He rushed over to him, furious. He had a pacy stroll, then stood ahead of the dummy that Duncan was about to strike.
The human was terrified upon seeing the vampire stand ahead of him, and he almost tripped and fell as he backed away.
"What do you want?" He asked hastily, with his eyes widened from pure fear.
"You sold us out, didn't you? You tried to get us killed!" Zeke shouted in a whisper, to make sure that other people wouldn't hear them.
"No, no I didn't!"
"Don't lie!" Zeke shouted, getting the attention of some of the others that were next to them.
Duncan didn't say another word, and his silence was all that they needed to hear to get the message.
"He said that you two were trying to get close to me to kill me! You people like getting closer to your victims before slaughtering
them!" Duncan whispered.
Zeke's eye twitched upon hearing this utter nonsense. He had been totally manipulated.
"That doesn't make any sense, we are your friends, Duncan! We have beastly instincts, yes, but we are truly you friend, I would never want to hurt you!" Zeke insisted.
Duncan fell into silence again and started to put the pieces together. It was starting to make a lot more sense to him, and he knew when he could trust his friends, and Zeke didn't sound like he was trying to
lie to him at all.
Maybe, they were his friends after all.
"I-I'm so sorry you two... I didn't know that was happening he said I was going to die, I just wanted to save myself." Duncan said back.
"I understand, but now you've got us in a really bad pickle! You see here, your brother put a poison into Abel and now he has only hours to live. I have no idea if there's even an antidote to it!" Zeke revealed.
Duncan looked totally shocked and panicked upon hearing this, struggling to believe what he had just heard. His own brother had tricked him into killing his very friends that weren't even a danger to him.
He had been totally betrayed!
"I'm so sorry, Abel, I don't even know how to, I don't..." Duncan said, as tears started to well up in his eyes.
Abel wanted to console his friend, but on the other hand, he was furious.
How was he going to grow, how was he going to get stronger if he died now? He wouldn't be able to achieve what he could've if it was all
over.
He started to feel annoyed, cursing himself for staying to fight the hunter when he could've just left.
'Damn it! I could've just run but felt the need to fight the guy because he got me angry! Curse this damn anger!' Abel shouted in his
mind, dropping to a knee in weakness.
The poison was really starting to take effect, and his unstable mind was making the effects even more pronounced.
Zeke lifted him onto his feet so that they wouldn't gain any attention, then just stayed by his side as they returned to the dummy they were training on.
"You have to calm down, man! If we need to get you blood then we can, I think it'll help you heal." Zeke suggested.
"I can't have blood." Abel quickly reacted, suddenly startling Zeke.
"What do you mean you can't have blood, you're a... you're a vampire." Zeke said, going closer to Abel to whisper.
"This morning, I tried to have your blood and just threw it up. I think I threw up my own blood too."
Zeke lifted his hands onto his head and looked visibly stressed. His eyes raced from side to side as he started to breathe more
intensely.
"This sounds really bad, really, really bad." Zeke commented, brushing his sleek, black hair.
After their martial arts session was complete, they were given their lunchtime break. As soon as Abel left from the dojo, he felt uneasy
from the sudden sunlight beaming in his eyes. He felt warm, and weak.
His body was starting to feel odd, as if he was losing sensation in it.
There were a few rocky steps to get down from the dojo to head back to the main academy. Trying to traverse down them, though, Abel missed a step and was sent rolling, harshly crashing into the ground.
"Missed a step, Abel?" A blonde-haired noble asked him from the side.
This was Elric Reinhard. He had blonde curtains and a slim, lean physique, standing at 6'2. The students walking around him chuckled and almost gravitated toward him.
He was almost like a sheepdog guiding his flock.
Zeke didn't pay him much mind; he was used to hearing such comments. It was much easier for him to take ridicule since the life that he lived wasn't actually true to himself.
Zeke rushed to Abel's aid, but the boy raised up and seemed more healthy than expected.
"Are you okay, do you not want to at least rest or something?"
"No." Abel replied boldly, still looking at Elric walking away from him.
He continuously stared at his figure that receded away into the distant trees ahead, as he walked to a different location in the academy. However, Abel seemed hyper-focused on him.
"Abel, don't, just leave him he doesn't know what he's sayi-,"
Fwoosh!
Abel blasted forward into a pacy walk that would've been faster than a lot of human's runs. Elric entered one of the halls of a building near the centre of the academy.
Abel charged in through one of the opening doors, following close behind him. They traversed through the open halls, which had rice paper walls and windows that let in the golden sunlight. Abel, sweating and intensely breathing, was charging after Elric and his loyal flock that followed him wherever he went.
It seemed like he was headed to the school library, but before he could reach the turn to head there, Abel took his chance to pounce.
Dashing through the loose collection of students, he barged into them and pushed them out of his way forcefully. In his advance, many of them were hurled into the walls, taken off guard by his immense strength.
Elric turned to see what the whole commotion was about, only to see Abel charging at him with a devilish, demonic face. Black pulsating
veins could be seen across his face that made him look like he was diseased, and he could see large fangs in his set of teeth.
Not only that, but his eyes were an amber-golden colour. It wasn't like the glowing colours that those would have when using qi. No. It was a beastly colour.
Like that of a wolf.
He was too startled by his horrifying appearance and received a punch to his face. The punch was not only unexpected but impactful and sent him back into a lengthy stagger.
Abel snarled under his breath after throwing that attack, feeling the blood in his veins flowing faster. He was more on edge now and had absolutely no control over his primal instincts. Now, he almost had the mind of a true predator, and Elric had now become his prey.
Blood was now dripping from his nose, and he almost couldn't believe it. Abel, without even an aura of qi, was able to make him bleed. His followers watched on, too stunned to even move and too frightened to do so too.
After seeing that punch, it was clear that they did not want to get on Abel's bad side.
"You dare hit me, your low-class scum?!" Elric asked, wiping the blood from his nose to then flick it off his fingers.
An aura of violet coloured qi enveloped his body, and his pastel white robes flowed in the energy.
"Reinhard Style: Full Sprint!" He exclaimed, as his eyes flashed blue.
He cocked back into a running stance, before charging forward with newfound speed. He left a trail of blue energy behind him and leaped forward to attack Abel.
The cultivator landed a kick to his face, which was followed by many simultaneous cheers from his motivated followers.
"Way to go, Elric!"
"Yeah, beat him up!"
Elric couldn't help but let off a smug smile after landing that attack.
"You stand no chance, Abel." He declared, only to see Abel's demonic face once again.
Fwoosh!
Abel sprung up with immense speed and covered the distance between him and his enemy in a flash. Elric couldn't move in time and fell into his grasp before he could properly evade.
Abel slugged forward his hands to hurl Elric into one of the walls of the hall. A loud, deep sound reverberated across the hall, and the
noble was sent into a tumble.
Before he could even raise back up, though, Abel galloped at his enemy to then slam his sole into his jaw with a kick. A subsequent kick came his way, but Elric was swift enough to raise his arms to block the
incoming attack.
He was sent flying across the hall's floor, and now felt an intense stinging pain from one of his forearms.
Abel gave out yet another snarl upon seeing Elric fall so far, but this noble was unwilling to embarrass himself here like this again. He couldn't lose his credibility and respect to a mere commoner.
He wouldn't let that happen!
