblings, they would have been pushed to extinction."

"If you don't come out of the Plane of Euthymia, I don't know whether you or they are the true rulers of Inazuma."

The more pitiful she made herself appear now, the easier it would be to gain favors from Ei later.

She also took the opportunity to support her good friends, the Kamisato family.

Ayato Kamisato was filled with gratitude towards Yae Miko.

The Chief Priestess was trying to get the Shogun to rely on the Kamisato family.

Yae Miko wiped her tears and gritted her teeth, saying, "Over the years, my shrine maidens and the Kamisato family have collected a lot of evidence of their collusion with the Fatui, oppressing the people, forcing good people into prostitution, and human trafficking."

"We've been waiting for a chance to present it to you."

Raiden Ei coldly, with killing intent, said, "We don't need evidence now. Inazuma has become so chaotic that even Celestia almost punished us. For that alone, they should commit seppuku immediately."

Inazuma belonged to her sister, and these people nearly destroyed it.

She knew that if the new ruler of Celestia hadn't intervened, the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles would have ruthlessly punished Inazuma.

"Hiss—"

Yae Miko took a deep breath, her tail tip turning cold.

It was severe enough to alert Celestia!

So, Ei's previous rush to Celestia was due to an order from them.

Ayato Kamisato also took a deep breath.

He knew that Celestia was a higher power than the Shogun.

But for Inazuma's affairs to reach that level of severity was too serious.

However, that level was too distant for him, but he understood the gravity of the situation.

This concerned Inazuma's survival; those oppressive nobles were doomed.

He was also pleased. Those nobles had tried to suppress and devour the Kamisato family when he and his sister were young.

If not for the Chief Priestess, he and his sister wouldn't be alive today.

Raiden Ei icily said, "Now, Miko, the Kamisato family will lead the Shuumatsuban and the Hatamoto to arrest Kujou Takayuki, Hiiragi Shinsuke, and all those involved in Inazuma's chaos."

"Wait… just arresting the ringleaders is too lenient."

Indra, after Raiden Ei finished speaking, put away the recording device and said.

"By the way, Ei, who is this unfamiliar little brother? Such courage is quite intriguing. And did this little brother just secretly record something with a device?"

Yae Miko's eyes held a teasing look as she glanced at the young man. She had been wanting to ask this, especially when he recorded her sobbing.

If it weren't for Ei being present, she would have rushed over to pinch his ear and teach him a lesson.

Regardless of who he was, daring to record her crying put him on her list of "people to prank."

She would find an opportunity to show him the generosity of the only familiar of Narukami, the Chief Priestess of the Grand Narukami Shrine, and the editor-in-chief of Yae Publishing House.

"He… he is…" Ei suddenly tensed up. Miko called the Arbiter a little brother! That was a major crime.

Indra waved his hand, interrupting Ei before she could speak, playfully looking at Yae Miko who was scheming.

"My name is Indra, I am from Celestia."

Yae Miko's scheming eyes froze, her mischievous thoughts washed away by a bucket of ice water.

Her expression stiffened.

Celestia!
