Chereads / The Hybrid Cultivator / Chapter 12 - Ripper

Chapter 12 - Ripper

Duncan was hoping the same, but he was confused about why he still seemed so worried. There was a sense of certainty in his voice, but he literally trembled upon watching this fight play out.

He formed a large hand and forearm, almost the size of an entire torso. There were pulsating veins across it, that were all a dark black, and he wiggled the fingers around before advancing toward Abel.

He leaped forward and screamed, to use his anger to fuel himself with power. He drove this massive fist ahead and intended to finish him off with this attack of his.

He had been ordered not to use his full strength, but that order was no longer something he was going to abide by.

Before it could land, though, Abel placed his hands on the sides of the mammoth fist. Twisting his body powerfully, Col was sent totally off course and crashing into the platform beneath. With the force of the slam and the weight of his body, it created many cracks, and it sounded like an elephant had fallen over.

Abel held him down and firm, though, with his demonic face over Col. He punched him in his head, snapping his nose in two, then threw a flurry of punches right at his face.

BAM! Krak!

His punches continued to damage the platform they were on, and they remained relentless. Abel growled with each punch that he threw, and the students gasped upon watching this brutal assault. Many had to take their eyes away from the amount of blood that was seen spurting out from his shattered face.

Master Oscar couldn't stay by the sidelines any longer and dashed forward with insane speed.

Kicking Abel in the side of his body, he was sent flying over the crowd of students and tumbling across the dojo.

"Abel! I would like to have a nice, long talk with you after this. Your actions have been truly despicable, I cannot believe that you would cause such harm to a fellow classmate of yours!" Master Oscar berated, totally furious.

Abel could feel a broken rib from that attack, but it painfully snapped back in place as he remained on his hands and knees.

HIs demonic face began to fade and as he breathed, you could hear primal growls as an undertone. That soon faded once his body looked almost totally human, and his breathing began to calm.

Looking up, the crowd of students had their eyes glued on him, but as he raised, many turned their glances away.

As he approached the crowd, they almost scattered to give space for him, unwilling to remain by his side.

"I apologise, master. I didn't control myself." Abel stated.

"Sorry is not going to cut it here, Abel. Your friend was very close to death. If not for this healing pill he would be left with a horribly disfigured face!" He roared, before feeding a white pill to Col.

He coughed upon swallowing it, releasing volumes of blood, and wheezed with every breath that he took. The broken platform was covered with his own blood, and his friends even looked at him with fear.

Abel went over to stand by their side, as he usually would, but they just remained silent. They just didn't really know what to say to him.

'Don't worry, guys. It won't be long before I get revenge on these people for looking down on us for all this time!' Abel declared in his mind.

'Master is furious with the way I acted but if Col had my power, he would've done the same thing and mortified me! It's clear favouritism!' Abel claimed, clenching his right fist.

Upon clenching it tightly, he felt a sharp prick show up across his hand. He hissed in pain and opened it, to see retracting claws. Hastily looking around, he made sure to not try and reveal this to anyone else.

He felt a sense of safety fighting up on the platform where people couldn't see him clearly, except for his opponents. However, if he beat them up badly enough, he knew that they'd keep their mouth shut.

Defeated warriors would hate to bring up moments of humiliating losses, even if there was valuable information to share.

Looking up, he could also see the amount of human blood across the platform. He felt his face changing as a reaction to that substance, but he looked away, knowing that he was in a dense crowd of students who were glued to him.

Their class had come to an abrupt end, and during their afternoon break, Abel was sat in Master Oscar's own office within the staff quarters of the academy.

"Abel, you are extremely lucky that I don't have the right mind to expel you from this academy right at this instant. You were trying to kill your fellow classmate!" He claimed, slamming his hands on his table.

Abel felt the immediate desire to give a smart retort but decided to keep his mouth shut for now. His growing anger was like a cauldron of hot water, bubbling to the surface. Now, he was struggling to keep the bubbling liquid from overflowing.

He aggressively played with a part of his robe, while looking down at it.

It was a habit of his that would only intensify when his emotions became unstable.

"I understand and I apologise, master. It is just that these students have tormented me all my life. They have constantly bullied and ridiculed me, and I lose my control sometimes." He replied.

As he said this, Master Oscar, clicked his fingers together.

"That's it, how do you have this power! You do realise that I have the intention of removing you from this academy if you do not have a dantian, but you seem to be strong enough to have one already." He explained.

"I can sense that there isn't an ounce of qi within you. Are you utilising some arcane power unknown to us?" He asked, with an interrogative look.

Abel didn't even know what power he possessed, but what he did know was that he couldn't reveal such a thing here. It was better that people were left in the dark along with him.

"I am not. I think I've learned to break the human limiter on strength without the use of qi." He claimed.

"Impossible!" His master retorted, annoyed by his reply.

"No, master, I think I really have. I mean, what else could've happened? I have no qi, you can sense that, and I am much stronger than any average human. I promise you, this is all that I know."

There was silence between the two as they stared at each other. They gave each other sharp glares, then Master Oscar decided to wave his hand.

"Fine. I don't want to see you in the academy until the beginning of your event outside the city walls. That shall be punishment for what you did here today." He declared, as Abel raised and took a bow.

"Thanks for your consideration, master." Abel replied, before taking his leave.

Abel gave out a light sigh of relief upon exiting his room. He might've been given a bit of a head-start in suppressing his suspicions, but his actions were still too puzzling. In the entire world, there had never been a case of the human limiter being broken without the existence of qi.

It literally made no sense, that required the pure energy of the soul to provide such limitlessness. All he could do, now, was play the waiting game. He just didn't know enough yet about his powers, and didn't know what to do going forward.

Walking through the streets of Fragan within the night, he'd found another target to fill his desire for blood. A younger woman that looked to be only slightly older than him.

In a flash, he appeared in front of her and had a slight smirk in the process. As he stood there, he expected her to be scared but she instead seemed drawn to him.

Her cheeks blushed and she tucked her black hair behind her ear.

"Hi. Can I help you?" She asked with a soft, playful tone.

"Yes." Abel said, while his signature demonic face took form once again.

"Yes, you can." He said, with a smile.

He dug deep into her neck, where he could hear her pulse most intensely. Going straight for her jugular vein, enriching, sweet blood. He had already drunk so much blood before she could scream, and she was steadily losing her balance and consciousness.

He pulled back his head, revealing his blood-filled mouth and dark face with a smile.

"It just doesn't get any worse." He said, looking deep into her lost, soulless eyes.

He dug deep into her neck once again, making her gasp from the sudden agony.
